Do you know if it will be part of the state series?

To my knowledge ( I am on the WSS planning committee) the 2012 WRO is NOT a part of the WSS.

Thanks David for posting this information for WRO wonder why they went to two 27's instead of 3 18's

The Windy River Open will be getting pulled from the PDGA Schedule until Kaleb gets in contact with me to have the event approved.

Kaleb has been in the TD business a long time, so there is no excuse for his disregard of PDGA protocol.

I'm cool with 2 rounds instead of 3. Seems like having less people being able to play could be a disappointment. Starting at 8:30am to play one round seems a bit excessive too. Especially cause the last 2 or 3 events I've been to have started a bit on the late side. The one round 27 hole events we've had in Spokane at High Bridge have started at 11. Making it really easy for folks to cut out a day of hotel rooms and camping. This would seem to be especially nice for a tourney in such a central locale to Seattle, Spokane and Portland..
I'm obviously a bit late posting on this but I just thought I'd throw it out there. The tourney seems like it's in limbo still. I guess proper protocol hasn't been followed yet. It should hopefully be cleared up soon.

Lighten up Mike. It seems to me that a private message would have worked just as well and not been so confrontational especially for an event that has been around longer then you have.

Maybe your "tude" is why we are having a hard time keeping TD's

I just had a good conversation with Kaleb this morning and I'm happy to say that the Windy River Open will be back up on the PDGA website soon.

I would like to add - Kaleb is a very trustworthy individual that has many years of service to the disc golf community. This complication was just a bump in the road as we progress from the old-school ways of doing things to actually following the standards for sanctioned events.

Any idea of when/if this will have an on-line registration? A few of us from the Seattle area are considering making the trip but are curious as to the size of the field so far and also need to know how to sign up if we decide to play...

Thanks!

No, but it may decide whether someone plays adv or donates to open. Right? And I don't think it is wrong that people want to know what thier $$$ is going toward either. Just sayin. Not a deal breaker either way but was just curious. I have always heard great things about this tournament and know it will again be a lot of fun.

Congratulations to Marty, and I mean that. You know, your legacy lives on!

Of course, Brian, well it goes without saying, congratulations to you as well: all I can add is: good or not, I will never forget that 2500-foot-plus lost-forever max-weight sidearm-Monster shot at Crystal Mountain Summit...

That sh** was INSANE!

And Brian came back from the 2nd card to take second place, shooting the low round of the tourney, 69 (-12)... Marty played "horribly" his first 9 holes on Sunday ( his horrible is probably pretty damn good for the rest of us)... Jesse played awesome golf, and was tied with Kyle after Saturday, but Kyle played unbeatable golf for the first 18 holes on Sunday... I can't wait to watch Jesse and Marty try to hold down their home course against Kyle next weekend at the Aloha Sushi Classic

Both Marty and Jesse can hold their own in WW. I will give Jesse an edge though for he has almost sickening distance on both blue and black. It will come down to who putts best :)
However, Brian is the person to beat since he is the reigning ASC champ.

Everyone had some unlucky tri city bounces... Brian has the edge due to being the champ... Jesse has the edge due to his freakish distance, but Marty has good D and a killer short game... And of course, Kyle Crabtree is playing great golf... It should be a great tournament to watch!!

CMC206

In addition to my PDGA # not being listed I think there might be a mistake on my last round score. If I remember correctly I shot a +12 on Sunday which would be 93. It says 92. So either someone read it wrong or I made a mistake in my addition. If I shot a 92 then my score would be 94 for a stroke penalty for adding my score wrong. I hope its not my math skills.

If my spider senses are correct he did not tell the website which course your division played.
However since you played the same course as the pros (.or did you play the am pads on the bay?) see if any advanced or pro shot your score...and like magic you know your round rating :)
If you played the long bays then 931 first round 887 second round..if not then you are in the same boat as I :)

It was a great first tournament! I felt like I learned a lot about tournament play (slowness), and how the nerves can get to you if you let them. As for the second round, I didn't stick with my plan to play conservative and ended up OB 4 times. With how poor I felt my round went, I still ended up 2 over which wasn't bad considering.
