Did you know sarcasm is the lowest form of humor? So, is there still room?
I have changed the format of this event to accomodate more teams.
Since it is a casual event there is about 6 hours of time to get in 2 rounds of 18-
you can go get lunch when you want, eat breakfast before, just about whatever what you want to do in conjunction with golfing.
plus good OR beer!:chug:
So yes, there is still room Smo- you gettin' a team together?
Please post here your team so all can see it- send me a notice too yo-
it's gonna be great to see all you guys again-:seeya:
spread the word about the monster cause it's gonna be more of a social event than a regimented tourney-

Just a reminder to get your team registered-
We have keg(s) of good oregon beer, custom dyed discs for CTP's, and some sweet trophies to 1st place in each division-
I realize that the Beaver is just a weekend after this event and some players are going to be too busy for the monster. But this event shoud be a great opportunity to get out and play with some good buddies, drink some good suds and lay claim to the world renowned monster title--:wink2:

I haven't gotten all of the swag together yet, but I have a plan for this week.
I would like to thank a few people for their efforts in this event-
Fason Designs has made the trophies here in Worland, WY-
George, Gawain, Darr for hauling the brew- bring $1 to partake.
Troy G for the artwork on the CTP discs-
Tennessee for transporting the said discs-
Depot for the great price on the said discs, for securing the park, all of the food efforts (Tasty!) bringing the trailer, taking the script, and all of the logistical advice- hmmm missing anyone???
OH YEAH:cheerleader: Bev- the wife for all of her support, patience, and the ability to just shut me out as I go on and on and on- y'know what I mean:o

call me old school- back in the day it was; am, adv am, and open-
here's a question for you.
according to the dictionary the word intermediate is as follows-
–adjective 1. being, situated, or acting between two points, stages, things, persons, etc.: the intermediate steps in a procedure.
2. of or pertaining to an intermediate school.
3. Automotive. mid-size.
according to that definition then wouldn't the ADVANCED div be the intermediate?
so then, what division are you sigining your team up for Scott?

that's fine, but to call you an am seems wrong-
I am far away from the big time show you guys have out there now. I seem to remember am's being closer to beginners then to open players. but with all of the events using PDGA ratings to seed players, I guess you guys know best-
I am fine with using that rating system for the event-
just know that I will be playing advanced even though my rating is far below anyone else that has signed up for this event. furthermore I would like the event to cater to the players, good times, and fun-

I think players that have not formed a team by the time of the event should show up anyway and form teams amongst themselves. Of course, you better ask the TD if "day-of" registration will be allowed....
From what I hear, this is going to be a ton of fun. I did not make it to the last one, but I remember having fun showing Jabber the game that Papa showed us: 3-headed monster! It is a fun 3-man team format! I am playing this year, so it should be even MORE fun!
There will be a keg of Hopworks Organic IPA, $1.00, (or more if you can afford it please) buys your way in to delicious hoppy nirvana!

Hey TreeLove or anyone else with knowledge... DO you mind explaining the format? Is it just single and you accumulate your three scores or is it like doubles with three? Is it best shot? Alternate? God forbid Worst? Thanks, I have an advanced team that is willing to come and play, but we arent sure what the format is. Thanks
Trozzle!!!
May 13th, 2009, 12:42 AM
I could be wrong, I have only played this once, but I believe the format is: All 3 players drive. you choose the best drive. Whoevers drive was chosen sit out for the remainder of the hole while the other 2 finish it out. You can only use each persons drive 6 times for the 18 holes. anybody? correct me if I am wrong.
Darr

18 holes or more not sure yet :chinscratch:
Either way a number of holes divided by three because each player on the team gets the same number of drives.
Once you choose the drive you intend to use that player sits out and the other two finish the hole doubles style.
When you score the hole you put the initial of the teammate who's drive you used.
Once that teammates drives are gone that's it!! Strategy is HUGE!!!

I had a blast at each event-
My apologies to Joe G for my less than spectacular performance at Dabney-
2 rounds at Timber and a climate change cold will do that to you.
Gotta say - Hornings is a sweet place for disc golf. I can't wait for Stewart Stubbs to get rollin'. I can already see how I will need 3 weeks next year.
Anyway there will be alot of single golfers needing to get on teams. so come on out and hook it up!
