Hello Everyone,
We are proud to announce the return of the Willamette Valley Winter Series. After our success last year this season is sure to be even better. I have put together a tentative schedule of dates that do not conflict with the Southern Oregon Winter Series (Thanks Yose!!). This means that you Die-Hard winter golfers will be able to play 20+ events this season. I'm going to start gathering all the permits necessary to play at the County and City Parks again. Please stay tuned for venues, work parties and other exciting information.
I'm really looking forward to this year as I am not going to play. It's my goal to capture the Series with photos and videos for production of a DVD. Showcasing our dedication and hard-nosed approach during the wet winter months. This means that all players will have to sign an insurance release and the rights to their image in order to play. Legal mumbo jumbo mostly lol. :yay: (please let me know your thoughts on this or if you'd like to be excluded from any media)
Just like last year players will need to make at least 5 of the 9 Series events to qualify for the Series Payout. The top 5 point totals will be added up to declare divisional champions. In a nutshell the winner of each event gets 100 points, second receives 99 points, third gets 98 points and so on. Get in touch with me if you'd like more information on the points structure of the Series.:shooting:
Thanks for all the support!!

Hey everyone,
I've been working 50 hours a week at two jobs and just recently moved into a new place and got a puppy. Life's a bit crazy right now. Sorry for the lack of communication.:bricks:
We are definitely going to kick off the season on November 12th. The course we are playing came down to a few different factors. I was hoping for Alton Baker but there was a lot of confusion with the Occupy protest going on there. Perkins Peninsula was brought up and then had to be put on the back burner until later in the year..... :pullhair:
So to allow some more time to finalize everything with the various parks departments we will start at Cottage Grove on November 12th. There will be fliers up at all the area courses by the end of this weekend.:biggrin2:
I appreciate all your support and look forward to bringing you some awesome Disc Golf this winter. Cheers,

ps.
Please don't hesitate to call me if you have any questions or would like more information on Sponsorships. The Willamette Valley Winter Tour is aimed at being a laid back and fun (yet competitive on some levels :pullhair:) atmosphere to hone your skills over the winter.

Excellent! Those rating estimates look pretty accurate to me..
I don't know if more propagators would help refine the accuracy, but there are a few more players with current PDGA ratings you could include:
Open Men:
Lee Fouste 966
Cloud Pemble 935
Roy Albert 916
Advanced Men:
Warren Hollinshead 895

I wish my rating was 984 (Ben Chilton), but alas, I am still in the ranks of advanced at a 943 (I think). I appreciate the vote of confidence though!!! Thanks to Andrew and crew for putting on another WVWS, looking forward to some Perkins pandemonium.

Thanks Ben, and thanks everyone for the feedback. My method of obtaining player rankings was a little scatter-shot. The PDGA only uses propagators if their ranking is based on 8 or more rounds, so I stuck to that at first... but rankings can also include rounds from previous years, a level of research I was not prepared to undertake. I'll shore things up for the next event.

Here is the second stop in the Willamette Valley Winter Series. We will need all the portable baskets we can get so please call your friends. The plan is to put 18 holes within the footprint that was recently approved for a permanent course. Signups from 8-9AM, Player's Meeting at 9:15, Tee-off at 9:30. Please comment on this page or send me a message if you have a basket(s) to bring. Thanks.

Hey everyone I am excited to announce that we are playing Alton Baker Park next SUNDAY for the second stop in the willamette valley winter series. Remember to wear your Ducks (WTD!) and Beavers gear as this is CIVIL WAR! We are sharing the park with the track community as they are hosting a relay on Pre's Trail and throughout the other side of the park at NOON. This is a great chance to show how we will coexist. :)

We moved this Series to a more prominent location in the forum because of interest and strong attendance and then all info about it stopped coming.
Yes, I know it's all on Facebook. I guess the internet has officially been assimilated. :(

Willamette Valley Winter Series #3 UPDATE!!! Hey Everyone, here is the latest news. The plan is to play PERKINS PENINSULA this Saturday, December 10th. I have to go by the Lane County Parks Department today with proof of insurance and the fees for all the Series events. After I get all the particulars in order I can announce the locations for the rest of the series. Spread the Word!!! THANKS!!

ps. Sorry for the lack of info. Been a crazy fall/winter with the new puppy and the parks dept raising fees etc. I should have the series set for the 7 events remaining. Cheers,

Hey Everyone!
We are doing big things this year and hope you all can come check it out. A huge pot of chili and cornbread has become a tradition and the courses are awesome. Come on over to eugenediscgolf.com to get all the information you need for the series. I figured it was much easier than having all the updated information all fragmented in a forum.
Also, please take note that we have shifted the dates of the last few events in the series. Here is a flier that will give you all the information. Cheers,

Hey Andrew, I am wondering why I (Ben Chilton) was excluded from Perkins on the point standings. Although I didn't finish very high, I did do better than a zero!

Just wanted to invite anyone and everyone out to Orchard Point this morning to flag out the layout. We are going to meet around 9:30-10:00 and just walk around. Bring your discs and a portable basket if you feel like it :)......
I've given some thought on the format for this Sunday and how we can relax it a bit for the holiday.... We are making the following revisions barring any acts of civil unrest.....
- Sign in from 8:30-9:30AM, Player's Meeting at 9:45 and Tee-Off at 10AM sharp.
- We will be playing only 2 rounds of 12 holes (24 total) with a Lunch Break between.
(this 12 hole course plays over 4,000ft and takes nearly 2 hours to complete.)
- Ring of Fire putting game after all the cards are turned in/before awards.
(We should be able to get folks home before 4PM this way as it's getting dark fast!)
Also, don't forget about the CHILI and CORNBREAD for lunch!!! $5 for a huge bowl and buffet bread.....We are on the north side of Fern Ridge this weekend and there isn't much to eat out there. Come support the series and let us do the cooking ;)
Happy New Year!!!

Sounds like a good plan to me, my two baskets and I will be there. This was a very challenging and fun layout last year, and this year looks like it wont be nearly as cold!
