I wish this wasn't the same weekend as the Eugene Celebration. Hope it goes well!

Here is a link to an 18-hole layout that worked well for Ice Bowls I ran there... http://home.comcast.net/~accuspeed/IB07/18holes.jpg

Bonus: does not play onto property outside the church property.

Looks a lot like some of the ideas I had for extra holes at lunchtime. Might steal one or more of yours though to make the flow through easier. Curious where you're 11 and 12 start and end... the area in there has overgrown a lot lately though.

We tried to pick a weekend with the least going on in September and this was it. I was sad to see when the Eugene Celebration was was added/moved. Summer is just a great time for outdoor stuff in Oregon. We have a pretty good players pack, cheap cheap entry, and a lot of prizes so hopefully we'll still draw a crowd. And we're only a one day event so people who can't/don't want to commit to two days can come to us.

Hi - I would love to enter but I'm wondering if you expect more than one or two recreational/intermediate women to sign up? I'm hoping to play in a group that's close to my same level.

Hey, Not sure who will show up. I know a lot of the more competitive women in the area are heading south to bigger tournaments. I spoke at the Stumptown meeting last night and they were going to send out an email about our event to the Chick Flick participants as this would be a great event for them so I hope to have more.

What level do you usually play at?

And, personally, I always enjoyed seeing great women playing against the guys and beating them! I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea though. You can keep an eye out at: http://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/FORE_Youth_2010-Benefiting_Youth_Progress_Association/registration to see who all signs up. I try to update it daily.

F.O.R.E! Youth needs your baskets and your support! We need at least 3 more baskets and have room for multiple hole sponsors. We are also offering $25 advertising on our temporary holes!

F.O.R.E! Youth and Youth Progress Association would like to thank:

Greater Portland Bible Church (we really couldn't have done it without you!), KEEN Footwear (for $200 in vouchers), Vibram Disc Golf (excellent discs and the durability demo was a big hit), Disc Golf Depot, Stumptown Disc golf club (The discs and shirts got oohs and ahhs all day long), Disc-Van-go (generous ride vouchers), Thirdeye Magazine, The Junior League of Portland, DGOD Disc Golf Club (baskets and promotions), NWDiscgolfnews.com (last minute prize support) and all the players!

Coolest thing today: Multiple players donating winnings back to YPA or discs to the program youth! You made a big difference today ladies and gentlemen!

We had 25ish competitive players in the morning and a whopping 56 doubles participants (With moderate cross over). Not bad for a first outing tournament an a weekend with 4 other events. Gave away well over $500 worth of stuff. Bigger and better things to come!

Off the top of my head: Danny Brown JR won the Recreational Division with a score of 56 (+8) and Jeff Larson survived a 4 hole playoff to take first in Advanced with a score of 44 (-4). In the doubles competition at the end of the day Daniel Quintana and Myself took 1st shooting a 32 (-4) Check out F.O.R.E! Youth on Discgolfscene.com for more scores and details.

Thank you all for participating, contributing, helping out, mentoring kids, and working together for a brighter future. Look for more F.O.R.E! Youth events soon.

Oh...
And I would appreciate any other feedback as this was my first stint as a TD.

I would also like people to share their experiences with/about our program and the youth/staff you interacted with; and, lastly, a review of the course Tournament Layout (we might be able to convince GPBC to add/change layout in the future).

Thanks again!
