We should get a group of unemployed golfers together and play some rounds during the week. Maybe set a time and place for different days of the week. Post here if you're out of work and looking to throw. Count me in. Unemployment Check = here i come.

Why would you need to know what kind of cars we drive before you break into them? Wouldn't you just break into whatever cars are there?

The Unemployed had a spectacular day out at Hornings today. Abell got an ACE. Short course hole 15 I think. It's always sweet to see somebody ace. Nothing was stolen from our vehicles. I was kinda hoping those old help wanted ads would disappear. The only thing stolen today was by Murray and Cindy in doubles, with putts that were unreal. Well done! We might actually have Unemployed Bag Tags. Something home made most likely, like pieces of an old grocery sack with string and art work done in magic marker. (bet you think I'm kidding, huh?) The weather was a bit cold but the brightness of the sun felt good. Thanks to Scott, Kent, Cindy, Jason, and Murray for coming out.

today was a great time. glad we all made it out there. let's plan a day or two next week and do it again. anyone else out of work get off the couch and get some fresh air. maybe get out to levenrich or dabney. after you all left i played a round with a guy from salem. First time he'd played horning's. he'd finished the first course and we hit the "b" course. playing hole four we watched a huge bald eagle swoop over the pond and perch in a tree above 7's tee pad overlooking the pond. we watched each other untill we finished playing hole 7 and as we headed to 8 the bird took flight again and was on it's way. Nice way ro finish the day.

I gotta give it up to Murray and Cindy! They smoked us. The Brit couldn't miss a putt and Cindy was next to the pin on every approach. Chicks of Oregon look out for her. Between her desire and ability she will be advanced by summer.
Abell was the epitomy of consistancy off the tee and Scott and Bob threatened all the way. If Scott would just decide to be straight or BI off the Tee they might have beat us. :jumpspin: Poor Bob. Got a bum draw right from the start. He did what he could with what he was given.:biggrin2:
All in all, a fun day of FW2,MA3, MA2,MA1 golf at the HH Corral. I would be unemployed anytime if it meant I could spend a day throwin disc with these fools.
Hope to get in on the next one. Howz about issuing an honarary "Employed but wish I wasn't" bag tag for me? Perhaps you could make it out of my 401k statement:wink2:

When you're out there on Sunday, Maybe label the course with some ribbon. I know there's a lot more interested in this course than will be there on Sunday. If you'd mark teepad areas and hole placements with ribbons on trees others could follow along later. More people could get a look at the course next week this way and provide more feedback.

Hey Bob...
Check out the hole lengths and course par of this course i played 6 days ago http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=2039&mode=hi.
The reason i wanted you to check out this course is because a course with mostly par 4's is i.m.o. the future of our sport and on top of that the course was amazing.
If you have the room out there make it huge but fair.
Just my two cents.

Crider, i am incredibly jealous! I can't wait to play those courses. I look forward to hearing about your trip.
Hey Bob, Crider is on to something here. I believe he is correct in that the future of the game at the upper levels will depend on challenging the mid 900 rated players by creating courses that stretch them. Before you know it, you are going to have to put in a hotel, spa, heated pool and pro shop!

From my discussions with Bob that is exactly what he's thinking, make it long, and tough. HH is really going to be a DG destination spot with courses for every level of player and skill.

Yeah really low but awesome!
KInd of like Pier Park on steriods. When my wife and I were there, we had both courses to ourselves. It was absolutely amazing.
If you went about three hours north you could've made it to Winthrop. Another amazing course.

I wanted to but ended up playing a brand new 18 in a little town called Dallas outside of Marietta.
I have some video i shot out there and as soon as my website (iloverocs.com) is complete i will post it up.

[QUOTE=Tennessee;7589]Hey Bob...
Cheers

If I could do Par 4s though out the new course I would love to, but I just don't have that much room over in that area. We've got lots of woods that we're not planning on using (Over 40 acres), but it's extremely thickly wooded and hilly, enough so that most of it is unplayable. Maybe some day, but it would take a lot of work and a desire to have an extreme course. The new course will be solid par 3s, where you've got to have both accuracy and a good arm to make par, and with hole 15 being a par 4 and hole 16 a possible par 6.
later,
Bob

Haley and i are real appreciative to have your courses close by so
keep up the good work and if you ever need help let me know. I have Wednesday and Tuesday off and I'm pretty damn good with a pick axe and shovel.
