View Full Version : Form and Dysfunction (Causes and Solutions for Worm Burners...)

I've been noticing lately that after a round or so I start to suffer from the dreaded worm burners.
This only happens on my left arm, BH drives and try as I might to slow down and adjust my form, they still sneak in.
Is there any common wisdom around what I might be doing wrong, or should I talk to a shaman?

Interesting. I find that when I get fatigued my drives tend to do the exact opposite - go up in the air.

keep your hips forward and your shoulders back. usually throwing into the ground is caused by leaning forward. pushing your hips forward and pulling your shoulders back will keep you straight up and should eliminate the horrific stench of chared worm flesh. A big miss for me is to throw too low also, or early, sometimes late, or even too high.

I read this on my phone waiting to play and the worms and I owe you a debt of gratitude.
I had a few lower than desired shots, but nothing into the ground inside 200' which I usually see twice on a second 18...
Thanks!
(Thanks to Parks as well - I'll check that link too...)

You could also try improving your overall level of fitness to avoid the fatigue during your second round

No worries, it is just in my nature to want to save the worms.

Actually he's a genius - I walked off with better drives and my dinner was gently saute'd instead of fried!
Seriously, thanks Redfive, I think there's a line running up from the center of the earth, through your hips and spine to your shoulders and head and getting all of that aligned is a prerequisite to anything coming off well.
Must be a fly fisherman.

A grain of rice a day and maybe a small water somewhere between yoga, chanting, and meditation.
This guy is probably ol'er than bob.

But I've spent my whole life in the yoga of stiffness. It is just another of many paths to where we're all going. This one involves rolling cars and crashing motorcycles.
What'samadhi you?
