Hey all..
I am makin my way from Seattle to Portland tomorrow.
I was wondering which course(s) I should hit on my day trip down there.

Also, if anyone wants to give me a local's tour of any of those courses I would definitely be more obliged to check it out.
Give me your input and why... can't wait to see what I play.

Lucky Mud is beautiful and fun, except for Ol' Bob! Just Kidding Bob! :p

Trojan is a course you want to play once in your life and that's about it. It's nice but losing plastic in the water is frustrating.

Skyline is on a ball golf course and you can rent carts and there some fun shots but not much challenge and it's pay to play.

All three are fun to play but I would say this:

Lucky Mud>Skyline>Trojan

I'd generally agree with silly's assessment, though depending on what you're looking for in a course, Trojan might rate higher. Trojan is definitely one of the prettiest courses you'll play, and if you play smart, you can keep dry (I'd bring some discs you don't care about though, just in case.) My only real beef with Trojan is that the novelty of it wore off really quick for me. I loved it when I first played it, and I still like it, but it's not the destination course it used to be for me. That being said, depending on what kind of time frame you're looking at, it's way closer to the highway than the others.

Lucky Mud, well, I could go on and on about that...I'll just say that it was immediately one of my favorite courses when I first played it, and it still is today (and it keeps getting better!) Now if only those damn loggers would get a clue....

Skyline is a lot of fun, but I wouldn't call it a destination course, more if you make the trip out to play the Mud, then you should stop by and play Skyline too.

Looks like I will be making the trip to Lucky Mud.

Who wants to show me around?
I will be leaving Seattle early and would be happy to meet up anytime. :biggrin2:

That's a Silly thing to say about Bob.

Justin- dude, Ol' Bob is the one you want to show you around. He might, if you're Lucky.

Be sure to budget enough time for 24 holes. You can miss a whole football game in one round. I'll be happy to guide you. Let me know your ETT (estimated tee time). Remember, go up East Valley Rd. until you see the Inn at Lucky Mud sign and drive slowly up Old Chestnut Dr. to the big gray house on the right. Don't ask the crazy lady at the bottom for directions, or lord knows where she'll send you.

I tried to call a couple times that morning and must have just missed ya.

I am really sorry to have missed out on your course this road trip.
I was looking forward to the 'golf experience' so many people describe.
You will be first on my list on my next time through the area.
:)

You didn't get my answer machine? I had informed all that you were expected. It was a done deal at this end.

Thanx for the intended hospitality!

I'm wondering what number you called. Mine's not published. The inn has an answering machine too. Theirs takes quite a few rings to get to.

I think I called the Inn. =)
