Sunday June 10th will mark the 3rd annual Amnesia tournament at North Bonneville DGC. This year I am changing the format to a phantom double style event. There will be three divisions to choose from: Pro, Am and Mixed(gender). Price is $50.00 per team and all teams will receive the players pack. So far in that pack is tech shirt, pint glass and towel. I am adding two extra holes and am capping the event at 80 people. Registration will be online at 4discgolf.com starting on April 10th. This event always fills is non-sanctioned and sponsored by a beer company. Please read between the lines. Also I am making a trophy that the winners names will be engraved into each year and put on display at the new Amnesia brew pub and production brewery. This will be a steel cup that seriously looks like a Viking would drink out of after a long day of lopping off heads with a double bit axe. It will be bad ass if my plan comes together. Hope to see you there.

Hi Justin,
Could you explain the "phantom doubles" format for those of us who don't already know? Thanks!

Phantom Dubs: 1st round is singles. Both people play 1 round singles, not on same card. I take both scores and average them. This gives you your team score for the doubles round. 2nd is a doubles round. Both people drive, after that point its alternate shot. IE: If you select your partners drive, you throw the upshot and they will putt.

My goals for this year is to throw a BBQ, Beer and Fly mart party. We are going to have a short break between rounds, basically as much time as it takes me to do the scoreboard. This event is always to be a break between larger sanctioned PDGA events. After the rounds we will have a very low cost BBQ and all the beer you can drink for cheap. The money we raise at the BBQ is going into the tee sign fund. All money form entry fees goes back to the players. Also please bring any plastic you wish to sell or trade. I will have tables available for you. Lets keep the plastic off Ebay and in the local golfers bags! Sweet Plastics is also online to handle the script again this year. We are pushing through the rounds to allow more time for a festive atmosphere where we can all hang out in a non golf environment. It should be a great time as usual.

Sounds great, is Kevin going to be there serving beer? Or perhaps even playing?

Kevin is really pumped up for this years event. He will be there hanging out for sure. I dont know about the playing part. It will be nice to have him around. He usually just drops of the beer and dips. Amnesia has done alot for the North Bonneville course and it would be nice for him to see how much it is appreciated.

That is fantastic, I will call him and see if I can convince him to play...he's my brother's brother in law:cheers:

FAIR WARNING: Any team names that are not on the level will be changed by me into something you will hate. Just putting that out there.

"On the level" means nothing inappropriate. I enjoy intelligent joke names and inventive names. Just keep it clean is what im saying.

Justin,

Let me know how I can help out.
Still not sure if I'll be in playing form by that date but no way I miss out.

First place in each division will receive a hooded sweatshirt. The artwork on the Dri Fit shirts and sweatshirts looks great again this year. Looks like towels are a no go this year for the players pack but you still get a Dri Fit shirt and a pint glass. I will also be getting together some CTP challenges as well. Great times are at hand! Especially if the wind kicks up for at least one of the rounds.

Yes, as previously discussed, via a fluke (I accidentally texted you instead of Jordan), we are indeed partnering for this! :p

I was too embarrassed to admit my mistake to Jordan, but now that the cat is out of the bag...

Sorry Jordan, I hope you find a different partner, and I hope Sam and I beat you by one shot! ;)

HAHAHA!!! I didn't know about the mis-text. I don't mind finding another partner if you want to keep it Long and Wrong.

I am putting in two temp holes for this event. If anyone has quality portable baskets I could use and would not mind bringing them that would be great. Otherwise its DB5 time. Single chain goodness to brighten you day. Sorry, its all I have.

No worries big guy so long as we are still a go for WB! You and Sammy tear it up! This format is too wonky for me. I've read it twice now and still don't understand.

Shirts are in and look great! Very nice dri fit shirt for the players pack. Also added Koozies as the event is sponsored by Amnesia Brewing. Decided in the spirit of a players party lunch will be included with your entry fee. Course looking good. Nice and green. Couple weeks away and looking forward to having a great time.

Awesome! It just gets better and better :)

I am going to try and play the course this weekend for the first time...will I be able to figure it out having never been there or is it tough to do without someone who's played it?

Super easy to figure out. All tee pads are numbered. After hole 1 cross the road and #2 tee pad is next to the tennis court. What day do you plan on being down there? If its Monday I can meet you.

Justin you are doing a great job. I offer the following only as a suggestion not a criticism. If TD's would update their opening post, as opposed to making separate new posts, when they add flyers, registration links, etc., it would help keep those important things easy to find, so that players don't have to search through pages and pages of posts to find what they need.

I hear you Gawain. I do not personally have a computer. All my posts are renegade work posts as well. I will try to do that in the future, meaning next time I have access to a computer with out the man on my shoulder. Hopefully soon when I post the schedule.

Played the course this weekend. Really enjoyed it even with trying to dodge a huge family reunion or something. It was a great course and I look forward to a few weeks from now when i get to play it again.

Justin,
What a blast!! You did it again.
I sucked but was smiling just the same. Loved/hated the two addition holes.
You got some good poeple helping out and I wish to thank them all.
Amnesia, Big River Grill, City of North Bonneville and all the sponsers I can't remember (man, I hate that because they are our sponsers and that does matter), I thank you.
Good beer, good food, good people and a GREAT TOURNAMENT. Life IS good!

Thank you,
Phil

Thank you justin and the rest of the crew for putting on a great event...........had a blast! Good scene, good weather, great holes and played with some awesome players. Even though we lost on the third playoff hole for first..........it was pretty cool witnessing the five birdies on the last five holes to tie us. Wow!
