4 separate 4-team mini tourneys:

1. the 4 1st place division teams (East AM West PM)
2 teams from each day play in the AM
Winners play and Losers play in the PM
2. the 4 2nd place division teams (East AM West PM)
2 teams from each day play in the AM
Winners play and Losers play in the PM
3. the 4 3rd place division teams (West AM East PM)
2 teams from each day play in the AM
Winners play and Losers play in the PM
4. Toilet Bowl (West AM East PM)
4th plays 5th in the AM
Winners play and Losers play in the PM

Jordan - shouldn't the tourney team with the most points be playing the tourney team with the least points in the first round final matchups or is it based on w/L record? As it stands, it appears the the two best teams square off in the first round each time.

The way I set it up (and I made this decision BEFORE I knew the final standings) was to have the 2 first place teams from one day play each other and THEN play the teams from the other day. And as been discussed ad nauseum in this forum, the division W-L-T records decide places with MPs as the tie breaker.

In the finals, the only thing that gets decided by MPs is which team gets the Home Team Designation in each match.:pirate:

Let me try to spell it out for you. The finals will be exactly like the regular season with a few notable exceptions.

Well Jeff & I haven't finished the final standings yet. But we double checked the cards and have most of the matches entered. But to break you off a little somethin somethin here's how the Championship matches turned out:

Putt This! 2.5
Rockwood Roughnecks 3.5

Notes: If Jeff Hemmerling had won instead of tied his match, the match would have been tied 3-3 and tied on strokes 381-381. That would have sent the match to the 2nd tie breaker of total team rating and Rockwood would have won due to the fact that they had Debbi on their team, even though they wouldn't play her on Sunday.

Eastside Crushers 4

That set up a showdown for first place with the Crushers and the Roughnecks in the afternoon.

2 of the matches came down to ties by Lance & Brody and the dubs with Danny/Louie & Camo Mike playing Cali.
Then they split the other 4 singles matches 2-2 with Eddie, Tom, Pops & Ryan getting close victories. But the 2 stroke margin by Eddie over Keith was enough to give the Roughnecks the 1 stroke victory and the Championship on strokes 394-395.

In the third place match another close battle ensued. Putt This! racked up 3 singles victories by Carie, Hagerty and Pinkal, while 3 C's & a D won 2 singles matches by Steve and Cindy and the dubs match with John & D-Walk. Everything was very close except for one match and that proved to be the difference as Putt This! got the victory on strokes 463-476.

1st Place - Rockwood Roughnecks
2nd Place - Eastside Crushers
3rd Place - Putt This!
4th Place - 3 Couples & D-Walk

Nope not at all because the whole thing didn't really affect us we lost to the Crushers, so we were out of the championship anyway. I just think it was a bummer that they took it so serious as to not allow one of their players to play when all 3 of the other teams wanted to let all of their players take part in the final, so in order to not force us to all have to sit a player Jordan agreed to let them play cali in dubs. I am glad Jordan allowed the compromise so we could all play, but chances are that gave them an advantage when the matches came down to # of strokes. If that is the strategy it took to win, and it meant that much to them well good for them. It is all good though we all had an amazing time this year, and those two matches at Milo on Sunday were two of my favorites of the year. :rockon:

I want to make an apology to my teammates if I was the cause of us not getting 1st place since I left after our last match...
With that being said;
Yes I left after my last match after being told that we won our match...Had I known that the score card had an error which resulted in a tie, I would've stayed and played the playoff... With that being said, the Rockwood Ruffnecks still would've won because they had aquired MORE strokes thru out the season. So, even with myself sticking around for the playoffs and even winning the playoffs, we'd still get 2nd....
This is the reason I usually play for FUN because then their isn't BITCHIN and it's more enjoyable with no feelers getting butthurt...
Hopefully this clears up any misunderstandings..If not, then I'll stick with playin for fun...

BTW, thanks for all your hard work SausageFingers!!!!!!!!!!

Just a thought, why not have 1 TDG division for those that want to pay to play and have a huge payout at the end and another for the ones who want to play not so seriously?

You are very welcome!

There are some very good reasons why I don't want to charge any money for TDG.

#1 being that there is not to my knowledge any other free to play league or series

#2 if you don't pay I don't feel obligated to listen to your biotchin

#3 if we paid to play then it would open the whole can of worms about insurance and liability

#4 not to mention parks wanting us to reserve the course and pay money to do so

I am sure that there are more but those are top of mind this morning.

Hey Louie no worries. As Jordan has ruminated before, in the future all ties (individual and team matches) will stand and matches will come down to total team strokes. This will decide 99% of ties, and if strokes are equal then the lower rated team wins. The big problem with a playoff is that it heavily favors the higher rated player (and also takes time we are usually short of).

P.S. I regret that our teams didn't get to play this year. Keith needed a good beat down. ;)

You can get the standings from looking at the afternoon match files. Each tab is in order of finish place played for (i.e. the first tab played for 1st, next tab played for 3rd, next tab played for 5th etc) so each winner gets that place and the loser gets the next place.

Funny thing is, of the 2 wining Saturday teams, neither wanted to move to Sunday so nobody gets bumped to Saturday automatically next year.:pirate:

I want to make an apology to my teammates if I was the cause of us not getting 1st place since I left after our last match...
With that being said;
Yes I left after my last match after being told that we won our match...Had I known that the score card had an error which resulted in a tie, I would've stayed and played the playoff... With that being said, the Rockwood Ruffnecks still would've won because they had aquired MORE strokes thru out the season. So, even with myself sticking around for the playoffs and even winning the playoffs, we'd still get 2nd....
This is the reason I usually play for FUN because then their isn't BITCHIN and it's more enjoyable with no feelers getting butthurt...
Hopefully this clears up any misunderstandings..If not, then I'll stick with playin for fun...

Just a thought, why not have 1 TDG division for those that want to pay to play and have a huge payout at the end and another for the ones who want to play not so seriously?

My team likes playing on Sats and if we had the option to move to Sun we would probably turn it down, just like the top 2 Sat teams did.

Trozzle, we don't even know what teams will be registered for next year. Take a chill pill and bring it back up in October. For someone new to TDG you sure do complain a lot.

I am not new to TDG, this was my 3rd year of it. Not as many as some of you, but still more than a large majority of people this year, at least the newer version that Jordan is running.

No, even if the Mayan's were correct we'll still get another full season of TDG. It's the following season that will be cut short...:pirate:

But on a serious note, I will wait to see how many Sunday teams are returning before offering any openings to existing Saturday teams, and then to possible new teams. But personally, I don't see the big difference...:pirate:

Thank you. I can now rest easier tonight. Was up all night last night worried about how the Mayan calendar could possibly affect TDG. I mean... do we even KNOW what day of the week 12/21/2012 is?! I sure don't... and when I look at Gawain's calendar... the Mayan date isn't even on there!

Anyway... do what you can, friend. If we end up with the short end of the stick again, I guess we'll just deal.

Well since Will was on Whiskey Discs and they sort of collapsed, minus Shannon. I would say Will's team would just replace his old team. Unless Shannon and Tassia keep WD going and Will starts a new team, THEN we are moving in the right direction.
