Hello everyone!

I would like to announce that this year marks the third annual Hope Open!

It will be held on October 29, 2011 at Willamette Park in Corvallis.
2 rounds of disc golf during Halloween weekend, raising money for the American Cancer Society. What more could you ask for?

For those of you who don't know, here are some aspects of this event:

~ The Hope Open is a fundraiser event for the American Cancer Society
~ 25% of entry fees goes towards ACS
~ 100% of Honor Signs proceeds go to ACS
~ HUGE raffle (also benefiting ACS)
~ A women-friendly event (reserves half of the spots for ladies until 10/15)

Attached is the flyer for this event and here (http://store.northwestsignup.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=38&zenid=13c212f001da81dcd6eb31ed2dfacc54) is the link for online sign ups.

Who's going down for this? I'm wanting to a room at Super 8 in Corvalis (a mile from the course) and wouldn't mind splitting the cost with someone. For two nights it would be about $75 each. Let me know! (soon)

The rival clubs meeting on Oct.29th has moved to Willamette disc golf course after the Hope open due to conflicting events schedule. CCDG will be providing dinner for the tournament directors that form the committee of T.D.s and start the Badasssednesssss!

The Hope Open is one of the must do tourneys each year for me. I would never take attention away from the HOPE OPEN, but it is a convenient place for the committee of tournament directors for the "RIVAL CLUBS" to meet and put faces to the names. Our plan is that after the HOPE OPEN a few clubs T.D.s will meet up for dinner on Capital City Disc Golf's dime and the committee of T.D.s will be born. RIVAL CLUBS series is a club of clubs to compare courses condition, events organization, players talent in various divisions all together by forcing clubs groups to play other clubs events for points. How it will score is to be decided by the committee of T.D.s. The first step is to form a committee of T.D.s. Thank you all for reading this post and giving the "RIVAL CLUBS" a chance to strengthen relationships between various clubs and help each other boost turnout for all disc golf event.

Yes. Letting the TD know of your team before hand helps with preparations for the event.

Guess what?!?!

This event is currently at 54 registered.
17 of those are women.
2 of those are MPO.

In past years:

2009 Total: 62
2009 Female: 20
2009 MPO: 11

2010 Total: 65
2010 Female: 12
2010 MPO: 11

Now what does this mean?

26 spots left
9 of those spots are probably going to be MPO

Don't wait to sign up, we're filling up fast!! :D

Last year it was one round best shot & one round trick or treat. What is trick or treat you ask well each hole will be different some examples from last year are:

Putting out with a mini.
Having to throw off the tee with a roller.
Picking your driver from your opponents bag.
Your opponent picking the disc from your bag that you will drive with.
Throwing with your off hand.
Playing the entire hole with one disc.

I am not sure what they will have in store for us this year, but it is guaranteed to be fun. :yay:

Thanks again to Shavonne and all of the volunteers for putting on another great event.

I noticed on the PDGA results that Nate doesn't have his PDGA number linked and also that the two rounds have different ratings even though the weather was pretty much the same. I'm guessing this will all be addressed for the next update, I just wanted to bring it up.

Again, excellent job with the event. I had a lot of fun.

I got my scrip on Saturday, but didn't have time to redeem there. When/where will the WDGC be next for me to redeem?

Thanks

The PDGA updated ratings today, but I noticed that for the Hope Open, only the first round is on there. Does anyone know why this is?
