Hey, my name is Brent I live in the Portland area. I am looking for some people who love to play disc and are serious about training to get better. I know a bit but want to learn more. I love playing new and different courses. Anytime I am off I love playing... lets get out there and throw

My suggestion would be to start hitting up the local league-type events. You'll meet a ton of people at these events and you'll get a chance to play with a lot of great players.
Lunchtime League at Lunchtime. (Monday)
Tuesday Twos at Orchard Park (Tuesday)
Timber Doubles at Timber Park (Tuesday)
Pier Doubles at Pier Park (Wednesday)
Dabney Doubles at Dabney (Thursday)

Another idea might be to post up some specific times when you will be playing a course, there are so many golfers here on the forums there's a good chance someone can join you.

An excellent suggestion, my friend.
Now, which weekly series features a beginner-friendly environment, a beginner friendly course, and lots of great prizes every week? :chinscratch:

This is a great way to get your feet wet in playing a tourney and meeting a lot of great people. Each of the weeklies has something different to offer as far as courses to play on and the different players that show up for each. It would be worth your wild to check out each of them to see what fits your play and who you may want to play with.

Check out the calendar at the top of the page. It will tell you exactly what is going on and when. There usually aren't too many weekly series that occur on weekends in the summer because there are so many other tournaments available.
Check out Lunchtime Leage. It' handicapped singles, which means you don't have to be a great player to do well there. And you're still likely to meet some great players and people.
