Please follow the link, read the proposal and then take the survey. I asked the City of Eugene staff who sent out the request for feedback if they also wanted feedback from people who did not attend the meeting but are interested in a course at Alton Baker and he said they are very interested!

Please read the proposal, be respectful and clear in your comments, and state your opinions!

West Alton Baker Park Disc Golf Proposal

If you have feedback about the proposal, please visit

and take the survey.

Over 50 attendees at our Feb 23rd meeting, but only 23 survey responses received so far. Your comments count!

Sent mine in. Really hope this becomes a reality. What better place for a course, and I really think Eugene needs it too. The one course in town gets insanely busy!

Finished. Question?

What private vendors/ non-profit has come forward to accept the responsibilities for the course and will their commitment or lack there of determine the fate of the course? What is the length of contract on a potential private vendor/non-profit? Will that entity have the option to set up a pro shop/vendors area to recoup costs of course maintenance and graffiti?

directed to anyone in the know or contact with the city!

At the last meeting, City staff said that the contract details were still being finalized. Once the form of the contract and what will be included or possible is decided there will be a RFP process and then we'll see who if anyone makes a bid for the contract. Length of the contract and what kind of vending beyond course fees would be a part of that process.

The question was asked at the meeting about what would happen if no one wanted to take on the contract and the response was the City would consider any proposal from a group or entity to "run" the course. My sense is that the " $ maintenance neutral" concept is the most important thing. You can see my long winded post on some of these topics on the other thread about the meeting.

Thanks for taking the survey Flash!

If this course were in Roseburg, I'd be all over it. I have a very hard time accepting that there would not be an interested party willing to take responsibility for such an opportunity. Has The EDGC considered bidding for the chance, and assigning club members paid work schedules, volunteer work schedules, or even scrip paid schedules? Just thinkin' out loud, as usual.

Just took survey...to all those who have been hard at work making this course happen, I salute you! A course at Alton would be soooo sweet!

Word on the street is that there will be at least one or two folks interested. A lot will hinge on what the city will allow the vendor to sell... it would be hard to live off of just greens fees in the winter. I think that if the city allows enough leeway for it to be financially viable there will be somebody to fill the niche.

I think that the club would be happy to set up a course maintenance plan (i.e. pick up trash cans, keep course clean) but would not be able to provide the constant course supervision that the city seems to want.
