Just for the record, who moved the thread? Where did it get moved to? How come registered NWDGN Forum members cannot access the thread anymore?

I'm guessing it was either deleted or moved because of the content which was happening due to some unfortunate events.

Hopefully, dialog will be re-established soon and the Community will be able to get updates from DGU on Sekani.

Just because you feel the need to CYA dos not mean the rest of us should be left out of the loop. This is the premier spot for DG info in the NW and one of the best in the country, The old adage don't shit where you eat seems to have applied.
My next question
does this mean you are done posting here?

Friend request Camp Sekani if you would like to post on the page. If you want to view the page it is viewable to anybody.
I get all my DG info here.
So back to the club and it priorities In no particular order
Course at Sekani. It's winter still
Forming new club,
This seems like it should be number 1 with a bullet. Is there any indication of If/when DGU will offer it's charter. It seems to me that every instance the DGU heads have preached that:
"That DGU has the complete support of the DG community for this project"
That the Player Initiative vote was unanimous. After all that has transpired I wonder if they still feel the same way?
I'd hate to see the baby thrown out with the bath water

I get all my DG info here.
Several years ago the SDGA members voted to use the NWDGN forum as their primary and official means of dispersing club information and receiving community feedback. It seemed reasonable since it was already a robust communication hub and it would allow ease of accessibility.
The founders of the DGU have the power to chose any official means of communication they wish. It's their prerogitive.

All friends of Camp Sekani will get messages sent to them via facebook. All announcements will be made on the main page. Thanks to everybody. The nicknames this sight allows people to hide behind are not productive. If you are hiding behind one on facebook you will be deleted as a friend. We in Disc Golf Uprising are trying to form a responsible and positive community of disc golfers who care. We know if you do we will see you on Facebook!

My KGB slash oo7 slash smoke-screen handle is Gordy #21004. Will that NWDGN-registered name be too deep-throaty to be a facebook friend? Are the popular avatars also on the chopping block? Does this mean the end of the daring duo of Yoduh and the Sky Pilot? Should we use our middle names too when we go to facebook so there will be no chance of mistaken identity? How about a background check? Who will be in charge of accepting or denying the names of facebook friends? Will you also be monitoring the comments of these friends and editing them as well? :smash:

More people use facebook than this site.. We are working on our own website that will be up soon. You do not see Idaho stuff on this site or MT stuff. There will not be a lot of Disc Golf Uprising on this site. You can also email at discgolfuprising@hotmail.com We will email all updates on facebook to people who make the request for a certain amount of time. As our club gets formed, club members will get email.

First, I find your tact to be some bullshit. If you are going to search into a person's past, you'd find many disc golfers (along with regular golfers) that have arrest records. Second, withholding funds to a project that benefits ALL disc golfers because of a beef with Jeremy is petty at the best. Third, posting all that information in a public forum is more detrimental to the community than Jeremy. I find your lack of tact disgusting.

Actually any reasonable person facing these types of accusations IMHO their time would be better spent defending themselves then starting a new Public project.

Jeremy is not a regular golfer he's president of the DGU and not in a petty position. Our government is the public forum that makes this forum possible. The Spokane Park Foundation and the Spokane Parks Department is well aware of this (not from me) and they will act accordingly.
Scales, your post is insulting and trollish, you just about killed the golden goose and now I realize these threads are no place to encourage the community process. From now on I will communicate only with the SDGA board to understand the official club position (hint...work together).
I am 100% for disc golf here and I hope this project goes forward.

