Unfortunately, "it will probably be three days" is all I was able to find out either. You'd think there'd be something on discgolforegon.com -- since it's sort of in their sphere of influence -- but no.

Come on Treelove, you really think I wouldn't look there first? :whistler:The link for the info on your calender doesn't go anywhere. :pullhair:
I just thought maybe the TD would chime in with some SOLID info so people can plan ahead. :seeya:
Thanks

No information is posted because i don't want to make any assumptions on the dates. :D When the dates are set, and registration is open be sure that DGO will be the place for the most important information.
thanks.

Adam,
I could be assuming things here but your interest in some of the specifics of this gig leads me to believe you may want to attend.
If indeed you're ponderin' it, I'd like to suggest you stop and do it.
The info/flyers for this gig will be made public on March 22,2009.
As the sole tournament director of this event, I feel that this is puhlenty of time for folks to make up their minds. :biggrin2:
Oh and on another very, very, very, very large note: Discgolforegon is not even ("sort of") in the same ballpark as the Umpqa Disc Assoc. :nono:
They are two totally different clubs/assoc. with two totally different mission statements and are no way under any "sphere of influence".
:wink2:

This is being done bud, believe you me or me you however it goes.
Nate and DGO's goals are to get involved with disc golf on a larger scale which as a DGO member, I support.
The UDA is still a more grass root, down to earth bunch of peeps who some of us still putt at ribboned trees. (LOVE of the GAME BABY)
Our mission is to continue to build/improve courses and promote the sport.
We have and will continue to work with schools, churches,BSA (sorry SAM), Boys & Girls club of the Umpqua Valley and any other organization which has kids because...............our children are the future of any sport. :yay:

AND would attend ANY event at :whistler: IF care was taken during scheduling.:chinscratch:
The 3-22 event, I can deal with (Winter League Finals) BUT a SOSS event over the top of the Lava Launch is LAME.

Sorry bud,
Would you believe me and not think it lame if I told you that I honestly didn't know of the lava gig when I made the SOSS schedule in January.
As I've done in the last 20 years, I still faithfully look up dates of the larger series type gigs before I make a move.
On that note someone needs to step up to the plate and be a contact for td's/clubs who run, have been running events/series and organize. :whistler:
You know better than I that this stuff needs to be rapped about early on.
Is this an ORS gig? If it is I missed something and I'm even more sorry.
I do appreciate the respect and support I get from the reb's.
believe me you :wink2:

When ALL else fails there is Treelove Calendar that he will, I am sure, post a link to here within a few hrs...
Lava Launch has been on there for MONTHS........AND has been a top 20 national event the past 2 yrs.
AND most likely to much of a "hike" for your old bones..........:o
As St. Coordinator, I have a "Master Calendar" that I keep with ALL PDGA events on the West Coast. I put as many non-sanctioned events that I can find on there as well. I can only "hope" that TD's, sanctioned or not, would check with me before scheduling events. If ONLY to keep conflicts to a minimum. I fully understand that they WILL happen, especially as our sport grows. BUT avoiding conflicts as much as possible just gives the ADDICTS more opportunity to feed the habit.
:jumpspin:
Seeing HOW the only PDGA event in :whistler: is run by someone out of the area..:rolleyes2: I have NO TD contact down there....have any ideas?? :wink2:
We still love you , even IF you dont want us coming to take your money..

Nate Baker and DGO want to run PDGA gigs.
Is the Lava course more extreme than Shasta or Crystal?
I played both of them with no problems. :nahnah:
I couldn't walk for a week afterwards, but I did survive those "hikes".

Nope, I don't do tournaments. My interest is strictly as a moderator of this forum.
As for DGO's "sphere of influence," I just meant that their Web site has a lot of discussion about things that happen south of Eugene... discussion that doesn't always make it onto this board.

Righty on.:)
Most of the discussion that goes on down here doesn't need to be up there, as it might not interest you folks up there as much as it might us folks down here.:biggrin2:
I usually make sure the vital stuff gets posted.:posting:
It's all a good thing brother.
Now please stop reading this forum and go put some links in the links link.
