I found this amusing, and a little irritating: The name and number in the ad have been intentionally left out of this post.

disc golf discs best prices in town - $1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
YOU HEARD RIGHT!!!!!!!
TIRED OF OVERPRICED DISCS

*DX-$7
*PRO-$10
*CHAMPION-$13
*STAR-$14

First of all, I'm not sure what discs this person is selling for $1, but they sure aren't listed here.

Secondly - the line "TIRED OF OVERPRICED DISCS" is a little irritating. $17 for a Star disc is not overpriced, it is the MSRP. It's what the market will bear. If that was truly overpriced, people wouldn't buy it and the retailer would be forced to lower his prices or go out of business.

Just a little ranting here. I think I'll head out for lunch and search for some $1.00 discs. :biggrin2:

The $1 headline is to suck you in, I've seen this on many other things on CL too.

But yes I agree it is missleading and not right.

This person is not new to this rodeo and has long sold discs under MSRP which has really angered the manufacturers, actually.

Minis are discs and I know that he sells them for $1. This is called a Lost Leader and, while not totally on the up and up, is not a misleading ad, I don't think.

The other thing is people who have no tech knowledge believe they have to fill in the price field to enter an ad on Craigslist. They do not realize the field can be left blank. This is common for a lot of sellers who post ads with multiple items.
