So I'm leaving Sunday night to stay in Albany and I have all of Monday to play as many new courses as I can, I've looked at DGCR for the best in the area already and they all seem to have about the same rating. I've already played Adair, Willamette, Simpson and Timberlinn in the area and I'm already planning on playing Bryant as I have it on good authority that Bryant is really good. So I'm trying to decide on Waterloo, Dallas City Park, Keizer Rapids, Cascade Gateway, Jerry Miller's Camp Taloali, Camp Tadmor (If It's open) and the other 9 holers (Woodsmansee, Corbin College, Philomath Middle School and Mary's Park) and I most likely only have time for 3 courses. So any suggestions, my Oregon friends? :)

Bryant is vicious. I don't even like to play it once.

I think Camp Tadmor is one of the best in the state, but it's off the beaten path. I like Keizer's layout a lot, but the tee areas suck (no pads yet).

Tadmor was getting the highest of the area courses with a 4.00 and looks quite appealing judging by the reviews and pictures. Is Bryant Vicious because it's hard or is it tough find your way around and/or thick underbrush?

It's hard. The non-woods holes are LONG. Some of the woods holes are long too -- much longer than you typically find in dense forests. I haven't been there in a while, so I don't know the state of the underbrush, but it's certainly not a "mature" course yet.

Love it or hate it, Bryant's the kind of place that doesn't exactly leave you in the mood to go play 2 or 3 more courses that day. But what it has going for it is its location, right next to downtown Albany. Tadmor is an hour east of Albany -- although Waterloo is right on the way, which is nice.

I live in Albany and would be happy to play a round or two Monday. I would say Bryant, Waterloo, and if you have time Tadmor.

Sweet, thanks Adam. Bryant looks like a beast judging from online pictures and hole distances; over 7300 feet is a big course.

Bryant is in excellent shape. Concrete tees on the open holes, good carpet tees in the woods, and the underbrush has been seriously reduced. It's much better than in years past. It's by far the best course on that list, as long as you aren't the kind of guy who only likes shorter, open courses.

I like all types of courses really. Long and/or technical isn't a detractor to me. I'm looking forward to it, my friend says it's the third best course in Oregon, we shall see. :)

My Friend said #3 behind Milo and Whistlers Bend, though I argue Horning's over both of them. We'll see, I'll report on Tuesday when I get back. Judging by the photos and hole distances, I think it's going to be a long and challenging but fun round.

Bryant was a beast! You will see my new reviews on the courses I played soon on DGCR. Got started a little late and got lost a couple of times so we only got Bryant, Dallas and Woodmansee but it was fun and I actually liked all of them.

Bryant - 4.5
Dallas - 3.0
Woodmansee - 2.5

Thanks for the advice everyone. :)
