Awesome. I've been to several of the Sumner Meadows events and they're ALWAYS a blast. Well worth the drive north.

I just found out this is the same day as our final Stumptown Slosh event.

Look, I know its hard to find a weekend that doesn't conflict with other events, but I want to play dammmit.

Hmmm... Its on the same day we're also running an event. Otherwise, I would do exactly that.

The Winter Flurry has been changed into an XC-tier.

The only reason we are an XC event is because we are playing less than 36 total holes.

There is nothing experimental about this event - it just doesn't quite meet the tour standards and therefore earns an "X".

All standard rules & regulations will apply to all players.

Round ratings will still be issued.

The "X" is no big deal - I just want to make sure that players realize the event will be quite standard.

We will be adding a couple, few holes to the format to try and stay out of the mud. The courses will be very similar to the courses of the past but will have minor tweaks. Courses will have Pro and Am pads to help speed of play. Maps will be available shortly. GET SIGNED UP.

If you have a basket that we can borrow please let us know.
thank you

That's not possible. 6572/14 = 469.4. I believe we have a typo.

BASKETS BASKETS BASKETS!

We are looking for metal baskets. If you have one that we could use it would be appreciated. I am planning to pick up baskets the next couple of days if needed. Please send a PM or respond to this thread.

Thank you.

Getting excited for this one, hope the weather cooperates. The course, as of now, is in pretty good shape. Not as wet as in past years.

It was absolutely brutal out there today. Cold rain coming in sideways from the wind on a golf course with no shelter from the elements – lots of muddy golfers with purple, red, & pink faces.

Kudos – not one player quit at lunch. I was guessing 10% would while others thought maybe as many as 50% might.

Crazy, the weather was just a little windy only an hour away and I was a little sad I couldn't make it till I read that. I guess that's why everyone was over par.

Unfortunately, there weren’t enough rated intermediate players, or “propagators”, to qualify their rounds to be rated.

We had four courses out there:
Pro NW
Am NW
Pro SE
Am SE

The intermediate players were in the same pool as all the pro players. While all the pro players were playing the Pro NW & Pro SE, the intermediates were playing the Am NW & Am SE at the same time as the pros. Therefore, there were only the four rated intermediate players on the course each round. They needed five to develop ratings for the rounds.

PDGA Website
FAQ (http://www.pdga.com/faq?)
Ratings
How are ratings for an event calculated?

“The scores thrown by propagators each round are used to calculate the SSA rating for a specific course layout. A propagator is a current member whose rating is over 799 and is based on at least 8 rounds. As long as there are 5 propagators playing a course layout, ratings can be calculated…”

I had the intermediate players in the same pool as the pros for speed-of-play purposes. The numbers being evened out between the courses was best fit this way. If I would have noticed there were only four rated intermediate players – I probably would have made an adjustment to help ensure everyone could get rated rounds.

How come intermediate players did not receive round ratings from this tournament?

And I please to be pretty damn sarcastic, thank you very much.
