Yeah, well the Saturday teams had an epic FAIL out there today with multiple groups not being able to finish in the daylight.
As I see it, it always comes down to a few things every single time:
1 Captains being slow filling out the match ups.:shooting:
I am going to get each day a 4' long 4x4 and chain the clipboards so they cannot wander off to the parking lot! You people all suck!
2 Not starting on assigned holes.:shooting::shooting:
You can't all start on the same damn hole people! If you have to get in your car and drive to get closer to your starting hole then get in the f'ing car and drive to your damn hole! The match sheets have a place for starting hole to be assigned and I have yet to see them EVER filled out by the Saturday groups. We may not be playing for the Championship of World, but if you don't do things like we are playing in 'real' tourney you won't be able get around the course in the daylight.
3 Slow play.:shooting::shooting::shooting:
WE ARE NOT PLAYING FOR THE F'IN CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE WORLD PEOPLE!!! YOU ARE NOT KEN CLIMO WITH $20k RIDING ON THE MATCH!!! Don't drop your bag 75' behind your lie, approach your lie and then decide to change the disc you are going to throw. Either bring your bag up next to your lie OR THROW THE DAMN DISC YOU BROUGHT TO YOUR DAMN LIE!!! We are playing in inclement weather people, just pick a damn disc and f'in DO IT! Pull your f'in head out and get through the damn course in the daylight people!

If my math is correct Aceholes won
3.5-1.5 in the morning
2-3 in the afternoon
7th man points for each team
6.5-5.5
Match Point gives us a 7.5-5.5 victory
Had a great time out there. Darr, Emma and Rich. Thanks for the great company today. Hopefully we meet in the finals

GripLok finally was taken down. Funny thing is I told Keith way back in the beginning at Pier that we would whoop them anywhere besides Milo. Of course that was where we ended up matching up. We knew it was a long shot taking them on there. It was a great day of golf and we had plenty of time, even when we didn't start where we were supposed to because there were too many people starting there. All in all, Crusties, we had a blast. And sorry I had to whoop on you so hard Keith but maybe you shouldn't call me out like that.

Epic match today! First I got beat down on by Dooly, then Pops shot a 54 to crush me in the afternoon. It was great playing with the Crusties and getting a tour from the owners of the park. Some of my highlights from today were watching Amber own Keith so perfectly in the morning that he had to go hide in his car durring the afternoon round, I heard he was crying. Having the morning rounds finish in a tie, and then the afternoon rounds all go down to the last holes and minimal stroke differentials. This was the greatest match of the season and everyone involved played with great sportsmanship. I had a blast playing with Tom and Pops and sorry you do not feel well Keith. ;)

I think RIPT beat HP. But I could not see all the results to confirm that, As we were one of several groups that did have to leave before our 2nd round was finished. It would be very nice to avoid the Donut.
Jordan,
I agree with your frustration. What I notice with my untrained eye that slowed our group:
-Second round starting hole assignments not clear for many groups including mine. Not sure who's baby that was but it didn't get done.
-We all should have only taken 1/2 hour lunch instead, but no one cooking would be happy with that scenario.
-4-groups I counted 2nd round, that crossed our path, not part of OTDG. (No one able to forecast that)
-Everyone slowing due to rain, wiping hands and discs. (Gotta love the Oregon)
-10-minute waits on almost every hole second round while other groups threw. We kept tight to the group in front of us throwing our 1st throw as they walked away from their second throw. Minimum of 3-groups in front of us every time we landed at the next tee.
-Unable to skip ahead holes due to filled tee boxes and fairways as far as the eye could see.

Apparently my afternoon card chose the perfect place to start. After our lil 3 min mixup on what hole was next it was clear sailing for the rest or the course. Nobody riding our tails and nobody in front of us either. :D
Thanks you again mr gorman!!

Thanks to GRIPLOCK what fun day of golf, even though it never stopped raining. A great doubles match came down to the last few holes for a tie. Then Amber showed the crushers what quality golfer she really is. Our match came down to the last hole. Hope to see GRIPLOCK in the finals.

