Hello everyone,

The Wash VIII is less than 1 month away and will be on July 24th at Adair County Park.

The Wash is a fund raiser for the Linn Benton Food Share. The entry is a minimum $20.00 donation to the food share. It will include a round of disc golf, Susy Stix and Ring of Fire. Food will be provided. None of the events at The Wash are required. It's all about making money for the food share and having a good time.

In the past I have asked for major event sponsors to help pay for food and T-shirts and once again I will not be providing T-shirts. I feel (and many others agree) that there are people in this community who need food more than we need another T-shirt. Those of you who have given so generously in the past to pay for the shirts, thank you. I know that things are tough for everyone this year but, if you still can and want to help by writing a big check, please do so. The difference this year is you won't be writing it to me but will be making out to The Linn Benton Food Share. That way the money will be used in the most efficient way. We'll see about T-shirts again next year.


I'm starting the prize gathering part of the event now so, if you would like to donate some prizes or can help gather some, please let me know.

Hopefully you all can make it. It should be a fun day of golf at Adair.

Do you have a snail mail address to send in a donation if we can't make the tourney? (Although I hope to make the tourney!)

Love the Wash! My first ever disc golf event back in 2003 at Willamette Park. Can't wait to have fun and enjoy the local disc golfers and battle everyone is suzy sticks this year!

I believe Dave Pittman also plans on running a Willamette Open Qualifier the following day at Adair as well, so folks looking to make an enitre weekend out of it can do so. I will not be able to attend Sunday due to my sisters wedding, but we be at the Wash for sure!

Golf, prizes, fun, raising money to help allieviate hunger in the valley!

How many brothers and sisters do you have? Seems to me you been to like 6 or 7 sibling wedding related events in less than 3 years? ;)

Hello Everyone,
The Wash is coming up this Saturday! Once again, The Wash is a fund raiser for the Linn Benton Food Share. We have a bunch of prizes to give away and some great prizes for the raffle part of the event. We will have food, Calapooia brew, :chug: golf, Susy Stix, and ring of fire! You don’t have to take my word for it, ask anyone who has come to The Wash, this is a fun event for a great cause. :yay:

The Susy Stix part of the day started as a side event but has turned into the major part of the competition. If you have never played Susy Stix you really don’t know what you’re missing. Get partnered up with someone and get ready for some fun! :biggrin2:

The closest major event this weekend is in Seattle so come to Adair, play a round at one of your favorite courses, play some Susy Stix and Ring of Fire and help support a great cause. :rockon:

Some of you have said that you won’t be able to make it but would still like to make a donation. If you contact me directly, I will gladly pick up your donation. :seeya:

Picked up some glasses today with “The Wash 2010” etched on them. 2 of them are 1st place mugs. One for the lowest female and male score. First ever Wash specific 1st place prize. :trophy:

Hey Eric, can't wait for this Saturday!

Just a reminder, when does the round of golf start? Also, Colin and I are going to be partnering up again this year to defend our undefeated title two years ago at the sticks. We gladly take on challengers!!!

Come on y'all, one of the most fun events of the summer :)

Hi Everyone,

Ok, we have a bunch of food. We have hamburgers, sun burgers, hot dogs, fruit, cookies, pasta salad, potato salad*, pop, juice (for the kids), chips and I think that’s it. I really can’t remember. I have a bunch of prizes including some really great ones for the raffle part of the giveaway. :rockon:

Once again, well behaved, friendly and in control dogs are welcome. Dogs will NOT be allowed in the food preparation area and I will ask the owners to please control this. It will be very hot tomorrow so please make sure your dogs have water. :biggrin2:

For the golf part of the event I had some pretty cool mugs made up for first place male and female and will let first, second, and third place pick their prizes first. As usual, all the names go into the drawing for the prizes so everyone gets something. There will be prizes for first, second and third in Susy Stix. :trophy:

*I have heard from reliable sources that there is a plot to take some of my mom’s potato salad and have it analyzed for its contents. Because of this, all potato salad consumption will be monitored with the latest video surveillance technology.:cop:

Is there any word about the possible C-Tier on Sunday? I didn't see it on the PDGA site so i'm guessing it's not happening.

Does anyone know?

Hello Everyone,
The Wash was a success! Once again we had some great prizes, great food and great people. We set a new Wash record for money raised. Thanks to the generosity of the participants and people who couldn’t make the event but made donations anyway, we raised $2462.00 for the Linn Benton Food Share!
We missed some of the Wash regulars but had more first timers than we have had in years. Hopefully next year the first timers and the old regulars will be back. Once again I have to thank my family for handling the food, they really worked hard. With all the effort my mom put in to this, next year around July I may hear her say “DON”T call your mother”.
Put The Wash in your calendar on July 23rd 2011 now and we’ll see you next year.

Once again I want to say thank you to all the wonderful people who make this event a success.

One of you at the event lost a gift certificate and came back asking about it. I can’t remember your name but I do remember the face. The gift certificate was returned to me. If it was you contact me directly and I’ll get it back to you. I think you are a Corvallis local.
