2010 Montana State Championships Sept. 11 & 12

The 2010 Montana State Championships and Montana Points Series Finals will be held on Sept 11 & 12, 2010 at a temporary course at Lubrecht Forest and Blue Mountain DGC in and near Missoula, MT.

This event will fill. Pre-register at www.gardencityflyers.org to ensure your spot!

Friday, Sept. 10 – Lubrecht Forest
3:00 – 8:30 Player Check – in at Lubrecht Forest
5:00 - Random Draw Doubles $5

Saturday, Sept. 11 – Lubrecht Forest
9:30 - Players Meeting
10:00 – Round 1 Shotgun start
2:15 – Approximate Round 2 Shotgun start

Sunday, Sept. 12 – Blue Mountain DGC
9:45 – Players Meeting
10:00 – Round 1 Shotgun Start Blue Tees
1:30 – Final 9 Start
4:00 – Awards Ceremony

Open Men - $80
Open Masters - $70
Open Grandmasters - $70

Optional Acepot - $2

The above fees include a $3 PDGA fee, a $3 MT Points Series fee and $5 Lubrecht Forest user fee.
PDGA Members receive a $10 discount for all divisions except Rec which will not be sanctioned.

All divisions will receive a players pack valued at over $20.

Registration will open on Monday, August 23rd

3 catered meals are available on Saturday, but must be pre-ordered by August 31st. They will be cooked and served by the good people of the Lubrecht Forest in the cafeteria located very near Tourney Central. You can order 1 or all 3.

Meal Options

Breakfast - Served from 8:00 - 9:00 AM. Consists of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hasbrowns, cereal, fruit and drink - $8

Lunch - Served just after round one, approximately 1:15. Consists of a taco bar and drink - $10

Dinner - Served approximately 6:00 PM. Consists of spagetti, salad, bread, dessert, and drink - $12

They are giving us a break on the food prices, so please take advantage of the facilities and support the Lubrecht Forest

Lodging

All camping and lodging includes use of the showers and bathrooms with running water.

Free camping is available at Lubrecht Forest both Friday and Saturday nites.

Cabins are available for rent for $40 per nite plus tax and sleep up to 3 people.

Boxcars that sleep up to 6 are available for rent for $60 per nite.

Log Cabins that sleep up to 4 are available for $70 per nite.

Directions to Lubrecht Forest:

From Missoula - take I-90 east and exit at Bonner. Follow HWY 200 23 miles. Entrance to Lubrecht will be on the right just after the turn to Garnet ghost town. Follow signs to Camp.

From Whitefish/Kalispel - take HWY 83 south from Bigfork down through Seeley Lake. Take a right at Clearwater Junction (the big cow) on HWY 200. Go 9 miles and the entrance will be on your left. If you get to the turn to Garnet ghost town you went too far. Follow signs to Camp.

From Helena - from HWY 12, take a right on HWY 141 at Avon. Take a left on HWY 200 after Helmville. entrance to Lubrecht will be about 9 miles after Clearwater Junction (the Big Cow). If you get to the turn to Garnet ghost town you went too far. Follow signs to Camp.

From anywhere else - exit I 90 at Bonner (east of Missoula about 10 miles) and follow HWY 200 23 miles. Entrance to Lubrecht will be on the right just after the turn to Garnet ghost town. Follow signs to Camp.

The closest stores are in Bonner or at Clearwater Junction, so be prepared

A little info on the temp course at Lubrecht Forest. It is a par 58/59 course that has several slight to drastic downhill shots with very little uphill involved (wierd, but true) that plays about 8,500'. There is a pond that comes into play on 2 holes. Several tight holes following cross country ski trails and a few big open bombers from elevated tees. A very fun course to play and with all the extras there, like FREE camping, cabins for rent, catered food available, running water, showers, a HUGE mowed meadow to throw LED discs in all night and the good time scene of MT disc golf - you can't go wrong. Then you get to play Blue Mountain on Sunday. I know there's a lot going on that weekend, but if you can make it over to Montana, we'll make sure you have a good time!

I want to be sure about the FREE part of camping. I called the Lubrecht folks and they said it would be $10 per person to camp. Do you have a special deal with them?

Yes, free camping is included with the site fee that the tournament pays in order to hold an event there. If you would like to stay there on Thursday or Sunday night, you will have to pay the per person/tent fee and arrange it with them. No reservations needed for tent camping at Lubrecht for the weekend of the tourney - just show up.

FYI, there is only 1 cabin left for rent, but several boxcars if your interested in a real roof over your head.