... i'm'a pipe up here... seems like the main problem was the starting hole thing... and that's an easy fix... next time, we should designate that (which i do remember having been done at all the past matches? i feel like i remember this, anyway)... i mean shoot, can't be that tricky, heck i'll do it for heaven's sake if no one else wants too... :p
... i will say, i really appreciated the quick play of both my morning and afternoon rounds... and get this people, i'm pretty sure quick, focused play actually helps the quality of one's game... just sayin'...
seriously, tho, just let me know (jordan, keith, cindy... i'm talking to you) if i can help out... it would be a learning experience but i'm a quick study... and i believe in getting shit done and taking care of business...
... i also volunteer to heckle and nag and harass and harangue groups i feel are golfing too slow... ;)

The starting holes will be assigned ahead of time from now on. Keith and I have talked, and It will actually be done the Friday before.
Also we will not be able to take the match cards away from tournament central in the future. I say we because I am guilty of this as well. Team captains will have to fill out their line-ups at tournament central.
We currently have one missing big clipboard, match card , morning score cards from the ODWL vs Aceholes. ODWL or Aceholes any idea where this missing item might be. It was not with the rest of the cards when I went to retrieve it at the shelter yesterday.
Also sorry Josh, but I am pretty sure Hot Poop! got the win over Ript 8.5 to 3.5. :yay:

I just wanted to say I had a great time playing the Drunk & Disorderlies.
Pinkal and I had an amazing round of doubles against Kirsten & Celeste that came down to the wire. We had a 17 stroke deficit to fight through and had tied it up by the time we got to hole 1 of 27 (with three holes to go). We picked up a couple strokes on the big hole and promptly screwed up Hole 2 in grand style. Pinkal and I took a painful and well deserved five, and the ladies took a awesome three. Match tied with one to go! As we approach the next tee I think to myself "All we have to do is birdie the last hole and we got this in the bag!" Then Kirsten parks the final hole and now we HAVE to birdie that last hole just to TIE them. Thankfully, we had a decent drive and Pinkal hit the putt so we managed to come out with a tie. Way to bring it ladies! Fun stuff.
Shawn and Eric... even in that rain I had a great time playing with you two.

It was a pleasure playing against D&D. Got to throw with Shawn, Eric, Bob, and Claude. Just wish there was another round so I could have trash talked with Celeste and Kirsten. Maybe the playoffs. Thank again guys & gals! :):o
Putt This! beat D&D by some score TBD. Thanks for rolling over! ;)
Morning round took 3:30.
Afternoon took 3:15.
Yes, spending time wiping discs and hands before every throw slows things down and is fatiguing after a while.
I really like having the starting holes predetermined. One more way to streamline (therefore speeding up) the process. Good idea to not allow the match clipboards to leave tourney central.

You did win the singles match and have your 7th man play, but there was no 5th singles match in the afternoon. Both Teams have to agree to play for the point and we did not. Hence Chris's name not being put on the score card.

That brings up a good point we should always be listing the players that play in the dubs in the morning in the 4 main singles slots in the afternoon, and same goes for the opposite for singles in the morning make sure we list any players we want in dubs in the afternoon in the 4 main singles matches rather than the optional 5 singles slot. Because a team has the option to not play that 5th singles match, which makes it a non match. Therefore potentially making the dubs a non match too. That is something I will pay attention to in the future.

Actually the corollary to that rule means you do not get the 7 player point because you placed your 7th player's match in the bonus singles match and the opposing team declined to compete for that point. To earn the 7 player point all players on a team must compete in a singles match.
And because that player competed in the morning dubs match and did not compete in an afternoon singles match you forfeit the morning dubs match.
So not putting that player in one of the first 4 singles matches cost you the 7 player point AND the morning dubs match point.
So far on my double check list:
Quadruple check OD&W
Discrupters 7 player point
Cindy's afternoon singles match & rating
DH vs GBP scores
Any more questions? Lots of scoring juice was consumed last night so errors could have crept into the scoring pretty easily...

