The Battle is less than a week away!!!!!:yay:
Here (http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/79036) is the current list of players.
If you haven't signed up yet the sign ups are here (http://www.chainbangerz.com/product/battle-seattle-20)
Or you can go to the Burien store: 637 SW 153rd St Burien,WA 98166
or the Lakewood Disc Golf Course concessions: 11050 10th Ave SW Seattle, WA 98146
both are able to take cash or credit card.
Since this event is pre registration only it is highly recommended you sign up soon.
As far as the courses:If you have played Seatac lately you may have noticed how well groomed it is looking. Before the event it will get an even more refined haircut. Thanks to all the guys who have helped so far, especially Chuck,Eric H.,& Jason. These three guys have pretty much mowed every hole out there, with these amazing powered front throwing reel mowers.
Also a badass field & brush mower that Gordy has let us borrow to help whip the course into shape. Thanks Gordy
Lakewood is looking good and should have the long awaited bridge from hole #2 to #3 across hyzer creek. We may have a new pin placement for hole #2 in place, and possible alt pad position above the current pad near the road as well. If anyone has a flymart rubber tee pad they can spare for one of the rounds of the event, please let me know.
If anyone wants to help out with getting sponsors you can get your entry fees paid by doing so, as well as getting a rare, available to volunteers only,Battle Of Seattle 2.0 bad ass shirt.
The perfect candidate would be someone motivated that has time, and maybe a little short on cash. If your willing to really pound the pavement for the next two weeks. Most businesss in and around the Burien shop, just a couple of blocks door to door.Since they are so close, allot of ground can be covered in a short time. I can provide the proper paperwork and sales pitch. PM if interested.Or contact me via e-mail:chainbangerz@gmail.com
We are really looking forward to this event, and hope you are as well. Thank you for your interest and support.

Just realized this is one week before BSF and two weeks before FSO! What a three week tournament swing if you can do it! I'm surprised more top pros playing at the beaver state fling aren't signing up for this event! They must be AFRAID of SeaTac!

Awww no shirts this year?!:waaah: That was the best shirt ever last year! I wear it every tournament Sunday. I would pay dearly for a 3XL of a shirt for this years tourney. Could someone make that happen?:biggrin2:
All I know is that players pack really softened the blow of Seatac.

Thanks man appreciate that. We really wanted to do shirts but without knowing sizes a month prior to event it puts a strain on us & our printer as well. This year we are doing a limited run of shirts for those who have & are willing to help out with the event. They are gonna be really cool. I'll get a 3XL printed up for you.
Player packs this year should help soften the blow on the tac,but the way it's looking all nice & groomed should really help out in that department even more.

Thank you so much!! I always get complements on my shirt when I wear it and hope to get many more with the new shirt. I cant wait to try and best my score last year, which shouldn't be hard... my personal best at Seatac is +10.
My info for the shirt in case you need it when I pick it up is: McKenzie Baldwin, #47906 MA1
Thank you once again, I cant wait for the Battle of Seattle!!!

Though I won't be playing in this, I just wanted to say that I played SeaTac for the first time in a couple months this past weekend, and the course is looking great. Seems to improve each year since CB's has been an influence there. Keep up the good work guys, hope the new holes and other improvements aren't too far off in the future.

Is there going to be a junior division for certain?
If so, do they have to pre register and is it really going to cost them 50$?

Not for certain, one signed up today. I know that if another junior knows of this he may switch from intermediate to Junior division. It would be nice to have at least 4 to make the division.
All players must pre register, otherwise its $20 extra to sign up the day of.
$35 for Juniors (http://www.chainbangerz.com/product/battle-seattle-20)

Bummer you won't be playing in this Tim. We would be willing to shave off a considerable amount of your entry fees since you helped run it last year and all?
Just throwing that out there.
Thanks for the praise. The gruesome threesome as well as Adam with his rider got another mow in yesterday on at least 14 of the holes.Only 2 break downs, and 3 belts, and of course right after, the rain came:headbang:
Could almost see the grass growing right back to its original length before 8 hours of hacking away at it. Luckily it was overcast today so its looking pretty eff-in schoweeeeet I must say.
New holes are on the horizon. We can actually get started clearing fariways. Just waiting on funding for equipt to do so. But..... if anyone has acess to a brush hog attachment and is willing to put it to the test. lemme know.

