i'll come with the stipulation that i not be woken up at 4am by several cop cars shining their lights in the back of my suby and telling me i can't camp there... ;) i mean, they were nice guys and all and i really appreciated their support and well wishes after a nice looooong conversation in which i was able to convince them that we certainly had a permit and were totally on the up & up... but still...
i really enjoyed this event last year... with the exception of some of the long positions (not gonna lie) and am really looking forward to seeing the work that you all have accomplished in this last year. Bryant is a very technical course that is about hitting lines not necessarily just throwing big... which is exactly the type of course i totally dig. i'll sign up as soon as i can...

I slept right through that. :)
Thanks for being our point-person on it, though. I probably would have been far less diplomatic.

yes, sam, and i was glad you did. the entire time i was shmoozing with the local authorities i was staring intently at your tent sending you the psychic message "stay in your tent, gibson. stay in your tent. do not wake up. do not try to talk to the cops. emma has everything under control."
good thing i'm good with cops AND psychic.

Count me in! I can't wait to play this tourney. I came so close to taking down Nate last year and found myself in an epic battle with Sean Phillips for second place. Good times on a great course hosted by a fantastic club!

Had a chance to play Bryant yesterday and had as much fun as always. Noticed a few missing trees on some of the holes people have complained about over the years, should make things a bit "fairer". Surprised by how well those carpet pads have held up over a few winters.
Got to hole 10 to find the long teepad gone! I thought "oh, bummer" and looked down the fairway to see the basket position but couldn't see it. So I walked down to look, still couldn't see it. I noticed that the old bmx jumps were gone and saw the memorial for the poor kid who died on them a few years back. The blading of those old jumps made a wide open......fairway? What's that way the hell down there? A basket?
THAT'S A COOL HOLE!
Is Bryant now a Par 60?

If everything is in the long position I'd say par 60. Still haven't decided all the way if we will be using the all the long positions though. That will be determined by the amount of clean up that goes on between now and the Classic.

Holes 4, 6, 10, 12, 17, and 18 are par 4. Hole #4 in the short position is a par 3. For the tournament, - Saturday both rounds will all be in the easy positions. Sunday, all hard - ha ha. Hole #10 is the only hole without an alternate, as of now.

I don't think 10 ever was a par 4. As far as I know it's always been 4, 6, 12, and 17/18 depending on pin setting. I am getting pretty dang excited for this tourney, I've heard y'all have been putting in some work out there at Bryant to get it dialed in!

I agree with Rebel but for the sake of this conversation....hole 10 was built as a par 4. It's a dog leg throw with no route directly to the basket...and it's long (which reminds me that we need to get a measurement on it before the tournament.)

Without ever playing it, I would say...throw a little past the turn, play the upshot...a good one and make a 3 and walk to the next tee. But I haven't played it yet...AND...wait for it...don't clip anything along the way or it will probably end up being a 4.

There is a KOA located on highway 34 between Albany and Corvallis. It's only a 3-4 miles away.
There are affordable motels/hotels in the area including Budget Inn, Motel 6, and a Value Inn. There are several other too choose from in the area.

oh. i knew it was going to be bad... but i was hoping not THAT bad.
i'll say thank you to scott, jeromie and jessie for all their hard work on the course and running a nice event. the course is much improved over last year and you're not done working yet. thank you for all of that.
and thank you for doing everything that you could think of to get women signed up and playing... didn't really pan out this year but we'll remember the efforts you made and hopefully next year for your 10th annual the gals will represent. you made me feel very welcome and very appreciated.
thanks to everyone who hung out, drank beer and ate tots with me over the weekend and i guess a thank you to all you AM2 boys for some good competition... i have been humbled a little bit... and hopefully y'all have learned to take score properly, that you MAY use your thrown disc to mark the lie and STILL play with it during the round (yes... some people really did think that the rule stated if you used the thrown disc then you were not allowed to play with it for the rest of the tournament) and to get the hell out of my line of sight when i'm putting... sheesh... ;) :biggrin2:
till next time...

Thank you everyone for a great weekend. All the scores are updated and posted on the PDGA site. The ace pot was given for an eagle (2) on a par 4: To Dion Aryln (#18) and Dan Beaudin (#12), $74 each. Sorry for everyone who got stung. Happy for Nate5 for tearing up the course (47 new record). Thank you emmarose for your leadership and suggestions. I am happy to see people understanding the intent of the course we are building. Next year par 61. Hole #7 and #10 new pin placements, plus whatever else we can do to make it "longer, harder, stupider". Thanks again, Scott.
