We will be meeting at 9:00 am at the hilltop parking area.

PLEASE come out and help us get these last few tasks taken care!!!

We will primarily be working on the finishes touches for all of the greens on the front nine. We're going to line the greens with logs and lay down bark chips to make these greens look super sweet!

Also, I want to take a moment to thank Park Ranger Steve Kruger for his tireless work on this project. This is the first time in my experience where we actually had a park ranger pushing us to get this done faster! I know, right? It's inconceivable! But it is true. Thank you Steve.

Schedule
9:00am - 2:00pm Working our butts off.
2:00pm - 3:00pm Stumptown provided LUNCH! (Thanks for cooking Jordan!)
3:00pm - 8:00pm Install the baskets on the front 9 and play some golf!!!

Yes, thats right. Whoever shows up and participates in this work party will get the opportunity to help us install the baskets and play this course for the very first time.

Thank you all in advance for your support and please make this work party if at all possible.

Jeff Hagerty

Directions to LL Stub Stewart State Park:
26 West to 47 North (to Vernonia) and turn right into the park. The hilltop parking area well marked at the top of the big hill. (Funny how that works, eh.)

If you are planning on making it out for this critical work party please let us know. We want to make sure we have enough food for everyone. As it stands right now, Jeff & Jeff are going to eat like KINGS!

Darn if it weren't for the Chick Flick work party on the same day I would be there. I will see what the hubby is up to though. That would probally be a nice ride on the motorcycle.

Cindy :)

Yeah, it bums me out that we both have work parties that day, but our only option was having a work party DURING the Chick Flick. Hopefully, y'all think we made the right call ;)

I too am bummed that I can't make it. This is the kind of thing I love to do. I highly encourage any and all that can make to please get out to Stub and help out.

I unfortunetely have a For Sale sign going up on my house within a week and I am not ready. I will be buried in work at home AGAIN this weekend. If you want to double dip on the Karma thing come to my place Saturday and Stub for a little work and some fun playing disc golf on Sunday.

Thank you guys for taking on the challenge of getting what will eventually be an epic disc golf course in the ground.

Bob

I went by Cash & Carry and picked up 20 half pound burgers with cheese, lettuce, pickles, mayo, mustard and buns. If anyone wants onion or tomato it's BYO. In fact anything that you'd like to bring along to share would be cool too!

See ya all out at Stub Stewart in the morning!

I'd like to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who took time out of their weekend to come help at Stub Stewart yesterday. We had about 25 people total and we cranked through the remaining tasks of building the greens, had a great lunch courtesy of Stumptown Disc Golf. then we all played an impromptu round of random flip doubles.

Thank you all very much for showing up

Jeff.

Too bad I didn't learn about this until after the fact. Sounds like a great day to be out there. Will there be another work party in the coming weeks/months for the back 9? I would be happy to help out and could probably convince my roommates to come too. I'm excited to have a new NW oregon course.

Off topic: I am curious about the logs around the greens. Will these help prevent some discs from leaving the green area (ie rolling missed putts)?

Off topic: I am curious about the logs around the greens. Will these help prevent some discs from leaving the green area (ie rolling missed putts)? On some greens yes. However I believe the main purpose was two-fold:
1. Help keep the bark chips on the green; and
2. Help slow erosion for those greens on hills.

Just wanted to chip in my thanks to all of the volunteers who put in their time to expand the game and worked so hard for their sport. This is a great sport, amazingly fast growing, and we need all the great courses we can get! In the last couple of years I've seen the demographics change, to where there are more and more families coming out with the next generation of players. So to all those volunteers, you can take heart that what you're doing will be enjoyed for generations to come! You do make a huge difference!

I have heard tell of people going there and playing it so I am assuming that the answer is yes. Would be nice to know before driving out there, of course...
