The back story here is that we wanted to have a starter bag that we could use to help get new players involved in the game. What we discovered is that this style of bag was a hit with the recreation players. Yet, 6-9 discs is just not enough for some of us - we have too many toys. So we opted to try out a larger sling bag.

We've created custom stabilizer straps that secure the bag to your back which some have used to wear the bag through out an entire round. It is actually quite surprising how little you feel this style of bag - even while driving.

We are interested in hearing what our fellow north westerners think about these bags. Has anyone tried a sling bag before? Who would use them? What price is fair? My wife ended up using it a lot, but traded it for a Nutsac when the double came out. She carries 4 discs, but uses the rest of her bag like a purse.... Fair price for the small one maybe $15-18. For the large one $20-24?

Good idea. There may be a way to incorporate the cage idea in the inner pocket which would allow you to use the upper portion of the main sling pocket for storage as well. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks CrazyDriver. Yeah to be honest I don't use a sling all the time myself. I generally stick with my standard bag with shoulder straps during the season and switch over to the the quiver w/ stabilizer strap when honing the flight paths of a few discs or playing in the snow/mud. Yet we have guys who swear on the sling bag.

Looks great but only for the casual golfer or winter rounds. For myself, I can't fathom wearing a bag during a throw. I have a hard time not going through my full routine on gimme's.

If you're in the Portland Area and have a "try it out" bag for a round at Pier or Lunchtime let me know. I'd be glad to be proven wrong here but I just can't see it (I do carry 20+ discs though). Even at 12 or so discs and a water bottle I don't see this style holding up to 36 holes of comfort.

Yes. That is exactly what we found in our first run. Recreational players really liked them (mostly for the cost), but they aren't quite "fitted" enough for the avid disc golfer. We are now entertaining the idea of creating custom disc golf bag(s). We may continue to explore a sling bag idea, but are also wondering if there are other disc bag styles that are missing from your disc golf game. If you are interested in helping us move that idea forward please contact me.

How about a bag/sleeve designed to be used on a dg cart?

A mini backpack style bag w/ internal frame?

A bag equipped with a _______.
A. vaporizer B. camel back C. radio D. battery powered heater

When you say the sling bag isn't fitted well for the avid dg'er, do you mean that it's uncomfortable wearing it while throwing, or just uncomfortable in general? The only 'avid discer' (using this term loosely here:wink2:) that I know who plays with their bag on is Jub-Jub, and he wears one of those stylish fanny packs. The quiver looks ideal for those days that I only bring 6-7 discs to my home course(N park), and less 'purse-ish' than my innova starter bag. Perhaps a foam-type frame would work.

This sling wasn't meant to hold the discs in a way that makes them easy to grab. Good ideas we'll keep them in mind as we explore our options. Thanks!
