I had someone PM me a very good question, so I wanted to add some info about the Juniors...
EVERY Junior card will have an adult walking/ scoring with them to keep them safe as well as keep things moving along in the tournament.
If we have more than 1 card of Juniors we'll have like ages together as well ... 8-10 year olds 11 - 12 year olds, ect...
I hope that helps some of you make a decision about coming. My wife and I have an 8 year-old so we really go out of our way to promote the sport for the youngest of players.
Hope to see you all in about a month!

Updated Tourney Info
Here's the latest info on the Rising Island Open, less than 3 weeks away now. The course setup has been determined for both rounds. The course will play completely differently than the home course players are used to as well as more difficult. Each round will be unique with different mandos, different pins, etc.
The trophies are in, they look PHENOMENAL. The players pack items are all in and we're very very happy with the way things turned out. The players pack will include a custom mini, custom coozy, custom shammy towel, custom patch, and possibly a surprise or two :)
We WILL be giving a basket away as the prize for the Skittles competition, we have a trophy to award to the winner of the putting contest.
Myself and Danni have gotten pretty darn good at custom dyeing discs and will be raffling off quite a few of them.
A few people have stepped up and agreed to help pack the baked goods sale table.
MANDO'S disc golf shop (among others) from Auburn is sponsoring the tourney and is selflessly donating a bunch of stuff to the raffle, thanks Tom!
My buddy Zach is bringing a crew from Auburn, Kevin O is bringing a crew from Bellingham, we've had people register through the mail with us from Bremerton, and of course we have 50 plus tag members in the club itching to have the island's first ever tourney, so we're gonna pack the place!
Get pre-registered if you haven't already!
Oh and one more thing, we are having completely colorized discs made for the tourney(INNcolors), they will all be the brand new straight flying midrange Innova Star Mako, done by the same artist who designed our patches, they are gonna be the best looking disc in your bag guaranteed!
19 days and counting...

Are you aware that you scheduled this over Jetwash?
It happens.
Jetwash wasn't placed on the calendar until July 9th and we announced this and started the planning 2 weeks prior. We had to coordinate a day good for our park as well.
Not every event is for every type of player, so options are good.
Thankfully even with jet wash we have had a nice number of preRegistered players but thanks for your concern.

What can I say? The 2010 Rising Island Open was an incredible success in just about every way imaginable. Here are the things that we learned, benefited from, were told, or just simple observations:
1. Our course is much more difficult than we give it credit for. Plenty of people with plenty of talent who stepped into Fort Nugent Park yesterday struggled with our little island gem. The fact that it challenged everyone in all divisions really made the tournament all the better.
2. We were told by Keith Babar (3rd in advanced) that in his 32 years of disc golfing that this was the most fun he's ever had at a tournament. Wow. If that doesn't get some word of mouth for us going down towards Seattle I don't know what will. I can't thank Danni enough for making this all happen. She did a tremendous job!
3. We raised enough money to get alternate pin sleeves put in on the course. This will happen as soon as the parks department can schedule the time to help us(there's special equipment needed to dig the hole and cement the sleeve in place)
4. Brandon Strickland was picked up as the newest member of Team Bucket. Congratulations Brandon! What a great honor for you after playing in your first tournament, we hope you ride this accolade to even bigger successes in the sport!
5. EVERYONE loved the games. Ring of Fires were incredibly fun to watch, especially when everyone was back in it after a few guys would miss their second putts lol. The skittles was a heated but very very fun competition, the putting contest stumped a lot of people but generated lots of interest as well. Glad you all had fun with the side games, that was the intention.
6. As stressed out as we were leading up to it, we couldn't have had more fun putting this on for all of you. We can't wait to do it again, and the next time it will be PDGA sanctioned, I guarantee we'll double the size of the field, and we'll find even more creative things for you all to enjoy! Thank you all so much, we couldn't have had the success of the tournament without YOU!
