Registration is now open!!!!!

Just Kidding.

We want to have two courses involved in the Eugene Celebration but there are a lot of people who still want to have it all at Dexter. The other courses up for bid are Cottage Grove(permanent course) or Alton Baker (temporary course). I decided I wanted to get some feedback----in other words, opening a can of worms.

I want to get feedback on whether you want to have more than one course or keep it all at Dexter.

If you want to have it at another course----Cottage Grove or Alton Baker?

We are doing flights and not pools this year so we can finish earlier on Sunday. This would be easier if we have two courses or we could add a day. Adding a day would probably make it harder for people who work.

So---here it is ---a can of worms---commence to opening it.

Give me some feedback and always be courteous of other peoples suggestions.:)

I always enjoy playing two courses for tournaments. I think that Cottage Grove would make the most sense to include, with camping at Dexter still.

My only concern with Cottage Grove is parking but Tom C. is figuring that out.
Also, having two courses means I will have to have people step up and be at TC at the other location. :)

make it 3 days! I had a blast last year camping and I could easily do two nights of camping instead of just one. Keep it at dexter, and maybe Fridays round could be dexter inversion style? just my two pennies

I think two courses sound the best, and I do like the idea of adding a third day. As far as which course, I like both the Grove and Alton Baker.

If I can't say other people's ideas are crap what fun is it for me now?:seeya::biggrin2::jumpspin:

I don't understand what is wrong with using 2 courses, other than the need for more volunteers and the hassle for the tournament staff. Why is this bad from the player's standpoint? The only thing that I can think of would be if some players didn't get to play both courses. As long as everybody gets to play every course why is more not better?

As to the question of which course to use, I cannot give an opinion since I've not played both courses yet. But I would usually go with a permanent course over a temp one if it had cement tees. The temp course would have to be REALLY good to trump cement tees.

Either way, I am in for the EC every year that I am still walking this earth!:yay:

This is definitely in my plans for this year, however, 2 days is much better than 3 for those who work the m-f lifestyle... If there are 2 courses, i like that, however, if one course will get played more by specific divisions while the other course vice versa blah blah, please make it clear so that people can register for the division that will play the course more often that they prefer, but if both courses get even number of rounds in for all divisions then nevermind ;)
Camping at Dexter and across the street is dy-no-mite...

I would prefer to have it all at Dexter, but I will play regardless of the courses involved and enjoy every minute. If multiple courses are for the purpose of enlarging the field then I am all for it.

I am going out on a limb here but I am guessing Dr Zaius's next response will not be "I will get right on that"

I'm going to be the old crumudgen here and say it.................Dexter only! :pirate: There that actually felt good! I'm old, cranky, and did I say old? I don't take well to change. :smash: I really don't like to pack up and drive 15-30 minutes to another course to play another round. :pullhair: I'd much prefer to sit and relax, enjoy a meal, watch/cheer/jeer the other golfers in the other Pool. :yay: We don't HAVE to keep changing to accomodate more people. :nono: If it fills it fills and those that didn't/don't get in can go have their own event at Cottage Grove and call it the Cottage Grove Crybaby Open. :nahnah:

You know though that I'd support what ever decision is made and will play if I get in or help out if I don't.

There's my .02! Dexter rules! :trophy:

Bob---this is exactly what I want-----feedback:) Nothing is right or wrong but the reason we are thinking of doing two courses is we really want to do flights instead of pools so everyone can leave a little early on Sunday.:)

I love the new Cottage Grove course, and apart from the parking issue, think it'd be a good tournament venue. However, I selfishly voted for Dexter only for two reasons. 1. For those of us who spend many weekends camping away from home, it's nice to be able to set up camp and be done with it. Shuttling between two courses is impossible for us with our current camping arrangement, and leaves us to bum off of other people for rides to and fro, whilst worrying about the security of our stuff when away. 2. I really enjoy the closeness and comraderie that come from everyone being in the same place and playing the same course. All players, regardless of division, can talk about their rounds on the same course, and it's alot easier for the ams, for example, to watch the pros play their rounds, which is fun. I know we've had some fun times hanging out after our round on Sunday and watching the pros play.

i made a vote on dexter only.... after last weekend at auburn, i realized I really do like tournaments that shuffle the pin placements between each round... We had 3 rounds of 22 holes, the 4 temps stayed the same all 3 rounds. Between round 1 and 2, there were 8 pin changes, between rounds 2 and 3 there were 3 or 4 changes... I like around 6 basket changes per round, theory, could change 3-4 holes each round if they have 3 pin placements or more, and change the rest at least once between A and B. that's just my vote...
