Are there any?

I dont like hunting for sticks and/or the perfect rock to throw, and I really dont like to give up my disc, what do other people use?

Lol I watched a guy loose his shoes in a tree one time trying to get his disc back... poor guy:slapface:

I found a softball in a tree at Seatac, wedged in the armpit of a bunch of branches... I figured someone was using it to retrieve their disc from the same tree I lost mine in. There was no name or number on the softball, so I stuck it in my bag. I've been carrying it around ever since, and it's come in handy at least half a dozen times over the past 9 months.

Golf balls. Always come out. Easy to throw.

a wrist rocket sling shot, the folding kind so it fits in the pocket of your bag. Save your arm for throwing discs.

If I had a dollar for everytime I muttered, "Chainsaw...." on a disc golf course! :rolleyes2:

Slingshot and a golf ball.
TC Bare carries them and never takes more than 2 shots to knock a disc out of anything.

Guy here in town that took 3 pool pole nets that you used to scoop garbage from your pool and connected them together and leaves it in the back of his toyota. Hes always at glenwood every time i go and he gets 2-3 discs at a time. He said its over 65 feet of extention.

I have seen the sling shot in action and it works very well. IMHO it is the most effective way I have ever seen to get a disc out of a tree. Even when they are way up there.

Lacrosse ball...small enough to carry...oh, just don't throw there too...

Wrist Rockets do the job. Lacrosse balls are the best juggling balls made.

I have seen discs destroyed by wrist rockets too...

No I'm not kidding, but actually it's a 2.5 lbs weight. Don't have to actually hit the disk, just get the rope over the branch and tug a little. Disc comes down and no harm to the tree.

I use this. http://www.stanleytools.com/catalog_images/web_detail/33-895_web_detail.jpgThere is an art to it, very effective. Anything over this distance, slingshot/ baseball.

Wasn't 'wrist rocket' your nickname at one point in time? Perhaps a less dense object like play-dough or pistachios would prevent disc damage.

I've always found the overzealous skinny kid offering to climb the tree for me works pretty well. Otherwise I just throw rocks(with my non-discing, right-arm), or grab a 3-5 ft long stick to throw underhand, end over end. I'm usually pretty good at what I affectionately refer to as the 'Cave-man games'.

Clever idea... the courses in and around Spokane seem to have many opportunities for getting caught up in a tree. There are many more shots where a player must throw over disc-catching trees, which results in more stuck discs. If I regularly played in that area, I'd be much more inclined to carry a sling-shot, measuring-tape, or ball. As it is, I don't get stuck up in trees often enough to carry FRT's.
