2012 Proto: A Hybrid Driver!

The 2012 Ace Race prototype disc is officially classified as a long range driver, but it could be more accurately described as a hybrid driver and is superb for running aces! Faster than a Buzzz but slower than a Stalker, the disc offers players controlled fairway shots. At medium to fast speeds this disc will hold the line to finish with a slight hyzer. Give it a rip!

From what I've heard about this disc, it's flying like an XL. Has moderate fade at the end of it's flight but can easily be put on line. Most of the reviews I've read and been told about state that it's very low speed stable but not so much high speed stable. People are comparing the flight to a Leopard or a XL. Apparently Discraft actually tried to make a true Fairway driver this year. Flight statistics look something like 7 speed, 5 glide, -2 high speed stability, 2 fade. Excited for this.

Yeah I can't find my other Trident. Now I just need to get off my ass and go to Rapid Fire to get another. Although I saw a super sweet color shift one on feebay the other day that was going for 4 dollars.

I will only be ordering 5 player packs more than the reserved player list, so please let me know if you are going to play in this event, or take your chances being one of the five. You will be able to reserve your spot up to September 22, 2012. I will be placing my player pack order on September 23, 2012.

We will be holding a side pot with this event.

Three divisions - Pro, Am, Women

Pros - $10

Ams & Women - $5

If you decide to play the Side Pot you will finish playing the hole for score.

Both rounds will count for score in the side pot.

Side Pot payout will be the top third scores in each division.

The 2012 Ace Race disc is now the Discraft Zombee, and it wants CHAAAAINS! Zombee isn't especially fast, but it is relentless in pursuit of its basket victims, moving in a straight line with added glide toward its prey. Zombee joins the Discraft hive as a utility driver with a 1.0 stability rating.

No date has been set for release to retailers, but all copies of the disc including Ace Race protos are now tournament legal.