I hope this project goes forward as well. I am more than willing to donate time and money to the project. What I am not down for is watching mud slinging over somebody's PERSONAL business. There is no need to air Jeremy's dirty laundry over a public forum which can be viewed by everyone, including parks and rec.
As far as I've seen, there has been no official positions declared for president, vice president, etc. Jeremy may or may not choose to run for any of these positions. Mr Crum could choose to be president and then this would all be void. There could also be an election and neither one may be chosen for any of these positions. Part of the democratic process in which a club should function on.
I do not mean to come across as insulting and wouldn't choose to be such. I am aware that I may have done so with my statement and apologize for such. An unfortunate circumstance has made this happen and it will destroy the best of intentions. We should get together and throw some discs. Isn't that what this is all about?
Thank You

General Scales is a very friendly person online and off, and his post was in no way "insulting and trollish." He is just clearly passionate about the separation between people's personal lives and their contributions to the community. If you are truly here 100% for disc golf and not interested in badgering someone that won't fight back, then an apology to Stuart would go a long way toward showing that you are sincere in that statement.

And a person may choose to pour themselves into a project regardless of what else is happening in their lives. It happens all the time. If people gave up on things they were passionate about because their personal lives were a mess, we'd be a society of sad and apathetic individuals.
And please note that these are all ACCUSATIONS as there has been no judgment passed.
Not officially at least.

I moved one of the threads to a hidden board that only admins can see. For transparency's sake, I admit this. I might do it again based on content. Discuss your club to your heart's content. Make it personal about someone's active legal battle where it does not play into the disc golf situation and it is likely to get deleted again.

gentlemen in the last two years the pierce county players association has made great strides with our parks department and the reputation of disc golf in our community. If one of our parks people gets bored and starts clicking thru the forums and finds this thread it would reset disc golfs reputation back to ZERO!!! If you cannot decently discuss your issues in a public forum I would appreciate it if you did not. This does reflect on all of us whether you think so or not. tks...kevin

As a former SDGA member and a former moderator of this forum, I wholeheartedly agree. This embarrassing sub-forum comes up on the first page of Google results for "Spokane disc golf". I believe the entire SDGA sub-forum should be deleted from NWDGN and re-started with a clean slate.

Fair enough if they had enough of the mess on this board, but they could at least be active on their new FB page... I asked on Wed how the meeting went and not a peep on there since (or before for that matter).

Important Work Parties at Camp Sekani!
Work Party #1
This Sunday August 19th at 1:00pm - ?
Camp Sekani - Jamboree course
We'll be making a few final adjustments to 2 Tee Pads,
hauling the forms from the Club House to the course and staking them down. We'll also have a plate compactor there to flatten out the gravel.
Please bring plenty of water, snacks and sunscreen.
We will have bottled water on hand but we will not be providing food.
Tools:
Hammers, hand saws, nails, wheel barrows, strong muscles, gloves, etc.
Work Party #2
"The Big Pour!"
This Monday August 20th
7:00am - ?
Camp Sekani - Jamboree Course
This is important! We will need perhaps 10 people or more to help us with the pouring of 11 pads. Central Pre-Mix has been on site and believe they can do this in one day. We will need people to get it done. We'll have a brief meeting to orient everyone to the plan.
Again, bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen etc.
We will have some bottled water on hand. If we are going to provide something for lunch I'll announce that tomorrow...
Tools:
Bull Floats
Large Trowels
6' 2"x4" if you have one for screeding
Small Trowels
Hammers or small sledges, gloves, push brooms, etc.
Note: Please let me know in advance if you plan to show up. Also if you have finishing experience let me know as well.
If anyone has a bull float and can bring it let me know.
Hope to see you there.
Our primary means of communication is Facebook. Just type in Disc Golf Uprising and you'll get there.
If you can think of other things, tools etc. that we'll need please contact me at 475-5378.

As a local supporter of disc golf in the Spokane community, and as a regular player of Camp Sekani since the buckets were first set on the ground, I as well would appreciate it if we could get a regular course forum set up for Jamboree and Sekani Gold (the latter would come later most likely). As one of the few persons on this earth that firmly believes Facebook is the root of all evil, and won't rejoin just to get Sekani status updates, I would welcome an outlet for myself and others to voice comments or concerns as to what we come across playing the course in regards to vandalism, littering, or possible course 'upgrade potential'. And with any luck, maybe everyone can come to terms on this new forum to keep the comments clean and constructive.
