Do you mean hardest to get a 3 on every hole, or hardest to get the listed par?

To score what at?
Rooster East comes to mind as being one of the easiest courses to score at... if you're into that kinda thing. :whistler:
I would say Milo is the hardest course we have in the state now that Oakway is gone.

Did you mean rooster west? rooster east is in the super thick forest and very difficult to even see 70% of the baskets you are throwing at.

If you're looking to score some meth, I'd have to nominate Hoover Park in Newberg.

Or Rockwood.. We heard gunfire within a block from the park 2 different night golf sessions in 1 week.

I've heard Tadmor is difficult.
It is, but it's not harder than McIver.
Of course, part of it depends on your throwing style; my best shots are the 100- to 250-footers, and I found Tadmor much easier than did my friend who relies on long drives. McIver favors big arms, Tadmor favors finesse.

I haven't been to lucky at any of the courses. Maybe I'm too busy playing disc golf and having my wife with me doesn't help either. That, AND being old I'm sure is a detriment. :whistler:

Sain Scoggins (Hagg) is pretty hard. I think overall, though, McIver is harder. Gwillim - whose skills I respect a lot - finally managed even par (81) at McIver. Given that it is a 27 and Hagg just 18, I gave the nod to Milo.
You're right, though... that's a HARD course. I am within 6 strokes of the record there, though, and am nowhere near that at Milo, I am sure.

I think McIver is definitely harder than Hagg. The meadow holes at Hagg really aren't difficult at all.
(I gotta get out there before March 1 so I can save the $5 parking fee!)

Hagg is really hard!
Hard to park the car when the road crews plow 1-2 foot snow drift in front of the parking lot and you are dumb enough to show up in a clapped out Ford Taurus. It's just as much fun getting back onto the road.

What the hell does that mean? I was just asking what Eric meant by "downgraded."
And I'm not saying I'm going to birdie them; especially not #17. But the fact is, they're mostly out in a wide-open meadow with very few obstacles. And it sounds like with the changes they made, some of them are even further from the obstacles.
I just think Hagg has a tough reputation because of the woods holes (including #18), some of which are downright sadistic.

The hardest thing at Hagg is finding the next tee.
Adam Schneider
February 18th, 2009, 09:20 AM
That's certainly true between 8/9, 9/10, and 14/15. A map (http://www.oregondiscgolf.com/course_maps/Hagg_Lake.html) is a big help.

there are/were a couple of walk abouts that were unneeded in between holes....but this statement above is "FALSE"

Washington County's page (http://www.co.washington.or.us/deptmts/sup_serv/fac_mgt/parks/hagglake.htm) says "first Saturday of March through the Sunday before Thanksgiving" -- so it may actually be March 7 this year.

Hagg was significantly harder than milo in it's former config. And the record is at least-2. Playing course par assuming hagg is all par 3 and milo has 4's and 5's.

Not sure about you guys but damn Benson is a pain in my butt!
Okay so maybe not, but Hagg being hard is because of unnatural fairways in the wooded holes, not much for other factors, in my opinion. Considering there was only 1 open hole I didn't birdie in my 2 rounds there, and that being 17 (combined between the two rounds not in each round, mind you.)

A -2 down by James "The Kid" Moore at a little gathering Michael Raymond put together in '07 (the old placement) is the best i have heard.
Playing as often as i do i would love to see a three or four down knowing its absolutely possible.
If any of yawl are feeling strong let me know and i will meet up to film it.

Well, I played Hagg today with a couple of friends. Eric's right; the meadow holes have been severely downgraded. The baskets for #2, #7, #8, and #17 (and maybe #5) have been moved significantly away from the edge of trees for no apparent reason. The only holes where none of us managed a three were #10 and #18.
And somehow we missed #13 altogether... twice! (Realized this while looking at the map on the way home.)

i've heard alot of people doing that. i think hagg is harder myself, i also think thats why it does't get the respect it desrves, it's to bad they changed things up, that's what made it so good even on the open holes if you messed up just right good luck finding your disc, when you have a bad ass course keep it bad ass, there are lots of easier courses to play not very many rough and tough courses, i also have had a -2 , i basicly lived there when it first opened, i couldn't wait to bring people there because if your familiar with the course you have a great advantage. and the best thing about hagg is that you need both long and finnese to score well, great course wish they would have a tourey there soon:rockon::cool2:

it would take a shuttle driver, a couple of porti potties, you can look acsross the edge of the lake to the other side and the see the parking and restrooms and picnic area to researve cant be more than a quarter mile to the parking lot i've parked there many times and had to walk to make sure my car was safe didn't seem to take that long to walk . it,s my second favorite course behind whistlers bend so i'd play no matter what and it would be good for sales because nobody would be driving away at lunch time.:cool2:

With a new layout Hagg could be one of the best courses in the country.
Elevation, open, wooded, it could have it all.
Besides the clear cutting its absolutely beautiful and could easily be 27 holes if not 36.
I know most of y'all (not yawl) have got to see the potential out there.
1) Redesign
2) Tee pads
3) P.D.G.A. events
4) Throw it in the Oregon series

Matt, I completely agree. I think that you should add a 5) though. Parking.
The course has to be sitting on 35-45 acres. It could EASILY support two 18 hole courses and would be able to offer the best of what many other courses in our area offer.
That said, I don't think it is as hard as Milo. :)

Actually, one of the ToPs I ran was at Hagg. The biggest one, actually. I believe we had 62 players that day. Jim Nims and crew were instrumental in making it a smooth day.

Just got back home from Camp Tadmor... WOW, anyone want to try it out soon, I suggest you head out there. David from Camp Tadmor was awesome in communicating with us and he even put "Oregon DDGA Welcome" on TWO Marquee signs! Holey Moley, talk about the extra mile! And insurance was only less than a dollar a person, talk about cheap! This course is very true to your game type. Alot of accuracy needed, there are only 1 or two holes that were on the "throw and hope ya get lucky" types, the rest demanded your focus and control. But it was beautifully manicured and upkept, I expected to see alot of debris and fallen trees from storms and there was quite a bit of fallen trees but almost none in the disc flight paths the whole way around, wow! David didn't say nothing about actually using manpower to clear off the paths, but I know he did alotttt of work on the course, so i encourage everyone to call up David at Camp Tadmor and ask when you can come play the course once *you will want to play twice, trust me* to take advantage of the cleaniness of the course. He plays disc golf himself as well. The only thing they ask is of course, no smoking, no alcohol, no drugs, and no pets, and that trip is worth it. I have been humbled by Tadmor.

It doesn't really LOOK any different than the old layout; it's just that a few baskets that used to be near the edge of the woods (#2, #4, #7, #8, #17) are now out in the wide-open. And a couple of teepads have "merged." The woods holes haven't changed at all.

But I understand that the drawback is that no smoking,no alcohol, no drugs and it doesn't open during the summer season due to the fact that it is private camp. But it was worth trip for me! If you are willing to abandon those no's for the day, then it will be worth to give the course a try!
