Allright guys danni, being the official TD, put out all the general info, so heres some specifics, and oh by the ways.

* this is the first year of this tourney being a sanctioned c tier, we're excited to take things up an extra notch, with rated rounds and an extra day of 27 holes

* just like last year my backyard is open for whoever would like to camp for free, ask peter, beau, nathan, and anyone else who was here how much fun drunk 31 is the night before an event:cheers:

* we've created a new side game that will test not only the accuracy of your final lie but also the accuracy of the flight path you took to get there...

*also the first year with an open field, im hoping itll look something like this...beau, peter, nathan, chandler, rolly, baby jesus, rideout, rey, lou, me...yeah i may try to take down the big boys it is my course after all:trophy: king of the island has a nice ring to it...

*final 9 pro/am skins again this year, new safari holes and plenty of cash to throw around

We hope to see plenty of familiar faces and some new ones as well...we have so much fun putting this on!! Six weeks to go, cant wait to see you all:biggrin2:

I'm planning on signing up soon, really hoping to make this one! Will the final 9 skins be for top 3,4,5 Open finishers? 27 on the final day is a nice touch, lots of golf!

Top four pro division total scores plus ties, so theoretically we could have two open, one master, and one grandmaster...but only am divisions from advanced on down are allowed to buy raffle tickets to get in the skins, so we dont have a cook/stimpi team like at aloha, this will be a true pro am skins, alternate shot with ams teeing off every other hole regardless of the previous holes outcome. Does that make sense?

I love these smileys im such a 12 year old girl

Great time in auburn this weekend, I was really thrilled how many people not only asked about RIO3 but how many of you cant wait to get up to the island for it in august. It seems to me we're going to have a very strong open field, and plenty of people filling out every division. The cap is 80 so dont get left caddying for your buddy:headbang:

Already up to five tents in my backyard, which I love to see, room for plenty more still, we have tons of space. The job of cleaning the course up has begun with two goals in mind: #1 to make it look as pristine as possible for that great aesthetic disc golf experience #2 to take the course and through various additions and subtractions, make it play as tough as possible. This may be a "shorter" course but trust me when I say we're gonna make you bring every shot in your bag to take a title home. And someone ask me a question, make a comment, poke fun at me, SOMETHING lol, I'm tired of reading my own posts and keeping you all insanely overinformed. 31 days to go!

I'm bringing a keg of Mac n Jacks to Shelton so please take note NOT to stand between me and the keg!

We haven't met before, but I will on Blake Island earlier that week, and was hoping to just stick around and play a tournament since I would be over there. It would help out if I didn't have to pay for a place to camp. It would most likely be just me and my girl. Let me know if you have room?

Thanks

Heya,

Yes we have several different kinds of shirts, so I'm not sure which one you mean.

"Eat Sleep Disc Golf"
"Disc Golf Like" (facebook goof)
"Slashing Aces" (available in short and long sleeve)

The only shirt you might have seen that we don't offer for sale is the ones the team players wear at the tournaments.

You can use scrip or cash at RIO to purchase these and the Disc Addiction hats.

Yup, we'll have them with us, not a problem!

Yes, we sell Innova, BUT we won't be selling plastic at Aquafest, I believe Guy will have the plastic selling "duty" there, and he normally has a good selection.

We'll have PLENTY of plastic for sale and to be used with script for RIO3 though. :cheerleader:

AHHH aren't you sweet... yes I'm trying to do a one of a kind "trophy style" for the CTP winner, just waiting on BA's input. I did something special for Shelton and I really liked it.

Glad you guess are liking the dyes!! www.DiscAddiction.com for some of the newest designs requested at Shelton (although I still have more of those to add, people really came up with some great ideas for dye jobs this year at Shelton)

As promised the first upload of players is available on pdga.com, the site seems to be semi-down at the moment but I'm sure it'll be remedied soon. Good to have Rodney and Rey Rey up at Fort Nugent yesterday doing a little prep work prior to RIO (and trying to hit a huge ace pot $226, sorry boys it's still growing), As we get closer to the tourney I'll be playing Sunday doubles (noon) and Wednesday handicap league (545PM) with a few of the temp holes in place. This way if people want to get a feel for a some of the holes of the the 27 on RIO Sunday they'll have a chance in the weeks prior to grab a sneak peek. We played old 10 and old 17 yesterday and I got very nostalgic, and pissed that Rey parked 10 from 450 feet:confused: We also just added another sponsor, GoBig Paintball from Bellingham kicked in $100 dollars cash and a ten player party pack for their paintball field valued at $300. We'll figure out a good way to give that sucker away maybe it'll be the prize for my new accuracy game...getting close guys 19 days left :yay:

I'm thrilled to announce a change to the player's party Saturday night...

Keep in mind that you'll have to pay an additional fee to sign up after August 16th, so help a TD out and get pre-registered ASAP :)

We still have a little room in the yard for tents, so call Yammits to get on that list.

If you'd prefer a hotel:
http://www.acornmotorinn.com/
http://www.queenannemotel.com/
Both are super close to the course, the Acorn might be "newer/ cleaner"

We hear the excitement is building for this tournament and that tickles me to hear... I have spent many months trying to make this an event that you'll remember!

If I can help in any way, feel free to contact me, or Tim!

