View Full Version : Christmas Wish List
General Scales
November 28th, 2010, 02:15 PM
So with this holiday rapidly approaching, it's time to start writing down all the goodies that one can hope to receive. I'm making two lists, one which is possible and a dream list of things that are rare or don't exactly exist.
Reality:
ESP Venoms, Cryztal Z Nukes, Opto Strikers, HukLab stool, Lat64 pro bag, Grip line Spikes, Z Forces, ESP Cyclones, CFR Teerex-X, Stacks of Pro-D Focus's and Pro-D Ringers.
Fantasy:
First Run Tournament Pro Cyclones, Cryztal Z Focus, First Run Champion Vikings, FLX Wasps, Opto Spikes, Portable Chainstar, Z Mrv's to go back into production and to play a round with Climo, Lundmark, Doss, Avery, Feldberg, Liz Carr and Liz Lopez.
Can't wait to read everyone elses list.

I'm dying to get a new bag, unfortunately, I'm broke so getting myself back to a base level of discs will take priority this year.

You're not going to get laid off on New Year's Eve again, are you? That really sucked.

Geez, I forgot about that. What's crappier than laying off half the department on New Years Eve? Laying off the other half on Christmas Eve.
So are you going to be around after the first of the year, or is this just a holiday gig again?

There is nothing I want now in terms of new discs, I'm super happy with what I have, but, if I had a Christmas wish, it would be for a new course.
I'm extremely pleased with the fact that we have two new courses in the north end now, both installed this year, but both are just small 9 holers without any real challenge on a long term basis.
Both courses see regular traffic on a daily basis, at Blythe, sometimes the only people in the park are disc golfers. This should be proof enough for the parks dept. to see how beneficial courses are to the public, and give them incentive to install many more.
These are great for weekday practice, but lack the challenge that I need to keep coming back on a regular basis.
In other words, these are not "destination" courses, where I would plan to spend a day, or a whole afternoon.
So I find I'm still driving the 30+ miles, one way, each weekend, to play the courses with the most staying power, Seatac, and Lakewood.
Shawn and I talked about it, and its my dream for Christmas, but all I want is to see plans move forward on a "Seatac" like course up this way, so I can do my part to save gas and be good to the planet.

Sanity.
Sanity is overrated (says the crazy guy from Eastern Oregon :jumpspin:)
What I would really like for Christmas this year is to be able to attend at 3 to 4 C tier tournaments and least 1 B tier tournaments in the coming year… I guess it’s really more of a goal though.

Hate to follow the trend, but I see that is the way of the world right now. I could really use a job for Christmas. On to the lighter side of things, my wish list would include:
A practice basket, a nice plotter for my dyes, a course a bit closer to the house, a family friendly co-ed doubles league, playing a round or two with some of our local pro's.

How long ago were these in production? I can't say that I have even seen these on ebay, they sound rarer than even the esp version which are super sweet.

They are rare, more than likely a first or close too first run. I'd never seen the stamp on another...found it on ebay thanks again to Jeremy Russo at Dynamic Discs. When I'm looking for that hard to find Discraft plastic DD is the place to go to find it. And fast shipping, ordered on Monday, in hand on Wednesday. Just enough heavier than my X so it finishes late, but it finishes.

DD is a great vendor, I was watching a white esp comet on there ebay site around christmas time also and that sucker I believe sold for $40 +, imo a little high for my liking but man the comet is so fun to watch fly nice and slowwwww, my favorite disc as of now for sure, although the LAT 64 Fuse is another great disc and very Comet-esque just a touch faster but very groovy none the less, it comes highly recommended.

I agree, 40 is just too much for any disc. I was afraid this one was going to go high, but I set a 20 limit and ended up getting it for 15. It's a new mold in my bag, but so far so good. It's gotten out of more trouble than it has created so for now it stays. Now I just gotta track down a 167 X Nuke and I'm done buying until spring.

do you not throw many of the molds in premium plastic for a reason? I have noticed from previous posts that you are big on the pro d stuff. I like my pro d eclipse but it seems that all NA or rainy day games sells is premium plastic. I have only hit up disc golf depot once and I really dug the variety but that was years ago plus I don't venture out that way most times unless Dabney is on the docket.

The Pro D. is affordable, and grippy when wet. I really do like it for my approach and putt discs. In drivers I like the X in Discraft, and Pro in DGA. Although I do have a Z in my Rogues. For me it's all about consistency, 4 drivers in the bag, 3 of them Rogues. They all fly differently, but most important...they feel the same in my hand. 1 Nuke, 3 Buzzzes, 2 Comets, a Challenger and a Soft Mag round out the bag right now, which is big for me. As for retailers, I use discgolfcenter.com (http://www.discgolfcenter.com) more than just about anyone else. Prices close to the Depot, free shipping, and you pick mold, color and weight...oh, and they carry lighter stuff. Around here it's premium plastic and max weight...fine if you're young and strong...but I'd rather confuse them with control.
