So I'm heading down to LA then to the bay area to finish up. Driving 101 or if someone tells me a must play course down there. I'll try and get it in. So far I'm only for sure course is stafford lake. Was hoping some of you guys could tell me some must play courses in Cali.
Thanks alot Kevin

For the bay area, you might check out this thread of mystery  and superb journalistic reporting :whistler: which includes many of the Santa Cruz/Monterey/San Fran courses and everything in between Southern Oregon and there...

The course in Santa Maria - Waller Pines. If you are on 101, it is 5 minutes off of the freeway and WELL worth the visit.

golden gate is unique and pleasureable if you find it fast near the 3rd hole, parking is a breeze on side of the road...

I would suggest playing all the courses in Ukiah. There used to be a course in Willits at a KOA campground that was a lot of fun. There are a ton of courses if you are going as far south as LA. You can pretty much golf yourself to death if you wanted to. There is a ton of golf up and down the west coast.

The course is still there and it now has concrete tees instead of gravel.
Of course its fun.... I designed it. :wink2:
Also play the Redwood Curtain at Humboldt State in Arcata....A must play for all discgolfers.

By far the most enjoyable course that we played in california was Coyote point DGC at Lake Casitas, slightly southeast of Santa Barabara. A can't miss in my opinion. Ample camping as well.
Waller pines is alright, apparently the front nine was closed when we were there three weeks ago which is the best part apparently.
Don't miss De Laveaga either. Get there early though, the course gets packed even on weekdays.

This thread proves that reincarnation is real. It gets a brand new life every time someone goes south.

So i played lake casitas yesterday.. well i attempted to play lake casitas. I went in to pay 10 dollars to only play 10 holes. I began playing and i kept hearing this weird rattling sound. Around hole 5 I look down and about 1 step away is a damn rattler snake. And if you met me you would know i turned and ran like a 10 year old girl. I played another few holes and this time i throw my wraith right next to basket 9 nearly aceing the thing and when i walk up there is another god damn snake this time ranging 6 feet long staring at me. I grabbed my disc and sprinted to my car where safety was at.
I will check lake casitas off of my list of courses.. I mean maybe someone wants to pay 10 dollars to have a 50/50 chance of death. Up to you guys.
Im going to delavega next... i hope ill be able to play the thing..

That's an awesome story. Pretty though isn't it?
Um while we're on the subject. The ticks at Dela Veaga are pretty nasty. Crawl up your legs and all.
