No, it is not. It is still fun though...
Trophies for top 3 spots in all divisions, generous payouts, ace pot, many ctp's, and an opportunity to renew your love affair with the best baskets between Snohomish and Arlington.

You mean the only course between Ferggy and TR on Highway 9.

Im in 4 sure. Count on it. As the defending 3rd place finisher I must be present to defend my honor. Make sure to be there for all the rest of you, its a great event and no better way to spend a day in febuary than to hang out in the trees at Lake Stevens.

Not a bad idea Johnny! Star Hero of course since the DX ones break easily on trees. Putting on those baskets with Super Class is a bit brutal, no offense anyone but I've tried it before.

I'd love to have a super class division at Freeze this year. If there are 4 or more, we'll make it happen on the fly. No Novice division tho.
I want to experiment with super class soon. I can huck an UltraStar real far.
Perhaps a team super class UltraStar throw and catch competition after the tourney. I know BA & Ed can really huck one and I can run em' down & catch them like Deion Sanders in his prime. Who's in?

The Freeze is now half full. If you are planning on playing, I suggest you register or PM me to let me know you will be there. We are capping it at 80 and there are always a lot of people signing up the last day. We have filled the last two events here so I expect we could sadly be turning people away.
I will post who has registered in a day or two .

Hi All,
At this year's Freeze, we are donating $5 from all entry fees to the Lake Stevens Food Bank. We will also be donating a portion of the $5 "pay the day of event fee" as well.
I spoke with the Parks dept about this when I got the parks use permit and they are extremely happy we are doing this. We need some good press with the city since there are still a few people complaining to the city council about disc golf happening in this park (as well as helping the hungry).
So to offset this, and make sure we still have generous payouts, we are going to go round up hole sponsorships. They are $20 per hole.
If you want to sponsor a hole, or know of a business that could, please PM me. If there is a business that would like to donate gift certificates or merchandise instead, that is fine also.
Thanks!
Brian

Big Thank You to Jim Anderson for the mighty fine job he did cleaning up #13 and 14.
Yep, big thanks to Jim Anderson AND drkstr Don Anderson (not related to each other or Brian Anderson) and also Chris OZanich. Almost all of the limbs and brush that came down during the two storms of the century have been cleaned up.
The course is almost in tournament shape. We have a little work to do on a couple of tee boxes and that's about it.
There are 5 holes left for $20 sponsorship if anyone wants the fame and noteriety that goes with having your name on a piece of good stock paper!
There will be 20 holes this year. The extra hole will be 7A. After you play hole 7, go NE torwards the creek about 75 feet. We will throw from the main path north . I will have markers out there later this afternoon showing where the basket will be. There will be a couple of rocks for now on the path showing where the tee box will be.

Lake Stevens must be where the over 40 crowd plays, big turn out of masters & grand masters. Those old guys are the true athletes who have seen it all anyway. A few of them are really manning up in the Open division. You will play better at Stevens if you are as old as some of the trees are.
What no Toby? What happened to roll tide roll? Was looking forward to an LSU/Bama side bet.

Yeah, we usually get a great group of the elders. I am thinking I need to add some Ibuprofin to the players pack for the next Aquafest Open. Maybe throw in a couple of knee braces as CTP prizes.

Right. It's because they can't reach the green on a conventional disc golf hole. I don't mean they can't reach it on the drive; I mean they can't reach it (ever)!

Well we pride ourselves on our unconventional play in Lake Stevens. Only the brave will try, only the bold survive, only the craziest of the crazies play LS regularly. Once you are willing to let go of the easy & the expected and take on a real worthy challenge you will find true frisbee harmony amongst the trees of Lake Stevens. No one is a true player until they embrace the "baskets".

Unfortunately, I can't swing the Saturday in Lake Stevens followed by the Sunday in Adair Village, and my 1st place team WILL win this final week, playoffs, and become OTDG Champion 2011 with my best efforts this weekend.
Good luck Cajun, best of fun to all: BA, Steve, even Rim Jiminy in absentia, Have a great Freeze!

Want to give a shout out to all that helped out to make this event happen!
Hole Sponsors - Chainbangerz (you all know this place rocks), Tall Guy Small Guy Automotive in Marysville (I take all my cars and boat to these disc golfing hellish mechanics), Midori Teriyaki (best teriyaki in Lake Stevens and Mr. Young picked up a 2nd place trophy), Jim Anderson (3 holes and 3 quafers), Don Anderson (in memory of Paul Woodall, Feb 12, 1984-July 10, 2010), Steve Rolling, Chris OZanich, Sportys Beef & Brew in Everett (great food and beer), Creekside Steak and Ale, Ed Fairbanks, BA, Robert Cruikshank and Thomas Little.
Thanks John Stengele for the sweet coffee maker. Bjorn Pinney had already used it when I saw him Sunday morning.
Thanks to Steve Rolling, Jim Anderson, Chris Ozanich, Jesse Ingram, Don Anderson, and Dale Willard for all the course maintenance and clean up you've done. These dudes always bring a bag to pick up trash during a round as well.
Thanks Cajun, Jesse, Oz, Jason Van Proyen, and Andrew for helping out during the tourney. Can't do it without the help of the bro's.
Thanks Guy-dude for all the sweet discs and other swag he orders for this tourney. It's good to be the last one to cash scrip and have a ton of stuff I actually want. Thanks also for donating a bag of sweet plastic and stuff for CTPs.
Thanks Chainbangerz for also donating a large bag of sweet stuff. Made for great CTPs and giveaways to those who deserved it. I think close to half the holes had a CTP prize on it.
The Lake Stevens parks dept emailed me and thanked us for the $400 we donated to the LS Food Bank. This will only help our case against those nasty rogue citizens who keep bitchin to the city about the course.
Attached is a good group picture that Eric Edgerton got for us. Thanks Edge!
Sorry if I left someone off this list. The tourney happened about 16 beers ago and my memory fades quickly.
See y'all at the Aquafest Open on July 30th!
