If a person is to play in just 5 tournaments in the Western Oregon/Washington area for the coming year, what should they be?

I guess it depends on whether you plan on winning, or are in it for the schwag.
Flippen Z Disc in Wenatchee had, what I suspect was, the biggest payout EVER, for any event in Washington. Close to, if not above, the National Tour payouts of the Beaver State Fling (another favorite). The Lilac City Open always pays out above scale. I enjoyed the Seattle Dual Nature, for the fun of playing two of Seattle's finest in the same event. And the Ft. Steillacoom Open is another great place and event. I haven't attended some of Oregon's best, the Willamette, Celebration, Whistler's, etc., and I suspect they might work their way into my list if I lived closer and gave them a chance.

Chuck, are you bringing a SuperClass tournament to the PacNW?

The question was about tournaments to play. I think I will be kind of busy during that tournament that sells out in minutes. :wink2: (is it too early to start asking for volunteers?)

Nope. I won't need to come to the NW. One or two of your local TDs might want to host an event on Aug 20-21 as part of this special event playing standard PDGA disc golf. I'm hoping I can get details out on this event next week when hopefully the Major/NT schedule is finally released so TDs can plan their events for 2011.

Only 5? Can't be done... unless you have incredible strength at resisting the urge to sign up for every tournament in the NW... For me... hmmm.... In no particular order...
-Beaver State Fling
-Oregon Disc Golf Championships
-2nd Annual Camp Taloali Fund Raiser *already major plans for a much larger layout and cabins baby, haven't played anywhere with cabins this close or cheap* And being the TD kinda helps.
-GNO (haven't gone in 2 years but was just there for the ODDGC and it's such a great course)
-Fort Steily Open (Never gone, heard good things, just played the WDDGC there and love the improvements on the NW course)
-Willamette Open (I like par 4's and 5's even when I mess up, Bryant and Adair are both top 5 courses in Oregon
-Northwest Amateur Championships (Biggest and baddest players pack and fattest AM payout, and lets not forget Ian's most tasty cooking skills on the grill)
-Eugene Celebration, Calapooia Classic, and Rose City Open (All great tournaments that recruit great people to participate and they are all at beautiful courses)
-Oregon Deaf Disc Golf Championships (I'm the TD, and love seeing my Deaf buddies at this one)
and too many more to list...
-Masters Cup (Dela Veaga baby, this course is a real challenger, it is not as super awesome as some people might let on, yet it is a top 2 in Northern California and is worth the travel for an NT/A tier tournament yes... had to mention it since many Oregon players go to this one)
Yep, top 5 for me right there... Didn't think I could do it but I did....

Beaver state fling, dro (to make up for a dismal performance this year), discs in flight to help the fight (cancer benefit by archie bond at highbridge), steli and chump challenge 2011 (was out of fown for this years). There's tons of others but these are logistical.

I haven't played many so I don't have a legit 5.
I will make sure to play Flippin' Ze Disc next year.
I will try my best to make Next Adventure Amateur Championships as well.
Both tourneys had amazing friendly staff, great courses, and outrageous payouts.
I also love playing Farragut, so that will make my list even though it isn't in Washington/Oregon. :biggrin2:

Faragut is great especially since they put in their latest 18 hole.