3 Slow play.:shooting::shooting::shooting:
THIS IS NOT BRAIN SURGERY OR ROCKET SCIENCE PEOPLE!:bricks:

This is funny. We may be sitting on a goose egg, but at least George knows how to fill out a match sheet. Way to go ODW!

Let' see, you are using, as your proof, the mysterious match sheet that wasn't turned in AT the match but had to be tracked down the next day to be turned in...
And NOT the player in question who was told by his captain that he wasn't playing in the afternoon AND that captain's statement on this board to the same effect?:chinscratch:
:pirate:
His name was filled into the 5th man slot on the master sheet as he was our extra player. Just as Jason's name was filled in the same spot for the morning, as he was our extra player there.
I may be wrong here and if I am I'll own up to that but unless his name goes down on the scorecard there is no extra match to be played.

Let's say you're a team captain. You have a certain player who you intend to NOT play a certain round. Do you:
A) WRITE the player's name on the match sheet for that round
or
B) DO NOT WRITE the player's name on the match sheet for that round
Anyone? This one seems pretty straightforward to me.

I've filled out the match sheet the same way all year and it has never been a problem. I see how the way I filled out the sheet can be confusing and I won't do it like that again, but with my not filling him in on the score card there can not be a match. Having the opposing team fill his name in on the score card does not constitute a match.
Once again, If I am in the wrong then I'll own up to that and take my licks.

My thought on this is that once I write my lineup on the match sheet, it is done and this is how the score cards should be written. If I give the other team the match sheet to fill in their lineup, score cards will then be filled out as the match sheet is written. Maybe I'm not understanding exactly how this happened though.
An example: At Milo a couple years ago I left for lunch after setting the match sheet lineups and giving the sheet to the other team. I ended up getting soaking wet with no rain gear or change of clothes. I got back and let my team know I was pussing out. I was designated to play so I lost that match.

Is ODW not being assessed these points? It seemed pretty straightforward to me too. It would be a bummer to get docked 3 points for no reason. :cop:

No reason...lack of communication between captains is certainly no reason at all...:headbang:
I am still weighing the final ruling on this episode. It doesn't change the Win-Loss of the match but could have a serious effect on the final standings in that division...:chinscratch:

I am still weighing the final ruling on this episode.
Upon further review, the unclear nature of the completion of the Match Sheet makes the previous ruling too one-sided, as there now seems to be at least some fault on both sides. So I will modify the original penalty.
You do not get the match point for the unopposed 5th singles match.
But you placed that player, in good faith, into what seemed to be a valid match, so I will not dock you the 7 player point or invalidate the morning dubs match.
To clarify the match sheet for all of the captains from here on out: Do not put any players on the match sheet that you are not going to send out to play.
And a bit of free advice: Don't risk your 7 player point AND your morning doubles round point by writing your player's name in the 5th singles match, I will not be so lenient in the future. This may prove too enticing for your opponent to pass up.
Now on to the other things to check:
Cindy somehow got John Gorman's rating typed into the match sheet in her afternoon match, so after fixing that she correctly got the match point and the final score was Hot Poop! 9 & Subject to Change 3.
Westside Slingers were incorrectly docked their 7 player point, so the final score on that match was Old Bad & Sassy 4.5 & Westside Slingers 6.5
I looked at the GBP v DH match and didn't find anything obviously wrong with them except for a slight miskey on Tom Moore's rating (918 instead of 916) but it didn't make a difference in the handicap. Can you be more specific? Was there a match that went different than what you thought at the park?
I will post the updated files to the group soon. Are there any more questions or errors caught? Please let me know.

I have a ?
7th man point clarification....
Knowing I might not be able to finish (I kinda played 3 holes- walked them)... if I'd have played singles instead of doubles, I would have managed to at least earn us the 7th-man point? Yes? All 7 players must play SINGLES?
I'm still mad at myself for making myself hurt worse for nothing.

Exactly! If you had played a singles round instead of a doubles round then you would have gotten the 7 player point as long as all players played at least one SINGLES match.
