It just keeps getting better.

Once again, Next Adventure steps up big time for Stumptown and Portland disc golfers.

Bryan from Next Adventure just let me know he is putting up $250 in Next Adventure Ace Pot Scrip for an ace at Slosh Series #1 at Horning's Hideout.

There only one catch: You have to be a 2011 Stumptown Member BEFORE you hit that ace. So, make sure you re-up your Stumptown membership before you go cashing that ace.

Jeff

So, what would you spend your $250 on?

$250 = a full propane tank to heat my shack for the winter time!!!... that's so boring, tho... i mean beer and new shoes!!!

awesome incentive! Spend it on camping gear so my family can do more disc golf tournaments during the summer, duhhhh... ;) And i'm bringing my dad and brothers, they are going to hold up my 25x25 tarp above my head, can't get wet... ;)

Damnnnn it, if I would have known NA sells beer, I would have spent my entire $100 script from ODGC on beer! Where do they stock it, upstairs, downstairs???

Sure thing... just estimate the number of years you plan on living and send us $10 for each year. While we will not be providing any refunds, you will be safe from any future price increases. :)

Actually, I think Dr. Alfonso Ngbegheti of the Nigerian Mining Ministry has made an app available. All you have to do in send him your full name, address, and all of your bank account information. Oh and he'll send you $10,000,000 if you buy his app for $100.

Bullseye has already squashed the idea of a Rec division for Slosh this year. :(

This is an inexpensive, 1 day event. While there will be modest Next Adventure scrip payout, there are no trophies, so really the whole point of the event is about having some fun on a winter day while getting a few additional rated rounds along the way. While I do understand that everyone wants to win, I think if you're basing whether or not you are going to play based the availability of a recreational division being available I think you might want to reconsider.

The bottom line is: If you want to come out and have a fun time playing a fun course then by all means, please sign up and come on out.

i think everyone who plays hornings has a fun time! and it only costs $3. right now its $46 for casual players who might not plan on winning but want to support stumptown and the great pdga events they put on.
but inexpensive? modest Next Adventure scrip payout? pro-d buzz?
seems like alot of money to most casual players who dont plan on winning.

so is this just a way for pdga members to get a few rated rounds? and why should non-pdga members sign up? other than to pay to support disc golf.
thanks

The event is $30 and that includes a premium plastic disc (Not Pro-D), the three bucks for Horning's Hideout. True, its an additional $10 if you're not a PDGA member, but that would be the case for ANY sanctioned tourney.

Having not played the meadow course before, I decided to stick to what I do know... earlier this year I played courses blind and it killed my ratings and I didn't enjoy myself.

How old is this junior? That 10 year oldish boy I saw at the stumptown meeting? My 4 year old is dying to play his first tournament and has mad skills as his average drive is in the 80-100 foot range. Will there be other young juniors thinking about going out? And juniors play highland or canyon Mr. TD and registration cost?

No, that was my son Matthew. He can't make it to this one, but hopes to play in some of the others.

A Jr. division would be a great idea if there were actually enought Jrs. to play in it. Matthew gets frustrated because he only ever gets to play against adults. He holds his own in a Rec division, but it would be nice for him to compete against others his own age. With that being said, he had the opportunity last weekend to play in a Jr division by himself and take the guaranteed win. He said no thanks to that, preferring to compete in the Rec division with three other players (adults).

As for Juniors, I'm guessing it will take a tournament to advertise juniors to attract juniors? I'm down to cohosting a juniors event if anyone else wants to cohost...

Lucky Mudd did something along the lines of blindfolded doubles. One partner was not blindfolded and directed the blindfolded person to throw in a particular direction. The tourney was two holes so I don't think that there will be a large appeal for this. ;)

Anyone want to venture a prediction on how inaccurate the weather report will be for Saturday?

Or better yet how many times it will change before 8pm Friday Night?

Remember your Horning's Hideout course fee is covered by your entry fee so unless you want to donate to Bob, you do not need to pay for that.

Hey team disc golfers how destroyed is the course after last weeks team disc golf match? Where were the baskets on the canyon course, in available longs or shorts?

looks good. the tee pads have been swept but the mud and puddle are growing. right now all is in long but 1, that can be moved day of if the want is there. the swamp is starting to fill in and there are some good size pockets of water but also some dry land in it right now. I plan on going out to practice this week and was going to wipe down all the canyon baskets to get the mud off. i would watch out for little sticks that can twist your ankle, those have not gotten all picket up yet but will be by the end of the year.

looks good. the tee pads have been swept but the mud and puddle are growing. right now all is in long but 1, that can be moved day of if the want is there. the swamp is starting to fill in and there are some good size pockets of water but also some dry land in it right now. I plan on going out to practice this week and was going to wipe down all the canyon baskets to get the mud off. i would watch out for little sticks that can twist your ankle, those have not gotten all picket up yet but will be by the end of the year.

What day are you thinking about practice/course maintenance? As long as it is early enough in the a.m., I can come and help out. Gimme a heads up, you got my number. :D

Just to clarify the schedule a bit:

The Stumptown website has the event starting at 8am. I'll be starting check-in at 8am and starting the players meeting at 8:30am with the first round starting SHORTLY after that.

Good to know, now I can leave at 3:00am instead of 2:30am. :)

I played the Canyon course today and coundn't see to putt on 18 at 4:40.
i am just encouraging our awesome TD to make sure we start our 2nd round by no later than 1pm or some groups will have a disadvantage due to light scarcity.
I doubt any food is being sold or available so bring your food and don't depend on getting to lunch and getting back quickly.
not trying to be a nervous nelly but it really is getting dark very quickly at HH right now.

Just a reminder to anyone who wants a piece of the $250 Next Adventure Ace Pot. You have to be a 2011 member of Stumptown before we start the round.

Will someone be "onsite" to sell memberships?

Yes, but it would be much nicer to have people plan ahead.

that was fast... had to leave immediately after the 2nd round, which I was happy to have to wipe out that ugly 1st round. Ended the 2nd round with 4 straight birds after having to wade out into the "swamp" on 18 to throw my 3rd shot, cold I tell ya... Great job to Bullseye for a great quick event.

That was a lot of fun, thank you for putting this on. Side note: Did anyone find my bar stamped red/pink Buzzz behind the basket on hole 8 of the Canyon Course? $10 reward for a safe return.

Had a blast out there today getting my butt handed to me. Shot pretty well considering how wet it was but that's why it's the Slosh!
Thank you to Jeff, Ryan, Mike and everyone who helped put this event on. I'll be looking forward to the next one impatiently. Hurry up December!!
