No problem, Toby
Round 1
Phantom in the Dark
Each player will shoot the round as an individual (team mates will be in separate groups). Both scores are added together at the end of the round - this sum is the team score.
Round 2
Best Drive / Alternate Shot
Both players drive on every hole. After both players drive, the team picks their best lie from the two shots. Now the rest of the hole is alternate-shot. Meaning, if the team chooses Player A’s drive, Player B must shoot from Player A’s lie. Then Player A must shoot from Player B’s lie. Continue this pattern until the hole is complete.

Are you playing both 18s for the chilly smack or will it be some sort of a combination?
Thanks,
Josh

Oh Yeah, ordering up some 20 degree weather, possibly accompanied with 20 mph gusts - button up!!
The Chilly Smacker will have all players hitting each course once (Northwest & Southeast). Both courses will pretty much be in their standard layouts.
Phantom Dubs will have all players on one course twice (special layout).
I'd like to thank Chuck Morgan, a local builder, for sponsoring three tee signs.

It's UMBRELLA Time!!!!
I've been pushing for this but I was coming up just a little bit short on funds for making it happen, until Chainbanger'z filled that gap.
Being a little short on the funds meant there would be no tournament stamp on the umbrella, until Turis Corning from Corningwear filled that gap.
That's Right, All amateur players (intermediate & advanced) will be receiving a Chainbanger'z umbrella with a tournament stamp in their player's pack.
Thank you Chainbanger'z & Corningwear for working with me and making these awesome umbrellas come together for the Chilly Smack Challenge.

I am willing to create a mixed division in either pro or am (or both) if there are at least three teams willing to compete in the division.
I like the idea of mixed divisions, but there just isn't very much demand for them, although, I've noticed this is slowly starting to change as more & more couples are out there playing.
I would like to thank Nancy, Ginger, & Jack Lorber for sponsoring a tee sign and kicking down a donation to the EDGE program.
THANK YOU!!!!!

Alright, Blaze n' Crunch - hopefully we get some more mixed takers.
Huge Shout-Out to Keen (http://www.keenfootwear.com/us/en/). Through the EDGE program & from another donation earlier in the year, I'm so very happy to announce that every division (with at least three players) will have a ctp involving a Keen gift certificate. Players in divisions with less than three players will still have an opportunity to win a Keen gift certificate.
I have one Keen gift certificate for one free pair of shoes.
I have one Keen gift certificate for 50% an entire order.
The rest will be Keen gift certificates for 50% off with a maximum value of, at least, $50. So if you want to buy something from Keen costing $100 - it will only cost you $50 cash, but if you want to buy something costing $150 - it will cost you $100 cash.
Please be advised that all these gift certificates will expire at the end of the year, so all orders must be placed during the month of December, 2011.
To all the Amateur Players (intermediate & advanced) and Pros interested in purchasing -
I will be placing my order for the umbrellas very soon. The quantity of this order will be based on the number of players I have signed up on Nov 14th. I will only be ordering a small handful of extra umbrellas, so get signed up early or you may not get one of these sweet player packs. You will still get a player pack, just not an umbrella.
I should have maps available by the end of next week.
Now, it’s time to get ready for the Lahar Benefit Open.

I was thinking of heading down to Steilly from Seattle/U-District on Thursday AM to get some pre-tourny rounds in. Anybody wanna join me and save on gas? Same goes for tourney day, I'd be glad to pick up/carpool and split gas...assuming it's not too far of a detour off I-5

Alright, we are up to 91 players. That leaves only 17 spots still available. At the rate I've been getting registrations, this event will fill before Saturday morning - So get signed up if you want to play.
Seeing how I ordered the players packs last week (when there were only 40 players signed up), many ams will be getting their umbrella late. I will have about 40 to give away on Saturday and I'm asking many of my locals to please be cool and be willing to pick up their umbrella from Mandos, Chainbanger'z, or me at Steily in a couple weeks. I will have a sheet players will be able to mark at check-in to let me know if they are willing to wait and where they'd like to pick up their umbrella.
It's going to be cold out there this weekend, but it should be dry.

Can't wait! I've never played a tournament on a course I haven't seen before. I've never played a tournament in temperatures below 60 F. I've never played a tournament where I've received an umbrella. I've never played a tournament where chili is offered for lunch and lastly I've never played a tournament in Washington. I'm excited.

I have been approached by a few different people looking for a mixed group in Sunday's Phantom Dubs.
No official mixed teams yet, but the door is open. Let me know if you're still interested.

WOW!!!! We couldn't have asked for nicer weather in December. And that is probably why the Chilly Smack registration rose by 150% from about 40 players on November 22 to 112 players on game day.
Thank you all for showing up, this was by far the most players I've had show up for a December event. I felt everything ran quite smooth, a few minutes behind schedule but players were in well before sunset.
Sunday was the exact opposite - we only had a total of 18 teams. This was fine with me - I just chilled by the fire and ate some delicious chili while catching up with a few old friends. And boy did the sun come out on Sunday.
Congratulations to John Anderson & Ming Vang. At the Chilly Smacker, John won pro open & Ming won pro masters. They partnered up for the Phantom Dubs and won that as a team. Way to dominate!!!!
Thank you to all my
Sponsors (http://www.store.northwestsignup.com/sponsors/CSC 2011 sponsors.pdf)
Here are the results for
Phantom Dubs (http://www.store.northwestsignup.com/results/PD 2011 results.pdf)
It was cool- we had players from: Alaska, Ohio, California, Oregon, Eastern Washington, & all over Western Washington (Bellingham to Vancouver). Sean Phillips - you're a trooper for Oregon - nice second place finish, way to keep it tight.
Another tight race- Dana Etienne was barely able to keep Rick Bailey from catching him in the advanced division.
We raised $1342 for EDGE.
$4 a head = $448
additional from pro divisions = $288
additional from advanced divisions = $300
additional from intermediate divisions = $104
raffle = $202
I'm sure I'm forgetting something but until I figure it out-
Good Night & Thanks For Coming Out!!!!!

Thanks for putting on yet another fantastic Steilly tournament. Everything ran smooth, which seems to be the norm for all your events. The umbrella looks great also!
Only comment for next year would be the possibility of adding OB back on the SE Firehouse holes, I think groups could self-monitor it, and it really does add a great challenge element to what is otherwise a substantially easier SE course.

Wow, that's a great turn-out, and a big chunk of change for EDGE! Maybe you could get better numbers out on the Sunday if it were a 3 player scramble. :chinscratch:
