View Full Version : HOLE 17 WORK PARTY at Stub Stewart State Park - Saturday 12/11 at 9am

Come on out and help put the last basket in at Stub Stewart! Our plan for this work party is to knock out hole 17's raised plateau green by hole digging, cement pouring, plateau building and filling it up. This hole position is meant to make birdie-seeking knees knock as they try to finish their round on this beauty of a course.

We will start working at 9:00am and our goal is to finish the hole so we have time to play a round after and enjoy the fruit of the labors of many over these last couple months.

If you can make it, we will meet at the Hill Top Day Use Area promptly at 9:00am.

Work party is this Saturday the 11th. Not Friday as originally posted. Maybe this is a sign I should take a sick day on Friday and go play!

Emma is right, the State Parks will supply everything we need in the way of tools...we supply the sweat. Thanks and see you out there!

Please wear boots, pants and bring a good pair of work gloves. Water is a good thing to have with you while working and layers that you can shed and put back on depending on your work level.

Couldn't make it out (though I did attend the last 3); my honeydew list was too long. I am stoked to hear about our newest 18-hole being ready for play and continued improvement! How did it go today?

It went wet very wet. We cut and stripped the bark off the trees used to make the raised green, all twelve 16 foot logs. We also moved some heavy rock by wheel barrow into the raised green area but gave up after the 1 inch of rain destroyed the path under our feet. Most of the logs have been placed but some final tweaking of the structure will be needed. We poured the concrete for the am position on hole 17 so the last basket will be in the ground soon. I think some pictures were taken during the event and John has those. For the conditions I think we accomplished a lot of work.

People attending:
Jeff M.
Jeff H.
Coury C.
Craig N.
Justin H.
Ruben A.
John O.
Mike P.
Steve K.
Judd (high school intern)