Haha, thanks for the offer but I've hardly been playing at all lately, let alone tourney golf. I would likely be donating in the Rec. division at this point. :trophy:

I believe the hunt for a TD is on. I ran it last year but I'm probably heading out backpacking that weekend so won't be able to do it again. I'll be happy to help anyone with the PDGA paperwork and this tourney is REALLY easy to run.
Just let me know if you or anyone else would be interested in helping out :biggrin2:
EDIT: TD found, thanks Kyle Sutherland!!! See the separate thread for the doubles announcement :)

Just signed up another Junior so hopefully you guys get one more before the weekend and we can have a division.
I just realized that I payed for him and wrote down my name, Taylor Erickson. The junior competing is actually Jordan Erickson if that matters.
Also, if there aren't enough to make a division, could someone let me know via this forum or a PM?
Thanks, looking forward to the tourney.

Will there be separate tee pads for the junior division?

Sorry, I just keep coming up with questions.
Will there be separate tee pads for the junior division?
Open and advanced will play seatac, lakewood, seatac
intermediate,& Jrs will play lakewood,seatac,lakewood
Sorry, no alternate pads for Juniors.. but Sundays baskets at lakewood
will be shorter than on Saturdays.
As I expressed before it is a bummer that there are not more kids signed up for the Battle. I would really like to host a juniors only event to use the short basket pins like I did for the Lakewood Ace Run Challenge. Since that was my motivation for adding the shorter holes in the first place. Most of them are under 200'.
The struggle is getting enough of the younger generation hip to it.
There was some talk with a few fathers about hosting a Father/son dubs,
Or even a Jr. Pro caddy event. This would be where local pro players will share the teepad with four juniors giving tips, helping with disc selection, and playing along with them.
Since there are 9 holes in short this would be a easy number to deal with. Only needing 9 pros and 36 Juniors.
Having worked with a few schools and teaching an after school program I am a big fan of getting the kids more involved.
I will continue efforts in this department.
For now back to the Battle.. sorry it needs my attention..

Two questions before the Battle: 1. What time is the players meeting? 2. You stated earlier Masters will be playing Lakewood,Seatac,Lakewood. Is that still the deal? 3. And does that include the advanced masters? Ok thats 3 questions...
Looking forward to the Battle!

Hey I am traveling up from Oregon for the Battle, is there anyone that could stand to have me and a friend stay in their backyard? I slept on a hill in my car last year next to Seatac and people thought I was crazy. Thanks!

large movie format, along with a full color disc and certificate of authenticity numbered 1/50.
So if you feel like owning a piece of history you can do so, just check back here periodically or in both stores.
As of today June 5th there are 80 players signed up. This means there is still room.
if you want to sign up please do so here (http://www.chainbangerz.com/product/battle-seattle-20).

See you on the 9th of June

THANKS To Keith and Adam, volunteers, sponsors, wives, kids, dogs, etc...
I had a blast playing this weekend, as did many others I'm sure. We got a nice dose of awesome weather to boot. Delicious Tacos and Salted carmel ice cream on a beautiful day with good friends was something more than golf that really makes the events special. I also really liked the water stations and caddy books, that was a good touch.
Looking at the ratings for the 3rd round, looks like the pools need to be separated. Also, Kyle's 41 (-13) at Lakewood is obviously current course record, and has got to be highest rated round in WA state PDGA history at 1092 unofficially (Maybe it's time to dig around and make a top 10 rated rounds of WA list). It will probley rank high up on the all time too.
Jreynolds
June 11th, 2012, 09:19 PM
^ it will probably rank high, it was obviously an amazing round, but there have been multiple 1100+ rated rounds shot this year, nationally... I know there were at least 2 at the Memorial
