First, I want to thank everyone that has offered support and encouragement to me over this last week....I really love being a disc golfer.
Second, I'm gonna be part of the live broadcast with Discgolfplanet.tv at The Memorial in Arizona. I encourage all of you to watch and participate inn the conversation that's happening during the broadcast on Facebook.
I'm packing and leaving tomorrow for Arizona. Broadcasting begins Thursday at Fountain Hills. I hope I don't let the Northwest down and I hope I get to put a little spotlight on one of our fellow disc golfers.
See ya on the flip side:)

Great coverage so far! My only suggestion would be....MORE REBECCA!
It sounded to me like the disc that hit the spotter bounced off the tree first. I don't think it split him open though cause they showed a crowd around him just a minute after (taking pictures, of course!) and you could see the color coming in already but it wasn't bleeding. Hope he's OK either way.
Can't wait for tomorrow's round!

I don't think it was a driver. Based on the damage I'm guessing some kind of mid range. Roc maybe?
Bryon_Harris
March 3rd, 2011, 06:10 PM
I got hit with a driver right in the back at a tourney lately and for some reason I barley even felt it. It felt like somebody lobbed a putter at me. I think it must have been because the disc was at the very end of it's flight. After hitting me the disc landed in bounds by less than a foot.

Hey everybody----
Snap, Marcus, and all the NW disc golfers that are staying in this house want to thank you for all your good wishes and praise.
Snap and Marcus are playing really well. I'm very proud of them. Tomorrow is their final championship round at Fountain Hills. I'm sure they are going to tear it up.
Today was a real eye opener for me. I didn't realize how much work it took to broadcast a live show. It takes a lot and i hope you are enjoying it. I stumbled a little today because we never knew when they were cutting to me. I think we got that figured it out and I hope I do a lot better tomorrow.
The sun is bright so the sunglasses will probably not come off.
I guess I got my tagline today with "Frauline of the Fairway" I will probably be hearing that for a while. I hope I made you guys proud and I hope I do a lot better tomorrow. I am going to try to post to Facebook when I can---my phone died today and I couldn't post. And we lost a camera today but we will work it out. Keep watching and interact with the Facebook feed----it was really nice to read all the nice compliments.
Thanks again and I will see you tomorrow:)

The guy who got hit said it didn't hit the tree first, but I think it did. It made a really sick sound if it didn't, and the damage didn't add up for a direct hit (IMHO). Maybe I will try to find evidence of that on Saturday.
Anyway, I think GG was throwing something with the speed of a teebird.

Thanks for the support guys! Nathan and I are getting prepped for our last round...both of us are battling some injuries, I suffered a pull and something with my hip halfway through yesterdays round...it kept me from creating a really flat drive so I'm having a couple issues with technique. He and I went to hot tub this morning and that seems to have helped a little. He's in a good position to get some hardware and I have to hope to have a great round and get some help with others making mistakes if I'm gonna leave with some hardware. We'll see what happens! Enjoy the coverage!

I know up close and personal what it feels like to get hit in the forehead on hole #2 at lunchtime 3min. Befor the ice bowl started in 06' by huk labs Mr Jay Harbour. Jordan was standing right in front of me, the disc flew over the top of his head and hit me over my right eye (by the way it was a monster) the next thing I remember I'm on the ground looking up at the sky. And the one thing I will never forget is the sound it made hitting my skull. I was sure glad to see the spotter get up after his misfortune. Great job Marcus & Nathan you guys have worked hard for all your success, it will be fun to watch you in the pros:trophy::trophy:

Just a little tidbit of information about the Fountain Hills AM scoring--Fountain Hills is a par 55 course and I looked at combined scoring for Fountain Hills and found that, out of all Adv players, there were only 3 players in the entire division who shot under par for their combined Fountain Hills rounds...one of them is...YOURS TRULY!!! Myself, the Advanced division winner and I think a guy who finished 28th each shot a combined -2 for our rounds! How about that stat! :shooting:

Marcus,
So you handled the OB shorter course with the wind and water but had trouble at the longer course. You of all people don't have trouble off the tee so what do you think held you up at Vista? Not to point out anything but you had the worst score of the top twenty at vista and still finished in seventh so clearly your proficiency of the fountains course let you make up ground after that second round.

Flash, you are very correct and I knew that stat as well (worst top 20 score at Vista stat) and I appreciate the question!...the issue is that (1) I had practiced Vista and not accounted for the wind that showed up there during our actual round and threw some bad early shots that should be easy birds (2) I am not properly conditioned, right now, for warm weather and long courses--this is why I usually falter at BSF 2nd round (3) Living in Bend (overstable environment) doesn't allow me to properly adjust to the air stability (this could be why I'm an AM) and I was constantly trying change drivers. (4) Around hole 10 I pulled my groin and was having hip issues which wasn't allowing me to settle into my drives and use proper technique. Also, I didn't weather acclimate like I did last year (I did sauna and steam room exercises to adjust) so I got pummelled by the 65 degree per day temp change from Bend. Hind sight is 20/20 and I should have prepared better for that course and if I would have prepared better then I could have potentially placed better--Also, Vista has OB's as well and I was unfortunate enough to find I think 6 OB's during my Vista round. These were my 1st tourney rounds and probably 12-15th rounds in 7 months after coming back from injury...
