I will bake sour dough bread. We'd like to make this a pot luck style lunch so please let us know if and what you can bring. Salads and such would be great. Fred and Donalas place is right next to the course so storing food that needs to remain cold is not an issue. Also Fred would like to get an idea of how many ribs to cook so an RSVP would really help. You can RSVP here, or join our groups on Facebook and DiscGoflersR.us & RSVP there. If you haven't already joined just search for "State of Jefferson FlipOut League."
Hope to see everyone there. This tourney was a blast last year and this year looks to be even better. Lawson Bar is a riverside course designed by the one and only "Yoseman" Steven Wright.
Namaste,

So Lee and I have discussed this and want to get feedback from as many as possible. We're thinking of raising the amount we pay out per team from $20 to $25. This would reduce the amount we hold back for the finals from $9 to $4 per team. If we do this we'd hope that the increase in pay out will bring more teams. More teams would then even out the lowering of what we set a side for the finals. Let us know what you think.

That's great.
River holes will depend on how low the water gets between now and then. If we get some dry weather it should work out. If not we (Yose & I) have a back up plan.

Yose, Swain, Will and many others have the course looking great! Be prepared for a lot of golf. Yose has 14 holes set up. We may need adjust that number if we have a lot of recreational river goers. The plan is to play a round of 28, break for lunch, then play a final 14.
Lunch wil be provided by Fred & Donala Simmons. Fred's famous dutch oven ribs. It's a pot luck so bring what you can. We'll eat luch on the Simmon's back porch.

Fun course, great food, perfect water temperature. Thanks, guys... I had a blast.
The river holes were so much fun... especially once the "water is OB" rule was lifted for the last couple of rounds. It was comical seeing throws being made from shoulder-high water.
The Simmons's hospitality made the day even more memorable. Lunch in the shade of their porch! Hole 13 in their backyard! Cool thick shady grass for sprawling upon during awards! And what an awesome sound system.
Thanks, thanks, thanks.

I couldn't say it better myself Sue. One of the best SOJ's and tourney's I've been a part of. I'll compile results tonight and post tomorrow.

Well that was wicked sweet!!!! When do you have a chance to make your partner putt from water above there head? Not in a sanctioned event that is for sure.

I had an ethical struggle with one of my upshots: It landed in the patch of water by Alcatraz. I waded in, and the little waves I created kept pushing it closer to the pin... closer... closer.

Here's one:
Hole 12, Moe's thumber lands 10' from the basket in some fast water up against a rock dead center. The disc was almost bent in half from water pressure on both sides. Willy Mac say's "you better hurry", but... they were out. So whilst I wait for my turn the disc breaks free and flows 40 more feet down river.

That happenned to me too on 12. However I didn't get to in time and it drifted 10 feet down rive before it came to rest. My funnest shot of the day because it cooled my feet off.

Al
