Camp near Champoeg

I am meeting a friend from Salem at Champoeg on Monday.
I want to camp Monday and Tuesday night near Champoeg.
I don't want to pay $19 to pitch my tent.

Anyone know of other options in the area?
I have never been there before.

Well I was born and raised in the area and that's basically your only option. You could sleep next to the river but champoeg is your best bet minus a cheap hotel
