WA Matchplay Showdown Canceled

Hey folks,

No Matchplay Showdown this year. I'm too busy to run it this time around. Thanks to all who've participated in the past. Maybe it will show up again next year?

Sounds like a cry for help to me. Not a serious cancelation. I haven't checked the WA ratings list in a while but if I am uneligable I would be glad to step up and run the event. 10 players? If I am eligable anybody else want to step up and keep this awesome tradition alive?

These are the top 20 rated players in WA. I know Mike Cain is 1009 but isn't showing current. Anybody know the number of players that have been invited in the past? It would be a shame to let this event be skipped for a year. Anybody willing to save the day? Please!

There are usually eight players and they are picked mainly due to the kind of year they have had not necessarly the rating even though that does come in to play. If you could get 16 to play that would work to as that was the way it was done the first couple of years. You can actually run it and play in it....it is somewhat informal. This is gibson's baby........whatever he would think would be cool.
