Turkey Throw Down. The Ace Chase is on.
Sponsored by: Gateway Disc Sports.
November 28, 2010

This is going to be a fund raiser for the Hood River Disc Golf course. All profits will go into improving our little pitch and putt course. We may add two baskets to the course to make up for the short shots.

The format is play four rounds on our Ace layout and try to get as many aces and metal hits as you can. You will be throwing two shots at each hole, one with a Gateway Wizard and one with a Gateway Warlock. So it is kinda Wizards vs. Warlocks.

The cost is $20 and that gets you two discs and a mini. As well as the chance to win a Lightening DB-5 Basket. We will also be paying out 2nd and 3rd place as well and some prizes for a long putting contest. So come out on Sunday Nov. 28th after 10 am and throw your rounds and see how you do. As long as you are done by 4pm you can play at anytime between 10 and 3. I am sure I left out some details, hopefully they are covered in the flier attached below.

Thanks so much folks and happy huckin'!:yay:

You will be throwing two shots at each hole,

This is no longer the case. We are only going to be throwing one shot at each hole, unless you want to buy mulligans. Sorry about the confusion. Hope to see some of you out there. :seeya:

Sitting in shorts and a tshirt in SoCal right now, so I don't think I will make it. If you have any of those discs leftover, I'll donate for the discs. We play you next weekend at Pier. I recently lost the Wizard I just put back in my bag and would not mind a new one.

Anyone who wants a ride to this event contact The disc van at either their website. discvango.com or give Dc Dan a call (he actually answers his phone!) at 503-329-5954. I am excited for this event and YOU should be too. Lets all go out and support another course in Oregon. Come on NW Discers show that we can support a good course, lets do our part to make it great.

Well first off I have to thanks all you awesome golfers who came out and made the weather cooperate! We were blessed with a amazing day! I also have to thank Troy @ Pypes Palace and Dave @ Gateway. Now to the goods!

Taking home the victory was

Tree Sines with 2 aces. I saw both one on 5 and one on 10. He got to take the basket that he aced in home with him as his first place trophy. Great work Tree.

Tim took second with one Ace(hole 9) and two metals(hole 5 and 1).

The forums very own Chris Graham tied for third with one Ace (hole 4) and one metal ( hole10).

Chris tied with Brian( not me:() who also aced hole 10 and got some metal on hole 9.

Scott was on the trail with one Ace on hole two. Connor Paulk also hit his first ever ace and it was his second time ever disc golfing! Way to go Connor!

And here are the rest of the standings:
Joshua Fry hit 3 metals
Greg hit 2 metals
Troy Follett hit 2 metals
Mike Myers hit 2 metals
John hit 2 metals
Mike Anderson hit 1 metal
DC Dan hit 1 metal
Sonny Pantages hit 1 metal
Lil Troy hit 1 metal
Jesse hit 1 metal
Jeremy Sines hit 1 metal

Once again big thanks to everyone! Disc Van Go crew I had a blast playing a round with you guys! We could not have asked for a better group of folks to turn out! Can't wait till next time.
