NW Doubles Championship

Saturday, Oct 1st at Seatac and Lakewood DGC

The NW Doubles is back with a twist. This year will witness the official sanctioning of this yearly tradition as a part of Chainbangers Club Summer Series. So rally up your partner cuz it’s time!

Divisions and Entry:
Pro - $66 per team
Adv - $46 per team
Int - $36 per team
Women - $46 per team
Old - $46 per team

** The $6 is a result of a $3 per player per team club fees that will be put towards the “Buy back the ‘Tac” effort by the Chainbangers club
** There will be NO $10 PDGA non-member fee.

Format: Seatac DGC will be best shot doubles. Lakewood DGC will be worst drive doubles for pros, and best shot for all other divisions.

Registration/Players Meeting: Registration will all be done on the day of the event and will run from 8:00-8:30am at Seatac DGC Tournament Central. We’ll be starting the first round at 9:00 am

Where: First round at Seatac DGC. Second round at Lakewood DGC.

As a reminder/plea regarding our Summer series - Keith and I had to each put up $2,000 of our own money to buy back the baskets at SeaTac to keep the course alive. At each of our series tournaments, we'll be collecting a small amount per player which all goes straight towards making the payments towards the baskets so I hope you’ll all come out and support our effort to keep SeaTac one of our premiere area courses!

WA State Doubles will be run as a non-sanctioned doubles tournament by Tim and Tyler, last year's winners, on Sunday Oct 2nd at Fort Steilacoom DGC.

Great job Sheila! And congrats to you and Andrew!

Will there be an age protected division or will I need to play against the young guns?

Chainbangerz rocks!

That is exactly what I am looking for; going to steilly from Everett Sat the 10th. Will be playing WA state championship and would love to play this, but am new to the area and am looking for a partner.

I am currently looking for a partner to play the nw doubles and the wa state doubles as well.

The question i have is about this 'old' division. What is the age and is this like the masters, advanced masters, etc?

SheilaT
September 11th, 2011, 10:33 PM
The 'Old' Division will be 40 and up. These 5 divisions will be the only ones offered. Trying to keep things simple.

Nothing better then byop and we'll all see who's got the mojo by starting on hairy ol' seatac...I'll be there for my first try at this tournament thing, what do you call your team if one guy's a 25 year old gunslinger and the other is a wise 50+ year old?

Just a few days away !!! A few short announcements for the NW doubles this Saturday:

Remember, first round at Seatac -- meet at tournament central by hole 8
Second round will start an hour after all cards are turned in at Lakewood - worst drive format for pros only.
Lakewood has undergone some minor redesign... Lots of OBs!
This is a PDGA Sanctioned tournament, so all rules apply!
IMPORTANT: Registration will be done on Saturday morning on a first come first serve basis. Maximum of 72 players (36 teams)! There will be NO 6somes.

Also, anyone still looking for a partner for the advance or pro field? Let me know and I'll put you in contact with a player.

This is gonna be a blast! :cheerleader:

Format: Seatac DGC will be best shot doubles. Lakewood DGC will be worst drive doubles for pros, and best shot for all other divisions.

Is this still right or is it worst shot for all now at Lakewood?

Thank you Sheila for running such a smooth event. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits all day and the weather was kind enough to not unleash its fury on us.

Thanks to Adam and Keith from Chainbangerz for their continued support of our local dg scene. You two guys go above and beyond and it shows. Much appreciated and happy 2 year anniversary today!

Last, thanks to all the travelers who came to play, including guys from Bellingham, Olympia, and the westsound. It is always a pleasure getting to compete against some of the best players around the state!

Looks like Bob and I tied for last scrip, but nobody realized it.

Lesson learned to always always double check the scoreboard at the end of the day even when you don't feel like you played good enough to win anything.

Toby Puttzinski
October 3rd, 2011, 10:47 AM
There's probably still time to fix that, since the team you tied with wasn't there to collect the scrip.

SheilaT
October 3rd, 2011, 10:59 AM
Yup, all four of you guys weren't there! This also means that all 4 of you will be splitting $36... $9 per person. If anyone knows how to get a hold of Miki and his partner, please let them know also that they have scrip waiting for them.

DMajor
October 3rd, 2011, 12:08 PM
Well, I know I was there till the end and I'm pretty sure I watched Miki claim the scrip. No biggie, really just posted as a reminder for everyone to check scores. More eyes = less errors.

It was fun and most importantly glad to help keep the baskets in the ground at the tac. Stopped there on my way home and snuck in a good round with a few others nutty enough to keep playing. I never get tired of playing that course and losing the baskets would've been a terrible thing for Seattle disc golf.

Sorry for confusion - we did not collect any scrip because we took off right after the round due to dog sitting responsibilities and since we thought it was all going to the basket fund anyway.
