Now that I have my PDGA# I want to get into some tourneys but not shure what direction to go.. I do want to play the 3po at Milo and try to get into the Beaver State Fling. NAD is on the list and the FT. Steilicoom open too.
I am willing to travel as far as McMinville,OR in the south and Faragut park in Idaho. Also anything at Lucky Mudd and Dailiwood(sp?)

I would apreciate some input into the "must play" tourneys for 2011 as this will be my first tournament play sence 1992..
So far for 2011 I played in the White River Ice Bowl- badly I might add but I did play 2 rounds on the blue t-pads in the rain and loved every minute of it!!

Not PDGA sanctioned, but the 2nd Annual WOUDGC Fundraiser Tournament is March 12 in Dallas (a little further than Mcminnville). Last year was a lot of fun and this year is sure to be better.

My suggestions:

M3PO - Which you mentioned.
Anything at Whistlers Bend
Aloha Sushi Classic
Rose City Open
Next Adventure Amateur Championships
Lava Launch at Mt Bachelor. (If you can handle the rough terrain)
ORDGC: if you can manage to qualify... (FYI: I am super-biased on this one)

Aww... hell, there are so many great events in our area these days, you almost can't go wrong.

I would certainly try and get into the Rose City Open and the Beaver State Fling, both are great tournaments, I'll also recommend the Pine Jam, I thought that was the most under-attended event last year, considering the level of fun and professionalism displayed. I also recommend any of the 4 Fort Steilacoom PDGAs, especially the Fort Steilacoom Open in July (I think). Those two courses, in full tourney mode are a tremendous test of your overall golf game.

Ya I do want to play the Sushi clasic. I was reading up on that tourney earlier.. I would realy like to split my tourneys between Washington and Oregon. Throwing in some Idaho for a mixer..
I haven't played any eastern Washington courses yet so thats a goal for 2011..
As long as I keep my focus on 2011 tourneys I can aford to play every 2 weeks of the year.

I would have to add Daylightsavings2 at Mcminnville,Eugene Celebration,Calapooia Classic,Willamette Open and throw in any of the Mountain Series and you should have a full itinerary:cheers:

Lilac City Open (great test of one's abilities since it involves good old 4 Mounds)
Faragut Open (once again, great test since Faragut has three great 18 holes)
Aloha Sushi Classic (going this year for the first time but I watched last years)
Flippen Ze Disc 3 (if they have it, it should be one of the best of the year)

Of course
Beaver State Fling
Rose City Open
Archie Bonds Charity Open (usually for Cancer Care Northwest, during the summer, at Highbridge Park in Spokane)
Howliewood

If you happen to be over by Corbin Park during league rounds (usually every other wednesday starting in March), stop by and play a round. Corbin is such a great course for how little land it actually sits on.

I agree with:
GNO
3PO
BSF
RCO
NAAC
ORDGC
EC
WO

Those are all top notch events that are very well run, and just well awesome :yay:

There are a couple of other ones I have not seen mentioned though. If you know of any ladies that like to play, or would like to learn how to play don't forget about the 2011 Chick Flick August 13th & 14th at Horning's Hideout in North Plains Oregon. We had over 75 ladies take part last year. Our event is one of the largest ladies only events in the courtry.

Also the Hope Open at the end of October that takes place at Willamette disc golf course in Corvallis is another really fun event that combines a PDDA C tier event with a fun doubles event the following day. This event is a charity fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. :yay:

Out of the tournaments that I've played, the Lava Launch was easily the most exciting, sickest, and most memorable. It's pretty hard to top three days of doubles at Whistler's Bend though, if you're able to make it that far south. Four Mounds is my favorite course in Washington, so I'd definitely agree on the Lilac City Open as well.

There is the possibility of Dalaiwood being one of the 3 courses for this year's Whiners in the Woods tournament (the other 2 being NAD and Kitsap Fairgrounds). Scott did Howliewood last year, so I'd say it's unlikely to be this year too.

I have a couch or a floor to offer you, except that it's 39.5mi/57minute drive according to Google... In reality is only a 45minute drive (if you go 60) but that road has been known to be slow during certain times of the day/year

One word! Farrgut! This is the place to play disc golf. 2 18 holes courses along with the newest double black diamond course that has some huge holes like one thats 700+ ft on the back nine. Dave Feldberg also had some input on this new course as well. the other 2 18 course are just as tight. Long open holes on some, heavy woods and even some holes that call for extreme hyzer throws. There are a couple holes that the fairway turns 90 degree no exageration.. Super fun! Coupled with the fact that is is part of the state park, next to the beautiful lake pend orielle, and plenty of camping and rec. activities for the whole family make this one the mecca for the NW in my opinion..
