Columbia Gorge Disc Golf is happy to bring you another fun filled competitive non sanctioned touney. Last years event was a blast and so will the 2011 Amnesia Open. We had 80 people compete at last years event and hope to have a few more this year. Tee pads will be in on all 18 holes along with some layout changes. Cost is 20 bucks and as always there will be plenty of beer and BBQ on hand for cheap. Working out the players pack and will post when its done. Last year thanks to Amnesia Brewing and the great disc golf community CGDG made enough money to install tee pads. This year we are shooting for tee signs and benches. I will post info as I get it. Please pm me if you are going to make it. Would love to get a ball park head count.

So far the players pack includes a Tshirt and an Amnesia pint glass. We wont be doing discs quite yet. Also there are tons of CTPs! Last year there were 2 per division per round. Again this is a non sanctioned event so beer drinking is allowed during play! Also would like to start an annual swap meet at this event. We all have plastic and other DG related stuff we dont use. Lets get together and save each other some money with a Buy, Swap, Trade sideshow at Bonneville. There will be plenty of tables and time. Event will be two rounds and in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge so you may just want to stay for a Dubs round later of just keep on enjoying to beer and BBQ. Am trying to create a layed back environment were some great golf is thrown down. Please come enjoy the day with us as is has always been a great event!

Lewis and Clark R.V. Park is half a mile from the course and also offers tent camping. All sites have water and electric. Cost is $20 per night for 4 people and $2.00 for additional persons. The place is never full and is in a very nice setting.

The official connection to Amnesia Brewing is the fact that the owner happens to live in Stevenson WA. I have seen him in Walking Man before!

The reason Amnesia brewing is involved with disc golf in the Gorge is that the owners are F***ING awesome!!!!!! Walking Man our local brewery not even close. I also thought that since most of our golfers are from PDX it was a nice connection. I approached Walking Man a couple years ago and they wanted nothing to do with the course or disc golf. Kevin from Amnesia goes above and beyond supporting disc golf in the Columbia Gorge. Last year his beer alone generated over $500 for the tee pads you will be playing on. Amnesia is a huge friend to disc golf and I urge all golfer to frequent their brew pub as often as possible.

Amnesia Open is $20.00 entry fee which includes a tee shirt and a commerative pint glass. If you have never played out at Bonneville this will be a great time to do it as all cement tee pads will be laid and we will be utilizing a new lay out. It is also a casual and very fun event.

The baskets on the far side of the course will be pulled on June 12th for the final pour June 13th. They will not be put back until Friday morning June 17th. The reason for this? Last time we poured some really cool people cut through the barriers and played on my not so dry pads. Unfortunatly there are factions within our sport who think things happen by magic and nobody really "works" to build disc golf, so good people suffer for this. I am sorry but will do my best to get those baskets back in ASAP! So basically, you have until next Sunday to play the two new holes by the river.

Thank you for your CTP donation. If I could play the Tahoe event I would prob skip my event as well! Looks like there is quite a bit of interest in this event. I am excited for that. I love to show that we have a strong DG community in the Gorge. Monday is the final pour and I cant wait to have this all be over with. Three years of fundraising and we have tee pads on all 18 at Bonneville. I cant wait for people to try them out and get some feed back.

June 13th, 2011, 08:01 PM
The pour went well today and I am beyond happy to report that Bonniville has concrete tee pads on all 18 holes!!!!!!!!! Also due to the size and layout of our course there will be plenty of mandos and O.B. to keep everyone out of harms way during the tounament. I am compling a comprehensive flyer to hand out to everone that describes how each hole plays. The course has also been renumbered to flow much smoother.

Yeah that might be helpful.
I usually dance around par at lunchtime, average probably +8-10 at dabney (though i have parred every whole there at least once) and find a few too many trees at pier for me to keep score very often there. I just shot maybe a +15 or something at timber but I played like complete garbage. I blame the hangover.
I'd like to play with some better players so I can hopefully learn a few things but not be a nuisance.
Thanks!

Anything else we should be thinking about? Any idea who is coming out to play Pro? Sounds like a good time at a fun course.

Those two player alone will crush me but hey, nonsanctioned! Appreciate the CTPs and you helping out Gawain to make this happen. Painting tee numbers and distance on pads today. Two days left till the tourney!!.. Course is looking good. All tee pads are now concrete and have hole numbers and distance painted on them. Just a reminder. . . This event is for FUN!!! Please come out and enjoy your day at a fun course in a beautiful environment. The golf will be high quality with a laid back attitude and atmosphere. Paitence will have to be employed as this is a compact course. I have done my best to ease the congestion of events past but the course is what it is so there is still at least one area where congestion may occur. Most of us are in the middle of our PDGA season and I would like to have this event viewed as a break. Play great golf, relax and have FUN!!!!!!!!!!
