I'm kinda new to the Disc golf scene, And I'm still trying to learn the proper etiqute. What should I do If I find a disc with several names on it? call all the numbers and the first to respond gets it? Donate it? Turn it in somewhere? or keep it and throw it when I go to trojan?
I'd rather keep it than call the non origional owner. But I'd really rather do the right thing, for I didn't purchace it.
Also, It seems like if the right thing to do was keep it, most people who found a disc with 1 name on it would scribble down a few decoy numbers and claim that they didn't know which was the origional owner.:nono:

It's possible that the disc was passed between friends, meaning that the non-original owner may well KNOW the "current" owner.

Usually when I get a disc in trade I put a single black line through the other persons name with a permanent marker and then write my own name next to it.

Before I joined a league, my first disc I found was a star roadrunner, and it was my only disc for a while, I found it with 5 other names on it, so I didn't feel to guilty. Also I wrote "you find, you keep" on it ... But now that I play with different people constantly, I wanna try and do the right thing.

I would think the oldest looking sharpie # I should call, cause it was prolly there longer, meaning the origional owner, and if it was given to somebody through trade then they would know which # is right.
Thanks for the feedback though.

... interesting logic. i know the disc i have with several people's names on it that would not be the case... it originally belonged to sillybizz and he's got no idea who i am in "real" life and probably doesn't know i even have the disc (i must say i got it threw totally legit circumstances, please do not think i am stealing people's plastic... except maybe my dad's eclipses... but he's not yet off the injured reserve list, so...)...
... but i'm just arguing for the sake of arguing... i think it's great you're trying this hard to do the proper thing...

You can also post the names and disc here and see if anyone knows about it. I know there are 15 or more out there with my tag and number on them. Some friends just never put there name on it and if it gets lost just gets returned to me.