Danni

Did you hear yet?!?!?!

Elements Night Club/ Bayside Casino is sponsoring (again this year) the BOGEY RAFFLE!!

This is FREE and included for all players 21+ years-old.

WHAT is a Bogey Raffle? It's simple, for every bogey (or worse) that you score during the tournament, we will put your name on a raffle ticket... then randomly select a ticket and YOU'RE THE BIG WIENER of RIO3!!

Just a little "extra" that this great sponsor likes to toss into the mix of fun!

We got a rash of sign-ups over the weekend, so I'll spend some time tonight updating the current PDGA players list!

Danni
August 6th, 2012, 05:21 PM
As you can see things are updating fast around here now that we are well under 2 weeks until the tournament, but I'm excited to announce a few new sponsors!!

*O'Nuts Smoked Almonds - sponsored a T-sign and will have their delicious almonds for-sale AT the tournament!

*Nancy & Jack Lorber sponsored a T-sign!

*Mando's Disc Golf in Auburn has volunteered to add some shwag to the raffle - THANKS Tom Bontempo

*Whidbey Island's very own Chris & Rachel Ruddell have made a cash donation to be used for the TROPHIES!!

Remember without GREAT sponsors, and kind donations we could never manage to have the high payouts we are known for! :cheerleader:

*** ONLY 5 t-signs left ***

Danni

I want to take a second to answer a rumor that is swirling around...

OPEN PLAYERS ARE BEING PAID IN CASH!

The only time an open player would be paid in scrip is if they REQUEST to be paid in scrip to keep their amateur status.

The only thing we are doing different then the norm for Open players is EVERY PLAYER, that pre-registers, will get a players pack (and this includes the open divisions). We have wonderful sponsors this year and the sponsors paid for every item in the players packs!

I hope that clears up any confusion!

Danni
August 9th, 2012, 09:03 AM
:cheerleader:We're under 30 slots left!! :cheerleader:

If you're mailing a payment, please shoot me a PM and let me know.

As a reminder the online payment will end the evening of the 16th.

Please also remember ALL sign-ups AFTER August 16th will cost you an additional $5 "late sign up fee" so save yourself a few bucks and get signed up now.

I did get a rash of online and in person sign-ups last night so I'll update the online PDGA members list tonight! A big thanks to all of you that have registered early, it really does make the TD's job a bit easier.

Can't wait to see everyone next weekend, the weather looks AMAZING here on the island! :dancing:

I wanted to post some new details for everyone!

1) The trophies are done and I must confess I LOVE THEM! Also be aware that EVERY division we offered WILL get a trophy, regardless of how many entries are in that division!! We don't move players to a division just because we didn't have 4+ players in a division.

2) FIRST PLACE IN ADVANCED MEN and INTERMEDIATE MEN will get an INNOVA BASKET! Just a little extra to be playing for this year!

3) We will be giving away a basket and a $300 paintball package as prizes for our side games!

4) pro/am skins raffle will be a 50%/50% split

5) We only have 3 t-signs left if you'd like to sponsor a hole.

We're under a week left until we kick this tournament off!

I'm waiting on the receipts to upload from the payment site and then I can have a TRUE number, this final 8 slots might be adjusted up or down a couple, but to be sure if you plan to play you NEED to get signed up!

Online payments END tonight (or as soon as we sell out) we will make a waitlist if need be.

I'm so glad we're having a professional photographer here Sunday, because this is gonna be a hell of an amazing event and I want to see it all for years to come! I'm a big girl that way! :nahnah:

I won't be near the computer much today getting all these last minute details together, so if you need to reach us please use 850-426-1514

The course looks amazing thanks to some hard work but our local players, without them this would be much harder on me.

Also as an aside I HOPE a lot of you will come out for a fantastic meal at FLYERS Saturday and support this sponsor that has support the disc golf community! It's a full meal WITH A BEVERAGE of choice (beer, wine, well drink or soda) for ONLY $12!!

If anyone has portable baskets and can fit them in their car, bring them with you to the island. I have enough for sundays 27 hole round but id rather be safe and have too many than too few, thanks!:D

50 players came out for doubles! Now that is a great way to start this tournament off right.

3 spots have been taken, so Danni has 5 spots left for tomorrow morning.

SCORES are posted!!
http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/96313%2526s%3D264455974

Thank you to all of you that came out to the island this past weekend, I hope you had as much fun as I did.

Some highlights for the weekend were:

1) Several pros had their first cash wins.
2) Brandon Parsons had his first pro win.
3) Wills set a new course record of -13.
4) The skins team of Kenny Clark/ Jayden Johnson won all the skins for $720.
5) Ray Sanchez was the last player in the pool going into the last round with a chance at the birdie pot, but lost it :(
6) We had 3 ACES in tournament play (Jon Wills, Nate Felix, and Danny Delgado), but no one hit the huge ACE pot in doubles on Friday.
7) Our largest division was PRO MEN 0.o
8) Jason Carr CRUSHED a drive in skins (we're still going to measure it but it's around 580+ feet)
9) We had 8 women play (the most I have had at a tournament and I hope that keeps growing each year!)
10) The cops WEREN'T called to my house even with nearly 3 dozen players at or around.

We look forward to seeing you all back next year!!
