I'll be there for the 3rd year in a row... and keep in mind the schedule has changed alot and fountain hills area is going to be the more popular area this time since both divisions play 2 rounds there plus awards and final round are at fountain hills not vista this year, I say awesome!

Let see if they can match the enthusiasm of Oregon and sell out in a couple of minutes.

I'm going. I just signed up, so they apparently didn't sell out in a couple of minutes like the Fling does.

$175 for MPO. Yeah, I think Corrie and I are going again. We plan on coming back just the two of us this time, though.

This is our first year we will not be going since 2007. I am totally bummed. We are looking to do a later season travel, like the Vibram or something like that. We will miss the Memorial so bad though.
Snap, we rented a house at Fountain in 2009 and it was totally rad.

Having the 3 palms the last 2 years was really cool but insanely expensive... having a house should be cooler this year...
Also if there is anybody that wants to save money on lodging and be near the fountain in a house, let me know, we probably will have some space for a few people; more if people sleep on their own airmatresses.

For the first-timers...don't drink the Fountain water! Last year I was on hole 5 staring down my birdie putt from 10ft and all of a sudden everyone is running, scattering like cockroaches when the lights turn on, and I'm like, what the f! And everyone was running from the spray from the fountain. Was hilarious! I was running too, trying to find something to hide behind! Everyone ran across the street and hid where they could to avoid the spray...was the funniest thing ever! Then I came back and missed the putt. Then the next round at Fountain I went OB 9 times. UGH. The story just got sad.

Lol oh baby, first timers... oh goody, *clapping with giddy excitement*... If no one has really explained to you what these courses have in store for you, go practice trojan a few times before the memorial heh. I think Trojan is the closest thing to practicing FH in Oregon. I love FH, but I haven't done better than a 58, +3, it's all those damn OB's and the wind, omg, last year's 1st round must have been in the 30-40 mph range and whew what a rough front 9 it was. And yeah, don't go in the water, the first year I was there I went in after a few discs that barely rolled into OB or skipped in there, didn't think much of it, ofc no one tells the Deaf guy anything until it's too late. The next time I went back, well I wasn't touching no water... gross... One buddy of mine actually went out for a while out there getting his discs and became horribly sick for a week.... bleh.

Yes, I can sympathize with Snap...I had a 10:30am or so tee time for the first round at Fountain. I was 3 under going into the back nine, just when the wind started kicking up...winds got to 35mph and stayed there, which shut the fountain down. I finished the round 7 over, going OB 3 times on the back nine. Oh, did I forget to mention I went OB 9 times my second round at Fountain? I think if you factor in everything that Trojan is a way easier course, although I did play rather badly the entire time at The Memorial last year. Don't forget about all the OB roping at Vista Del Camino either...rounds at Vista are easier, but painfully long...5 hrs-ish.

Trojan is slightly easier but not when its windy there. I still would give the nod to Fountain hills in the wind but if you get a tee time that has no wind your score will go low.
Oh yeah by the way, if you go in the water after a disc and get caught its a large ticket and you will be escorted from the park and asked not to return. Saw it happen the last time I was there!

I had a 1pmish tee time that day, it was already blowing from hole 1 till the end... was ridiculous trying to play holes 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9... VDC isn't hard, just longer yes except for the water holes, focus baby focus...

A $100 for the week sounds pretty good to me.
I've been concerned about accommodations.
I'm planning on flying down there, so ground transportation is another concern. A room a few blocks from the fountain takes care of that course. I wonder how I'll get to Vista and back? Do you have any car-pooling plans?

The memorial staff has arranged for shuttle services between the 2 courses each day for those who fail to find a ride as a failsafe. There will be at least one car at the house from the few people already in, I forsee at least 1 more joining with a car. If the others don't have a car plan, we can definitely split a rental car for the day(s) that we need additional cars. This is something that I will not worry about until later if need be.
So far there are 2 Deaf and 2 hearing players committed to the house, 4 queens, 1 known couch, and 1-2 airbeds easy 10 people comfortably. So there are 6 spots left, have 6 on the fence like you guys... I've done my research since I been sick of paying so high for such a little hotel room and this was the best I found for price and location hands down.
Google maps puts the house .7 miles from tee 1 at fountain hills. The "secret" warm up fields for fountain hills is .5 miles from the house as well.
I plan on doing group grocery shopping so no one has to worry about food most of the week and saving loads of dough... (this is not my first time doing large group vacations who want to save money heh) $50 deposit in the next 2 weeks gets you a reserved spot with the rest before Febuary 1st.
Thanks

It's been provided in the past, but am told it was not free. Am asking tournament staff for more information since all info I got on this was "verbal"...
