Has anyone picked any of these up yet? And if so, what will it take for me to get them from you? I'm loving the Boss so far and want these, badly.

Oh and if money won't work, I am sure I can arrange some sexual favors from Sam.

I've been in contact with Mark of DGV, he's only selling them in packages at this point, and will sell some more on the 2nd, so we'll see if I can snake some internet time at work on Friday and try and score a couple before the last of them sell out.

So I was talkin to Miller at The Depot today about these discs

He told me that any disc can be made stable it's just a matter of how long the plastic was left to cool (in the mold). I always though these kinda of things only happened during the Night Shift

Bruce

Pfunkin, that would be awesome, and I would gladly pay 20 for it.

How do you really know what shift a disc was made on?

discgolforegon
January 1st, 2009, 05:16 PM
well Dave D had made a post on PDGA forums about the night shift boss' they only made enough mix for 122 discs on each "night shift" run.

Sam wants me to bring a few up to Feldbergs house once they get here. I'm assuming because he worked there for numerous years he can shed some light on what makes these special.

as far as i know feldberg could care less about the new star bosses for obvious reasons. $$$$
although he could point out why these might be better/worse than his sig bosses, i would imagine that he would still promote the ones he could bank on.

I'm waiting for the "made by Randy on the swing shift Bosses"
I find this so funny, it's like trying to get your hands on a 10x Ontario Roc made on a Tuesday, by a left handed operator who got drunk last night, with an outside temp above 55, but under 65, during a week when the Dodgers won 3 out of 5 away games using left handed pitchers who played college ball in the Midwest at a 1-A college with team colors that don't include blue or green and have politically correct mascots and female athletic directors ... it seems like just another way for innovaland to make inconsistency in production a marketable commodity.

Trozzle!!!
January 6th, 2009, 11:21 PM
I would be willing to bet that it is a marketing strategy. Bigger companies usually make the exact things on day shift, that they make on night shift. I worked a few temp jobs at Intel making circuit boards. I know we didnt o anything special to the boards that day shift didnt.

Day shift/night shift.......its the same exact thing coming out of the mold!!!!

These are the only STAR Bosses on the market. The night shift thing is just for fun. :pirate:

Yeah its totally a marketing strategy. I Guarantee that these "Night Shift Star Bosses" are the exact same thing as "Day Shift, or Mid Shift Star Bosses"

All Night shift discs come in Night Shift Blue as the color and just so happen to be produced during the Night Shift. Innova is working on a new Stabilizing process with Start plastic. They have done Destroyers, Orcs and Bosses so far.

That's awesome, made me laugh pretty hard, I had to re read it because my eyes teared up, nice work there...

So does anyone have these yet? If so, has nayone thrown one yet, and most importantly... does anyone want to sell one? Or more? I absolutly love my WOX Boss, it is easily used on 60% of my drives... I prefer Star plastic to Champion plastic, and it seems like a no brainer, but I would love ot see a review and or purcahse one! Thanks Duders:bowing:

Mmm, Christmas in January. I got home from work about 30 minutes and there is this nice white box sitting on the front porch. I open it to find 2 NS Star Bosses, when I was only expecting one, and yes he charged me for the other. I'm so stoked to go throw one, but alas I have to work tomorrow, maybe it's time for a sick day...

Bruce
January 10th, 2009, 09:28 PM
P.S. These are fracking badass! Much more stable than any champion boss I've thrown, seem faster and even with the bad throws I've had with them, they out drive my champion bosses by 10 + feet nearly everytime. I am in love!

January 11th, 2009, 04:44 PM
So, does anyone have one of these for sale? I will pay up to $25, and I would prefer a less than max weight, but will take what ever you may have, if not does nayone know where they are still selling them for less than $30???

Dr. Zaius
January 12th, 2009, 08:53 PM
here's three going for about 33$ each. you gotta buy all three for that price though.
there's some more up on ebay right now. they got some factory seconds as well.

price gouging at its finest.

So....based on everyone's experience, is the following Boss list in the correct order (from least to most over-stable)?

1st run Champ.
2nd run Champ.
1st run Star (Nightshift or whatever)

Wow! An Oregon Golfer who actually recognizes price gouging! Look out all you gougers the tide is finally turning.

Added comment $11.00 wholesale $ 33.00 Retail Almost like a series payout

LJ Jubner
January 14th, 2009, 10:34 AM
The point is whenever somone come out with new disc, a decent percentage of DG have to get it ASAP! ..."Cost is no object"... Does not matter whether it helps their game or not It's the about ..."Braggin rights"

Side note I saw some Green night shift boss's on ebay so there goes the "Midnght blue" theroy

JMan

You're right Jub, I get a kick out of this as well. Lets face it, innovaland survives, like any corporation, by creating the holy grail of discs every 6 to 8 months. I'm glad to say I have discs I use that are 5 years old. Currently the only discs I'll pay a bit more for are Photon Glo, but they have been out of production for over a year and are getting damn hard to find. Anybody have a Photon Buzzz, new or used???

Supply and demand. Look it up. They wouldn't be charging these prices if people weren't paying 'em.

You must be a MLB fan! Only in MLB do they keep stats like "He's a power hitter in night games on Tuesdays that have a full moon with men in scoring position, his slugging percentage is .652!":pirate:

Either your monitor is bad or your eyes are bad or the person posting it is lying to you. The limited runs of the special stability process discs(Destroyers, Orcs, and now Bosses) have all been done in Night Shift blue. It doesn't take much to do a little research...

Who wants a blue disc anyway? People probably threw them in there on purpose, just to make more room for red discs!
