It's almost time, only a week away and the Beaver State Fling Staff had our final meeting for the year last night. PDGA NT/AM Super Tour Beaver State Fling brought to you once again by Keen and Next Adventure is going to be bigger and better than ever. The things you've experienced in the past are back but there are some new things this year to make this event even better than ever.
I want to take a moment here to just say, Mike Phillips and Jeff Mittl have worked tirelessly for months to give this you the disc golf community. An event of this magnitude just doesn't happen, it takes long hours and hard work. Thank you Mike and Jeff for everything you've done.
With this all said, we are into the final week and there is still work to be done. I could still use 4 or 5 volunteers on Friday of the NT. If you can make it for the day drop me a message with your email. For those who may not know, the "temp" holes will not have the rubber Teepads this year. Sorry! They will be brand new concrete permanent pads. We are getting the finishing touches on the pads this Saturday the 22nd. We could use all of your help in getting the pads completed and some other finishing touches on the course. Bruce Murphy and myself are providing lunch for everyone who shows up to work. Be at the Ranger station at 10:00. Lunch will follow the work at approximately 2-2:30 and there should be time after lunch for a round of golf.
What else is going on:
Wednesday 26th, 4:30-6:00.........Meet and get an autograph from Ken Climo and Dave Feldberg at Deek and Bryans Next Adventure. 20% discount on all disc golf product during the event.
Thursday the 27th, 6:00..........Free Clinic at Milo McIver, check in at Tournament Central and we'll be heading down to the field below. Jay Reading, Cale Levieska, Liz Carr, and Dave Feldberg will be teaching. Learn from the Pros', everyone is welcome and it's free.
If you're not playing and you're not volunteering and you have some time during the weekend, grab your friends and family and come on out and watch. This an opportunity that only comes once a year, to see the best in world compete on two of the best disc golf courses in the world.
I can't wait to see everyone next week and weekend. Stop by and say hi at Tournament Central.
