I hope it would be for the day, but not sure.

However, the first lift up is 10:30 and the last one is 2:30. The last lift down is 3:30, and not sure if you need it to get down or if that is just for those viewing the summit.

If the upper course is the same as it was a few years ago, then a round takes about four hours. It would be impressive to get two chairlift rounds in a day, not to mention the physical toll it would take on your body.
Hiking to the top costs nothing, so you could play the upper course for free! People of all ages hike to the top all of the time. I think it takes less than two hours to hike up.

A BIG thanks to the workers putting in this course for the summer. It's like building a new course every year!
I saw you posted some good pictures on the blog, Dee. It looks like hole 18 is there on the avalanche mound. I heard that hole would be removed this summer for chair lift work, is that still true?

we went up there last weekend. Dee said that 17 and 18 are gonna be in until they have to be removed for the construction. hopefully they remain until the tourney!

Where does "everyone" stay? I've never been there, but the internet maps show Enumclaw to be 1:30+ away, and it appears to be the closest town.
Is there a tournament campground or host hotel? Are all the "ski" hotels open? Inquiring minds want to know.

Crystal Mountain Hotels (http://www.crystalhotels.com/) is the host hotel and is offering discounted lodging for Disc Golfers. All rooms include Continental Breakfast too. The Alpine Inn/Snorting Elk Cellar are "Tournament Central" and there is a putting green right in front of the hotel/bar.
There are Designated USFS campgrounds 7 & 10 miles off the mountain. Many golfers camp in the ski resort parking lots (free) and surrounding areas. RV Hookups are available at the resort for $20 and are within walking distance to everything.
Thanks for asking.

Why is there no registration list at the pdga calendar? I'd like to see how full it is and who's onboard. It's 3 weeks away and there is rumor of being sold out? (see above)
Or maybe noone has signed up yet? That would explain the lack of listings. I'll go with that and stop worrying about the sell out.

I've been signed up for a few weeks now... the earliest I've signed up for a tournament to date-- I've been checking periodically for a players list as well... just curious to see who might've signed up>> could you hook that up for us when you get a chance, Dee? I hope to see some of you Oregon (and Eastern WA) guys there for some mountain golf + super good times...
I'd venture to guess that it's half-full at this point>> I know of several people planning to play that have yet to sign up... I'll give them a nudge for you Dee.
Will the bathrooms w/ showers be open for those of us planning to camp?

I've checked the Crystal website, the PDGA site, as well as this thread and have been unable to find an answer: I was wondering what the schedule was for the tourney, i.e. how many rounds? I saw multiple places that there are 2 courses. Does that mean one round each? 2 rounds on one and one on the other? 2 rounds on each? What about the schedule for Sunday?
I'm considering signing up, but I sort of want to know what I would be getting myself into considering the driving distance involved and the need to work the following day....hundreds of miles away....

I was just up at crystal a couple weekends ago for the first time. We played the summit 18 holes and it was burly. Our round took well over 5 hours! In fact I didnt even finish the last 2 holes cause I was looking for a frisbee.
Am I correct there are 27 baskets out there and the 2 courses share 9 holes? In other words are we playing those 9 holes once each day as part of the 2 courses?
Ashley and I will be there and are signing up soon.

With the exception of the approach to hole 10. It plays differently depending on if you are playing down from the summit course or playing the base course.

Hey Eric,
You are correct that we have 27 baskets on our normal layout.
BUT...
We are adding a Temporary Tournament 9 for the event so there will be 2 seperate 18 hole courses.
Each group will play 1 round on both courses for the tournament. (trying to bottleneck everyone through the back 9 would be challenging to say the least).
Glad to hear you & Ashley are coming up...Looking forward to seeing you again.

Dee

Bring extra clothes, it's gonna get cold, and extra shoes. Those would be the essential items. If you keep your discs on the fairway, you shouldn't need extras.

Carry double the water you would normally take.
Play in the sturdiest footwear you are able to.
Throw down to the basket if you are on an elevated tee
Throw stable plastic downhill and flippy plastic everywhere else.

Sick day at Crystal today.. Clear blue skies, awesome views of Mt. Rainier from the Summit Course and don't forget the WINDS!!
All players showed some serious perseverance out there today.
Half the field played the Summit Course and the other half played the Lower Course (pros & ma1). Flip flop the courses on Sunday.
